Hybrid Tracks?

My latest track "Final Colony" is something I call a "Hybrid Track". I essentially took track pieces from Quick Mode and combined them in an editing software, while using Complete Mode in order to fully flesh out the track. This is the current easiest way for me at least to use Quick Mode, given its already established limits.

Hello all! I am making this announcement to tell everybody that I'm going to start making some Quick Mode tracks! Even though another post I made was kind of bagging on QM, I tried it for the first time today and I feel like I can make something of it. I'm excited to start creating!

I don't understand the popularity behind QM. It's easy to use, but you end up with boring, bland courses that have no soul or deliberate game design. And, at that point, why even bother? I think it can be done well sometimes, like with CFPQM All-Stars, but even some of those tracks are bland and unimaginative. These kind of tracks are just not very fun, at least not to somebody who can go faster than 80mph flat along the road. It's not fun to be bound to a generic loop, or even segments of a generic loop. If they remove the ability to create courses THIS easily, yeah, of course the production will slow down dramatically, but it will force these creators to... create. Not "put together". Let track artists breathe life into their own works, and let them learn what a good track is and isn't. QM just makes people pool a bunch of time into tracks that don't mean anything.

One track obviously has more care an effort put into it, and another track has no unique textures, no intriguing lines, it's bare.
Okay, but then you might say: "But Map, they're just like smk's tracks, those are bare and unpolished." Are they though? Like, go play Bc2 and see the difference of the spacing, the road thicknesses taking shape, dramatically affecting the gameplay.

The same kind of visuals, same kind of vibe, but two very different overall executions. I actually really enjoy playing Jungle Ruins 1 personally. It's very fluent, and easy to understand, as well as having very clean and interesting, as well as satisfying lines. Unfortunately, and this isn't to throw shade, but I don't get anything out of Koopa Troopa Beach. It's very dynamic, at least I think, but none of that matters when I'm playing on such a grid. It doesn't matter how many paths there are, it just isn't fun to spike 120mph but not feel very fast while doing so. It's a slog. But all of QM is, so I won't hold it against either creator.
Really, I could go on and on, listing bad QM courses, and good CM courses. I'll spare anybody who's reading this the time, and leave you with my essential question:
Why keep QM if QM is a net bad for the creatives of MKPC?

But on mc1, I managed to do four laps thanks to the bomb. You can (in a slightly complicated way) detonate it on yourself, which makes you pass over the invisible wall and allows you to jump over a small part of the map (just before the third turn, you can jump over the invisible wall with the bomb).
Ahh, with the bomb. I've been doing them in time trial, because technically a 4lap Is possible on every track thanks to launching items like blue shells and bombs.

I just spent two hours doing four laps on all the circuits and I succeeded in all the races, but there are races where I miss more than one checkpoint, so does that count? But if it doesn't count, I'll redo all the races, missing only one checkpoint to prove that it's doable.
Uhm, the point is to not succeed. This 4Lap is characterized by skipping a checkpoint without being required to move negative checkpoints through the track. So on certain tracks, like mc1, it's impossible to 4Lap because you're required to backtrack. In tracks like bp, however, you can bypass checkpoints without needing to backtrack. This is the 4Lap.

Hi MKPC. I saw a post by RealGamerGuyYT talking about the possible tracks that you could get the 4Laps glitch on, which got me thinking. Exactly how many tracks can you skip a checkpoint on to cause the 4Laps glitch? So, I'm gonna be posting videos on this topic of each track you can do a 4Laps glitch on, just to see exactly how broken this game is. XP

How do I reverse drift like proudster?

I’m a reverse drifter and proudster is one of my friends but the thing is I think I reverse drift perfectly but someway somehow he’s faster than me. Is there like a specific way to RD??? Someone pls help😭😭
When you RD perfectly, you:
★ Very rarely see the orange sparks for more than a few frames
★ Will see your speed spike higher than 80mph every 2-3 seconds (depending on your timing)
★ Lose very little speed in between each super mini-turbo
★ Lose very little speed on accident during turns
★ Take non-optimal lines that bleed time due to sliding
★ Do not lose any speed during speed item use
☆ Can often see other good players taking identical lines to you!

Some food for thought, you might need a speedrunner in order to test your tracks to make sure they're not only quality, but not broken. Absence of things like OOB glitches or checkpoint manipulations/4lap is generally good to have.

reverse drift ruins the game

I know earlier I said that I got a new best run with it, but after using it so much I now see why its a big issue. in Mario kart you are not able to have 100% max manueverability for this exact reason. It makes simple tracks far too easy for many players and its hard for beginners to get into online when they constantly have to fight reverse drifters. this reminds me, despite what is commonly said reverse drifting is not hard. all you need to do is change your settings so that 3 fingers are available for your right hand so you can press drift and accelerate at the same time while pressing reverse and all it takes is a few hours to get a feel for it. I am a day two player and I was able to get a top 100 run under Mario circuit in 1 day with the strategy. that definitely is not impressive but it just goes to show how easy it makes the game
Top 100 means nothing except a mere gap in knowledge. You could argue that same point for somebody who learned how to do a trick somewhere else in the speedrunning community. It doesn't go to show anything except that others didn't know the trick. The game is only easy when you make it easy. Play lounge, play online vs. against any other rd'er, and you'll see what I mean. Time trials only makes it feel easy because you're going fast, and your lack of understanding in what makes a good time, especially for mc1 standards cloud your view on what should/shouldn't be done about the game in regards to RD.
Personally, RD adds a level of skill not before possible without it. If people didn't like it, Wargor would've dropped it, but people do like it. It's a great feature that adds depth to this normally very flat game, and makes the skill ceiling go higher than it did before.
RD alone, by the way, does not dictate the skill of a player. You still need to use items well, still need to take lines optimally, and still need to learn to look at your minimap and speedometer at nearly all times, as well as taking certain shortcuts and implementing track strategies on the fly according to a situation. RD merely makes you go fast, in the grand scheme of skill to be displayed.
No offense, but people who outright think RD is the only thing that people need to learn to do good in a race do not understand what Mario kart is.

I don't hate it, but I never got the hype of Hollow Knight. Pizza Tower was the better indie game to come out in both eras of their popularity imo (maybe bc PT had way more time in the oven). More stylized, more focused, a lot more experimental and interesting. Hollow Knight looks like a mobile game and moves like a flash game (I didn't play it bc I wasn't sold on it).

They are different, I wasn't comparing the games fundamentally. I was comparing them based on which one was doing more, where Pizza Tower has HK beat on an objective level.
And by more focused, I mean the ideas are very deliberate, the quality of the game adheres to the passion of the creator, and there is an obvious goal in each design choice. When I see people play Hollow Knight, I don't see what I saw when I played Pizza Tower.
