@NeverCookAgain if you accidentally take a massive shortcut you lose lapcount
Where? All of Sky Garden's shortcuts are micro. Which part? I know that there are some tracks with this problem, and they are GBA tracks, but where on Sky Garden are you getting this?
EDIT: The couple things I could think of on Sky Garden that I just tested all have Lakitu adamantly telling you that you fucked up. Maybe learn to drive better.
I tested it, and found that if you jump before the second bridge in the direction of the bridge, and fall off, you miss a checkpoint and respawn on the bridge.

My opinion (HOT TAKE WARNING)

SNES bowser castle 1
Reason: the track is too boring, and the jumps add nothing but annoyance to the sharp turns
SNES bowser castle 2
Reason: too many straight lines, annoying thwomp placements, jumps add nothing, and the turns in the middle are asinine
SNES choco island 2
Reason: annoying jumps, narrow roads, and big mud puddle make reverse drifting impossible without mistakes
SNES koopa beach 2
Reason: ugly green circles and unpredictable sinkholes
SNES vanilla lake 2
Reason: annoying snow, too slippery, and water everywhere
SNES rainbow road
Reason: not good for online because it is too easy to get bumped off
GBA shy guy beach
Reason: the jumpa towards the end are unsatisfying and impossible to reverse drift on
GBA sky garden
Reason: too easy to lose lap count, and BAGGING

For more information, you drift as sharp as possible, pressing and releasing [back] along the way, like this.

I found out that if you set your CC to NaN (using inspect) you don't have any speed limit, and when I used the bullet bill, it just gave me 300 km/h. Seeing the infinite acceleration is pretty funny! (I made a course that abuses NaN cc)
To do it, right click the cc setting and press Inspect. Then, open the <select> and go to (for example) 50cc, change the value to something like "thequickbrownfox."

Frankly, I think most of the tracks are either well-rated or underrated.
If I had to choose, I would answer DS Desert Hills because even if you drift perfectly it's still hard to stay on road at the end, because on 200cc sometimes you get hit by the pokeys, and because of the fire that appears around lap 2.

I like SNES RR and It's actually easy to do it in deluxe. The key? Inside drift.
I don't play MK8D, but what's inside drift? More specifically, what buttons do you press on inside and outside drift?
