I noticed this critique by hoppingicon on somebody's multicup. Basically, he said that their color selection is poor. How many colors is too many colors? Is it the number, or is it a contrasting colors thing?

I did kind of say that. I meant on CT Project's Sydney Sprint. But I won't blame anyone it can be difficult to make a color pattern that can instantly stand out to some (like when you look at blue and know it's water or knowing green is grass, etc). You have to get used to it first.

Favorite MKPC Player and why

I might be one of the best but not the best.
M26G has some great tracks but definitely not the best at pixel art.
Hoppingicon is good with CTs but he's far from the best.
The best creators tend to make maps that are confusing to play due to color detections being hard to tell. Also I mostly try to get as creative as possible with theming and feeling like you're going places.
Some maps even if they're details and easy to understand, kinda feel on the boring side. The only thing they have to show off is the detailed track itself, but it can feel so simple and generic too that IDK I feel forced to 5/5 it for the effort on the map but not the effort in the overall theme. People like you, Rhcks, and Fways don't fall under this category at least but there are plenty that do.
