Nintendo Switch 2 + New Mario Kart

At long last, the Switch 2 finally got revealed!



After 5 years, the Nintendo Switch 2 has finally been revealed officially!
Not too many new features on the hardware itself as it is just an improved Switch, but let's take a look regardless.

The stand got a major upgrade, doesn't look as flimsy and breakable as on the original Switch. It's also much more flexible.

New joycon designs, a sleek black colour with red and blue accents. I'm also noticing a mysterious button below the home button, what could it be for?

And here's how the Switch 2 will connect with the new joycons. This has many people worried as it looks pretty weak, so it may be wise to skip handheld mode on this one :s

Mario Kart

Alongside the Switch 2 we also got a quick teaser for the next Mario Kart game which I'll be referring to as MKX for now. We got shown this route 66 themed track, judging by the start sign this is likely MKX's rendition Mario Circuit! You also may notice the starting grid having alot more racers than usual, hinting that this game might allow for up to 24 players in total which will be total chaos.

Seems like MKX will be going for a similar artstyle to Mario Wonder, makes sense considering MK8 already went for realism. We also get a glimpse at some characters who will be appearing, these include:

ShortBugYT They put a cow in MK. A COW. My bro told me they were putting Kendrick Lamar in Mariokart World. What the heck... I still love DS Rainbow Road and like the fan remake (look up DS Rainbow Road Mariokart 8 Deluxe and you'll see what I mean.) but it's generally better to just go back and play the Mariokart and you'll see a lot of classics like Double Dash Mushroom Bridge, Mushroom City, and Rainbow Road (try it, best rr in my opinion), and goated DS tracks like Figure 8 Circuit, Yoshi Falls, and the ORIGINAL Tick-Tock Clock.

GBA though... I don't know. Maybe they were satisfied with all the GBA remakes in Tour? No idea.

LuckyChloeforT8 I remember seeing an interview with an employee recently that reveals that the games are priced on what Nintendo thinks they're worth, which is why you might get a polarising difference where Everybody 1-2 Switch/Mario Vs DK Remake was $40, but Mario Kart World will be $80. This is also why their games don't often go on sale; they believe that the games don't lose value(which is kinda true).
Better than Sony selling everything at $70, including games not worth that(cough* Horizon cough*) although to be fair they atleast let their games go on sale later.

Something I just realized about potential for "track builder":
Mario 64 is almost 30 years old and we only got a level builder hack a couple years back. For MARIO 64. And that game, for all intents and purposes, is outlandishly simple compared to games nowadays. I don't think a 3D level designer is going to happen.

Also I still don't want to see a single retro, maybe I've just been playing these tracks for too long

Render96Toad I'm concerned about what Nintendo's doing, because we've had too much silence after Mario Wonder. They did have to forget the fact they aren't in the 2010s, anymore, and start a new era, but it's looking a bit strange. Their latest highest point was in 2017 when Mario Odyssey came. Smash let's you build stages, but they all have these really generic textures. You can make a stage that plays like an official stage, but it's always going to look really ugly and out of place. If they don't do it more like Mario Maker, then I don't want it.

Like, imagine if Mario Maker only used flat textures and was not stylized at all.

Ssg-132 MK9 will not have a track builder. Making a 3d editor for a game is hard it would have to be very limited in order for it to function. Plus if the games are going to be targeted towards kids, do you really think they would make better tracks than Nintendo.

Somebody got a better look at the yellow object, it's a paper bag with a smiley face & some rainbow colored light coming off of it(the smell, I guess?), not a Wonder seed. Not to mention that Wonder FLOWERS are what start the effects, the seeds end them, not the other way around, so it'd have to be be flower, which it very much isn't.(The wonder stuff was very well thought out)

As long as they keep the Miis out of this next generation I will be copping day 1

Fiery yeah I agree with Twilight something like a Steam Workshop but for a Nintendo Switch would be awesome. Also like a revamped Mii creator so it’d be like Miitopia on the Nintendo Switch.
