Definitely remove. In order to clear some space for future tracks, I decided to delete what I thought was a duplicate file of GCN Baby Park. It was the actual finished track. If there was no space limit, I wouldn't have needed to delete the file, and it also wouldn't cause me having to remake the track.

I understand it's hard to handle. WAIT WHO IS hoppingicon1?

I don't know about it either. But the website use more ressources each year, and it will probably be good if you don't make @Wargor pay more for the website to be hosted.
On 2019-06-25 at 11:44:28
I think this is a good idea. If you have limited space for your tracks, then the game's encouraging you to make good tracks with the space you have. If you make bad tracks, delete them when you run out of space and try to improve on them. Was this Wargor's intention?
On 2019-06-25 at 14:11:47
I say yes.

Yes and no I'd say.
Yes:Because of the fact that others should have the freedom to make as many tracks as they want to.
But,No:Because certain websites only have a certain amount of space to use, which is probably why it is how it is now.

I think they're doing this so we don't jam up their servers, but I still think that they should remove that.

i agree, this idea was stupid to begin with and now its even worse

Ok, please calm down I know this limitation can be annoying, but it is there for pure technical reason, I wouldn't have made it if there were no reason. Let me explain.
MKPC is hosted on a small server, with only 10 GB of disk space. I could use a larger server, but it would cost more money and since the game is entirely free, nothing would finance it.
So, 10GB of space means that if everyone used the 25MB allowed, only 400 members could create circuits. It's quite few. Hopefully not everyone use the 25MB so in practice it's more than that, but it shows that this limitation is necessary to allow as many people as possible to create tracks.
That being said, I can think of 2 solutions to solve this problem:
- Delete all old useless tracks to save space. But it would be veeeeery long to do manually, and not that easy to do automatically (how do you identify a useless track? )
- Allow to create circuits from an external image URL, instead of importing it on MKPC server. You would host the image on an external website such as Discord or PostImage, like what you do when you post images on the forum. This way, you could create as many tracks as possible without using space on the server. While I like this solution, it implies that I develop something to allow circuits with external images, which would take time too.
So whatever solution I chose (it could be both), it will take some time.
Now, before I start doing anything, who needs extra space for circuits today? From my experience, 25MB of space is already a lot (with well-compressed images, you could create over 100 circuits with that). If many people need more space, then I'll try to do something for it. But if it's only 1 or 2 members, please understand that it will not be my first priority.
