I think it would be a great idea for MKPC to have special item boxes with special item distributions. For example a box that has a 30% chance to have a star, a 40% chance to have triple mushrooms (when they are fully an item), and a 30% chance to have a single mushroom. Or, one that just has blue shells in it.
Actually that's in three MKs. DK Pass has an item box that always gives Mushroom, Triple Mushrooms, Super Star, or Red Shell in MKDS, while its MK7 version no longer has the Red Shell available. The Spiny Shell boxes are only found in MK64, one under the balloon in Luigi Raceway (replaced by a normal item box in MK7) and on a rock on Koopa Troopa Beach (replaced by a coin in MK7).

How?
You pretty much just go into the direction where the wall is and land on it. This does not apply only to walls; some generally inaccessible areas can be accessed with a jump, assuming there is no out of bounds (OOB) area. I am aware of four such tracks that you can do this, but only three are worthwhile, those being Cheep Cheep Beach, DK Pass, and Airship Fortress. Last I checked, the OOBs on Wario Stadium have not been cleared in such a way to save time.

Just alternate drifts in opposite directions; a left drift, right drift, etc. while on a straightaway. The way this game works is that spark rate is tied to handling, so chars with high handling such as Daisy have a fast spark rate, while low handling chars like Dry Bowser have a slow spark rate.

SNES Bowser Castle 2 and Boo Lake have a glitch where you can fall off in the right spot, respawn at the line, and get lap count.

There's also an online glitch where if you have an item and press the 'use item' button twice in quick succession, you place a second item too.

The Spiny Shell still chases after first place like all other Mario Karts. I am not quite sure what the Bowser Shell does yet. I think it's just a very big and deadly green shell.
And yes, this does feel like Double Dash, except for the courses.

Yeah, officially it’s the spiny shell but no-one cares what Nintendo thinks.
It has been called the spiny shell since Mario Kart 64, but no one calls it by the proper name, instead calling it the blue shell. A similar situation comes with Bob-ombs, which people generally call them bombs.
