Phooey on dark shells. I was playing with 11 people last night. i ended up falling of a cliff, so everyone passed me. Then, out of nowhere, not 1, not 2, but 3 of these purple coloured shells hit me simultaneously. Proudster later commented that he had recieved several of these items... I played with CPU's and found out They are as common as a banana peel in 1st place! At the very least if they are going to make these dark shell thingies regular, they should at least add something to help last place as well, such as more blue shells, the car horn from MKT8, or the bowser shield. What's the use of attacking the person super far behind? ESPECIALLY since you lose your items. This item might be fine for you people who are always riding 1st place, but in my opinion, these are just an April Fool's Day prank that needs to be deleted.

I think that the new shell should be kept in the game, but not available in the standard item distribution so the game can be played without them.

I think to counter the dark shell i have an idea for an item the parafoil it will protect you from dark shells lightning and blueshell it is obtainable in all places with the same odds 5-8% but it scales in first place it lasts 1 seconds in 2nd it lasts 2 seconds etc.
That just sounds awful. It's a terrible idea to give out shock protection to first place, and it basically gives a free blue shell dodge. And there are items which do the same think, but better, like stars and megas, which are actually balanced. In conclusion, this item would suck, be would ruin all the balance the game had

Still, that doesn't change the fact this would be a horrible item to get at the back of the pack, and useless item at the front of the pack. And it wouldn't even make sense, so I think the best thing for this item is to just not add it, since it would just be annoying to get.
