Ngl I would choose something with good speed and good handling for better snaking. What do you guys think?

Handling is kinda the only stat in this game that does anything.

Speed - Only relevant for time trials on a few specific tracks, otherwise overridden by RD

Acceleration - Same as speed

Weight - Not worth playing the worst characters in the game

I thought this was shown in credits but apparently not lol

Anyway there's currently only 3 tracks remaining for Gamecube: Luigi Circuit, Baby Park and Waluigi Stadium

Afaik nobody's currently working on Luigi Circuit and Waluigi Stadium, however Baby Park already has a lot of progress but someone is being a lazy ass so who knows when that actually gets finished.

Will it include Arcade GP circuits? If no, maybe we should have a similar project based on Arcade GP?

Sounds like a good idea on paper, but then you look at the actual tracks

Will it include SNES circuits?

Unlikely as Rhcks already made Super Mario Kart Deluxe, no point in having all the same maps get thrown in

I would personally like to see an updated version of it someday though as I think there's alot of untapped potential in that multicup

vs32977 pts ★ Legend

CTGP Rush is a new (ok we started like 4 months ago but whatever) collaborative multicup consisting of rush tracks. Since rush tracks take a while to make, this will be a very slow burner project. Don't expect updates regularly. If you wish to share progress, see small updates or participate in polls, you can join the Discord by asking me for an invite in DMs.

What are rush tracks?
Rush Tracks consists of at least 4 other tracks. Also known as 'rallies', 'knockout tours', etc. Just 4 or more tracks combined into one (optionally with intermission sections). These should last longer than the average custom track.

I want to submit, what are the requirements?
How nice of you to ask instead of blindly submitting like an idiot :D

Since rush tracks are a complete pain in the ass to create, the standard is much lower than CTGP PC But Good for example. That being said, there's still some requirements to follow:

● While standard quality isn't as high as it would usually be, the track art still has to look at least decent. Don't submit something that looks like it was made in MS Paint within 10 seconds.

● Make sure your rush track consists of at least 4 tracks that have already been released. You can do more than 4 if you wish.

● Track has to be made in Complete Mode. Quick Mode tracks are lazy, and they can't be mixed with CM anyways. (Not like you're gonna have enough space on QM for a rush track lmao)

● Track art has to be made by you, unless you have permission from the original creator. Don't steal art, pretty standard. If you wish to use someone else's track for your rush track, ask them first. Of course this doesn't apply if it's a remake you made.

● Make sure your track has good colissions. If the track's colissions are complete ass I'm not accepting it.

● Have patience. I'm not online 24/7 so I won't respond immediately and it might even take a couple days. If you ask why I'm taking my time to judge your track I'm instantly rejecting it.

● You only have to provide a collab link if your track is accepted. Either on this topic, in my DMs or on Discord. I'll let you know when your track is accepted. If your track is rejected, I will react with a ❌.

How does the Reverse Drift mechanic work?

Zeals wrote:
Hello everyone! I want to preface this by letting you all know I am completely brand new to the Mario Kart series and discovered this game while searching for something to play in class. With that being said, I am looking to elevate my game and perhaps take a couple records for myself. Something that stood out to me immediately was a technique I have seen in most world record runs, which I believe is called Reverse Drifting. I went through some old posts, and surmised that involves drifting while using the up and down keys to control my kart, but that just seems too simple. If I have missed something here, please let me know. Also, if there are any other important mechanics I should learn, please comment those as well. I look forward to getting to know you all and plan on being active here as much as I can. Thanks in advance! :p
The first topic that I ever created was also a "How does Reverse Drift work" topic and a lot of people helped me xD But that was back in 2023.

Reverse Drift is a technique used by many pro players nowadays, but it can be quite complex to understand at first so I'm going to explain to you each word in "Reverse drift" so you can understand it clearly.

β€’ Reversing, in Mario Kart PC, involves pressing your brake/backwards key while turning in any direction so that your character goes in the opposite direction from where it is facing.
In the example below I am holding my forward key and my left key at the same time to go left. As you can see, when I am holding my brake/backwards key I am going right instead of left. This is what we call "reversing" in Mario Kart PC.
https://file.garden/ZxPdgZtLSWeNpbc5/MKPC%20Random%20Stuff/MKPCReverse().gif
There is no possible way to really brake in Mario Kart PC while turning

β€’ Drifting, in any Mario Kart game simply allows the player to charge mini-turbos or super mini-turbos.
In the example below I am charging mini-turbos and chaining my drifts to gain more speed! This is essential if you want to really improve at the game.
https://file.garden/ZxPdgZtLSWeNpbc5/MKPC%20Random%20Stuff/MKPCDrift().gif
As long as you can get more speed, don't hesitate to do it!

Now that you know both these things, by charging super mini-turbos and continuously chaining your drifts ALL while adjusting your lines by reversing, you do what we all refer to as Reverse Drifting.
If you are having troubles to reverse drift still, try to check my key presses and reproduce them! Make sure to always hold forward and your directional key aswell as chaining your drifts while pressing your brake/backwards key from time to time whenever you want to adjust your lines.
https://file.garden/ZxPdgZtLSWeNpbc5/MKPC%20Random%20Stuff/MKPCReverseDrift().gif
Essential to become a top player!

I really appreciate this step-by-step guide, thanks a lot! I had it mostly figured out, but the tutorial I was following told me to spam reverse which kept messing me up lol. Are there any tricks to getting this down on a difficult map such as Rainbow Road? Also, is it better to always use this technique instead of regular drifts?

You should be reverse drifting pretty much the entire time. (look at any wr)

As for doing it on harder tracks, you'll just do it naturally once you get the hang of things.

Spoiler [ShowHide]
Day 1 - Open da gifts: Solid first challenge, nothing crazy but not bad either

Day 2 - Open da boxes: Kinda similar to day 1 so wish they were spaced out more, but still a cool challenge

Day 3 - Drive in the pyramid without having fun: Well this quickly went south. Boring as hell and slightly rng dependant, not to mention the track being 5 laps long making it last over 3 minutes of doing absolutely nothing

Day 4 - Mario Circuit 1 but fast: Not much to say other than it just being a very fun challenge, I am a good reviewer I swear

Day 5 - Coins on da beach: Feels like filler, this is the most average challenge of all time. Boring quick mode track and the coins aren't really put into any clever spots either (common quick mode L)

Day 6 - Dodge stuff as Toadette: I like dodging stuff but this was pretty easy, also Monty Moles are not good decors for a challenge like this since they just pop out of nowhere

Day 7 - Collect coins in da sand pit: Nice short challenge, no negatives to say

Day 8 - Coins on da beach (but good): Basically everything Day 5 wishes it could be. Coins are all put in clever spots

Day 9 - Racial war against slimes: Cool challenge, however the slime decors are probably the worst pick for a challenge like this since they can just despawn at any moment (yes it's technically not rng, but no it does not matter)

Day 10 - Coins at da roca picudas: Probably my favourite coin challenge, requires some nice routing and you actually need to use the time trial mushrooms which are often ignored in challenges

Day 11 - Shy Guy is going to die: fun challenge, I cheesed this one so bonus points for that

Day 12 - Big Maze: Another one I cheesed, the fact Wargor programmed it so you couldn't just take the image was really cool and I felt INCREDIBLE when I eventually outsmarted him, even though this probably took more time than just beating it normally

Day 13 - Commit robbery to kill fish: Really clever pow usage and hitting the cheep cheeps can be a bit challenging as well, especially if you're stupid enough to go for the first 5 cheep cheeps instead of the 5 cheep cheeps that are in a straight line. What really hurts this challenge tho is the fact it's quick mode. I'm fine with quick mode if it's for a challenge but the stupid 1 pixel wide holes on shy guy beach makes this really annoying

Day 14 - Dumbass puzzle: It was a cool idea I guess? I brute forced my way through this one ngl, wouldn't have figured out the solution if other people didn't tell me. But even when you know the solution, there's a 30 second time limit so you don't even have time to think.

Day 15 - Bro ate too much: Probably the most infamous challenge lmao. This challenge is hard as hell ain't gonna lie and let to several debates on challenge difficulty in the Discord lol. As much as I hated this, I honestly really like this challenge. It's not rng dependant which most "difficult" challenges tend to be and it's nice to have something hard as most of the challenges in this calendar are incredibly easy

Day 16 - Impossible possible puzzle: I like 'puzzle tracks' like this so I had fun, even though I already beat it earlier so it was a breeze for me

Day 17 - POW: Incredible challenge, really fun and cool and original. Excellent practice for pow dodging if people still aren't too familiar with the item (it's been 3 months man learn the game) and also a nice bonus unlock of an INCREDIBLE custom character. Challenge does have some rng but if you're skilled enough you should be able to dodge pow every time, though it can get quite hard at times when several pows stack on top of each other

Day 18 - Jump on da boos: Nice little platforming challenge that some people apparently struggled with lol, not much to say on this one it's just good

Day 19 - Cursed boobs or something: 'Battle mode bosses' is one of the worst genre of challenges imo, it's easily the worst case of rng = difficulty in this game, anyway I beat this boss almost entirely by standing still lmfao

Day 20 - Extreme difficulty king boo race: Neat idea but the restrictions can be negated very easily lol

Day 21 - Racial war against snowmen: Another glorified coin collection mission but still a good one, can get pretty tense as the challenge goes on

Day 22 - World's somewhat difficult game: I like dodging balls. Jokes aside, one of my favourite challenges. My only criticism is that the red balls can spawn right in front of your face which isn't very fair

Day 23 - Drive 4 tracks without having fun: Oh boy where do I even begin on this one, I am baffled someone thought this was a good idea. They really just picked one of the worst challenges (day 3) and said "Now you're gonna do it 4 times", it feels more like a joke honestly. This takes like 8 minutes to beat on a succesful attempt. I'm starting to understand why you forum kids always yap about things unrelated to MKPC, because this game is incredibly boring without reverse drifting. Add some rng dependancy on top of that and a very poorly programmed track (Rainbow Road) and you got yourself the worst challenge of the calendar.

Day 24 - Like 100 challenges in one: Luckily we don't end on a bad note as the worst challenge gets followed by the best challenge. I won't go in depth much as people still need to beat it, but I really like how broken this track is. It feels more like a sandbox and I hope Tox doesn't patch it ngl

Overall thoughts on the calendar: most challenges were pretty good but there naturally were some stinkers as well. The fact that all these challenges have to be possible without reverse drifting does kinda suck though, shows that there's some big skill gaps in this community. Hopefully we could possibly get an easy advent calendar next year, with a second "hard mode" calendar or something.

Anyway ggs if you read it this far, hope you'll note some things down if you're planning to make some challenges yourself (maybe it'll appear next year)

Merry christmas everybody, go spend time with family and friends instead of being on this Mario Kart fansite

Hi people,

What are some replacements for paint.net? I'm on a stupid chromebook so it won't run a bunch of file types. Paint.NET doesn't work bc it has to on a Windows device, as well as being .exe, which just doesn't work on Chromebooks. Ones that work

What's the Reverse Drift and how do you do it?

While playing online some people told me about a "reverse drift" but I don't know how to make it and I don't even know what it is...
If anyone could tell me more about it that could be pretty nice

First, start a tight drift on any side you want. Then, to adjust your lines and not run into walls, you want to press your brake/backwards key. It will make you go on the opposite side of where you're looking at.

Please get good at the game now.
