Maken Moozac's Grand Prix

=== Announcement - MMGP+ ===
Yep, MMGP ain't done yet.
I'm excited to announce that as of today, Maken Moozac's Grand Prix will be receiving 16 BRAND NEW courses, collectively known as MMGP+!
Originally, these Courses were planned to be their own new Multi-Cup, separate from MMGP. However, as the course lineup developed, the overall vibe and themes were becoming bit too "out-there" and unconventional to stand on their own, which is why they're joining the MMGP roster as bonus courses.
As mentioned, these new courses will explore much more wild and exciting themes, compared to MMGP's base tracks, which follow more traditional Mario Kart themes. Better yet, the first of these courses is already out and ready to play!
Welcome to Doodle Drive, a crudely-drawn circuit full of childlike wonder, complete with goofy looking obstacles, and whimsical music.
Doodle Drive is available to play right now here:
https://mkpc.malahieude.net/map.php?i=113095
I'm excited to begin this new chapter of MMGP with you all, and I have a ton of crazy ideas I can't wait to show off. But until later, peace out!

=== MMGP Behind the Scenes - Maken the Tracks ===
As some of you may known, MMGP was in development for about 4 Months, but what you might not know is that I've been saving behind the scenes content the entire time. I'll be sharing the best of MMGP's BTS content over the next while, starting off with my course design!
I'll be using the development history of Sandstorm Dunes to showcase my process.
Step 1. Concept and Preperation
When I first began MMGP, I didn't have any idea about track orders or Cup layouts (As you'll see later) but by the time we got to Mario Circuit, I had a general idea of what themes the final few courses were going to be: Farm, Ice, Sky, Bowser's Castle, Rainbow Road, and of course, Desert.
Going into designing Sandstorm Dunes, all I knew about this course is that it was a Desert track in the Grand Star Cup. The "Split Path" idea wasn't even thought of until Step 2. Which brings us to-
Step 2. Beta Designs
With a basic concept in mind, I began working on the layout. I usually picture the different sections of the course as I'm designing, but keep the visuals basic for simplicity sakes. A good rule for course design is to feature at least 2 visually distinct sections, otherwise your course may seem dull and unexciting. Of course there are exceptions, but it is still a good rule to keep in mind.
I usually just draw rough squiggles and lines to see what works, while implementing any unique shapes and ideas into the design, which is what lead to the "Split Path" gimmick seen in the final track. Of course, if you're ever designing a track, don't feel like you have to add some crazy gimmick: Good course design is a track with a fun and interesting idea, but great course design is a track that is still fun and interesting even after removing said idea.
So after some more rough work, DesertBeta1 was complete! I used "Beta" versions of tracks to test out the layouts before I start the real work. This is done to check things like difficulty, CPU compatibility, balance, and enjoyability.
DesertBeta2 implemented a few layout changes to make the race shorter, and make the routes more balanced. And since this was the layout I was most likely to use, I also polished the edges to make it look nicer.
And with that, Sandstorm Dunes was ready for its big makeover!
Step 3. Final Designs
With the layout finalized, it was time to begin adding the proper visuals to the course! As you can tell by the layout, I already had a few ideas in mind: Including the village/bazaar section in the top left, with the square layout and tight corners.
I decided to make the other route canyon-themed, given the somewhat layered style of the layout and long narrow roads. But this is when I realized I donked up.
It turns out that the two routes were still unbalanced, and the left side was still faster. Additionally, I felt the Canyon section was too dull visually. Thankfully, I was able to kill two birds with one stone by creating a new bridge/pit section over part of the old canyon!
It finally balanced out the routes and added an extra layer of personality to the stage.
Whew, we're almost there-
Step 4. Full Assembly
This step is straight forward- Just doing all the standard complete mode stuff like items, decors, routes, holes, walls, skyboxes, jumps etc. The only hurdle left to overcome is the testing.
CPUs will destroy any confidence you have in your track design, so I always like to push my courses to the limits when testing them. When you're testing a course, I recommend you create a race with 100 Participants in either 200cc or 300cc, because if your track works there, it'll work basically anywhere.
And after that, all there's left to do is upload! Designing Courses for MMGP can be frustrating at times, but it is still great fun. I can't wait for my next batch of courses, because now that I've learned so much about designing MKPC Courses, I can try new things, design even wilder courses, and make them better then ever.

=== Course Showcase - Rainbow Road ===
i'm not crying you are
As is Mario Kart tradition, we can always count on Rainbow Road to wrap things up in style, and that's no different here in MMGP! This rendition of the iconic course is actually quite unique, as it is a compilation of the previous 15 Courses, combined into one grand, final journey throughout MMGP.
Similar to Cloudshroud Kingdom, Rainbow Road is a sectional course. Section 1 is centered around the more traditional Rainbow Road aesthetic, which takes you through a reimagining of all the Heart Cup Courses: Mario Circuit, Moo Moo Pastures, Mini-land, and Candy Coast.
Section 2 takes a sci-fi turn with space stations and far away planets. It features the Cloud Cup courses: Sarasaland Speedway, Shy Guy Creek, Waluigi Stadium, and Yoshi Isle. Mount Sherbet also makes an appearance in the form of a frozen landscape.
It all culminates in the third and final section, which pushes your driving skills to their limits with an almost obstacle-course design. The layout here is derived from The Last Resort, Cloudshroud Kingdom, and Sandstorm Dunes, with dangers from Maken Moozac Circuit, Mushroom Highway, and Bowser's Castle all coming together to create an intense final lap.
If you're looking for a real challenge, try this course on 200cc. In fact, I haven't even beaten the course on this speed yet! I know, embarrassing.
Play Rainbow Road here now!

=== Course Showcase - Cloudshroud Kingdom ===
That ain't Cloudtop Cruise
Cloudshroud Kingdom is one of the two MMGP courses that comprises of one long gap with various sections, rather then the traditional 3-laps. The stage is set atop the clouds in a hidden kingdom.
Similar to Mario Kart 8 Deluxe's Cloudtop Cruise, you'll drive on Airships, Beanstalks, and through raging storms. However, Cloudshroud Kingdom also takes you through a familiar-looking local...
The Sky Castle featured in this course takes inspiration from the Cloud House from Super Mario 64's Rainbow Ride. Most notably, the iconic Blue Roof is used to color the castle's walls!
More notably, the table from the original level also makes an appearance, where you actually have to quickly trick over it when entering the castle. I know, crazy stuff. Actually, if you're quick enough on the ramp entering the castle, you can perform a pretty OP cut, skipping the entire castle section without losing checkpoints. I shouldn't have said that but whatever lol
Fun Fact: This castle theme wasn't originally planned for the course, as it was first called Cloudshroud Skyways. However, I didn't want the track to blend in completely with Cloudtop Cruise, so I decided to work in the kingdom theme.
But for many, this course's highlight is the yoshi-valleyesque final section, where you must navigate one of three alternative routes, while maneuvering through the violent storm overhead.
I promise the routes are all actually very balanced I swear...
ahem anyways-
Cloudshroud Kingdom and it's RMX Variant are both available to play now, with Cloudshroud Kingdom RMX being the only RMX to have a completely different setting to its original variant!

Check out the trailer for MMGP too!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q-60EWy5mGg
MMGP's full release comes alongside its final Course, Rainbow Road. This gauntlet features a little bit of every other course thus far, all brought together into a challenging yet spectacular finale to the Multi-cup.
Play Rainbow Road here:
https://mkpc.malahieude.net/map.php?i=111549
With all 16 Courses released, the final standard cup was also unveiled: The Grand Star Cup! This Cup houses MMGP's most extreme Courses, with a Bowser's Castle and a Rainbow Road to cap things off, as is Mario Kart Tradition:
Sandstorm Dunes
Mushroom Highway
Bowser's Castle
Rainbow Road
And with every new Cup comes a new Driver, unlocked by beating the Grand Star Cup Champion challenge, where you must get a prefect score of 40 Points:
Play the Grand Star Cup here:
https://mkpc.malahieude.net/map.php?cid=38506
With Rainbow Road's inclusion, we are still only at 31/32 Courses, so there's still one left to discuss...
Rainbow Road RMX is the 32nd and truly final Course of MMGP! This course takes the difficulty of Rainbow Road and cranks it up to 11, with extreme turns, an army of obstacles, and the risk of falling at every turn, this course is not for the faint of heart!
Play Rainbow Road RMX here:
https://mkpc.malahieude.net/map.php?i=111639
And as with Rainbow Road, Rainbow Road RMX brings with it a new Cup: The Superstar Cup takes the RMX variants of MMGP's fan favorites and puts them together for one final romp through the best of MMGP:
Mount Sherbet RMX
Shy Guy Creek RMX
Cloudshroud Kingdom RMX
Rainbow Road RMX
The final RMX Cup also means the final Koopa Shell, unlocked by beating the Superstar Cup
Champion Challenge! You must earn a perfect 40-point score while fulfilling ALL conditions from previous RMX Cups: Auto Accelerating, No Items, and Inverted Controls- A true test for even the best MKPC Players. But behind this brutal challenge is one final Koopa Shell:
Play the Superstar Cup here:
https://mkpc.malahieude.net/map.php?cid=38507
And that's pretty much it! There are still a few tweaks and minor additions that need to be made before MMGP is officially complete, plus I intend to keep the Topic going with more content for a good while, but besides that, MMGP is basically wrapped up!
I want to thank everyone who has supported me and MMGP throughout the last few months. Creating this project was a blast, and I look forward to creating even more content for MKPC in the future.
Happy Racing!

Marty is of course the fan-favorite green thwomp from N64 Bowser's Castle, who became a bit of an urban legend in the early 2000's, when rumors spread that he was a secret unlockable driver in Mario Kart 64. While this sadly wasn't true, Marty has finally gotten his time to shine!
Marty is an absolute powerhouse, with a massive weight stat and not much else. Driving with him may be a challenge, but you certainly aren't going to be pushed around.

=== Announcement - Cloudshroud Kingdom and the Hammer Cup ===
The wait is finally over, a new MMGP course has arrived!
Cloudshroud Kingdom is the final course of the Hammer Cup, and is one of the two standard sectioned courses in MMGP. This stage is set in a royal kingdom wayyy up in the sky, complete with airships, a floating castle, and more!
Play Cloudshroud Kingdom here, and expect Cloudshroud Kingdom RMX in the coming days!:
https://mkpc.malahieude.net/map.php?i=110117
That's not all the news I have today, as it is time for a new Cup! While the Grand Star Cup holds MMGP's most difficult tracks, The new Hammer Cup houses the most ambitious! Featuring MMGP's more unconventional and out-there courses:
Maken Moozac Circuit
Mount Sherbet
The Last Resort
Cloudshroud Kingdom
The Hammer Cup is also available to play now, and is the last MMGP Cup to be released before the final, full release of the entire Multicup:
https://mkpc.malahieude.net/map.php?cid=38120
And with a new Cup, comes a new unlockable character, which you can nab by beating the Hammer Cup Champion Challenge, where you must place 1st in all 4 races in Grand Prix mode.
Hellen Gravely from Luigi's Mansion 3 finally makes her playable debut in MMGP, after first being revealed all the way back in April!
Hellen is a powerhouse with a short temper, so her default stats make her very hard to push around, and easy for her to get back on her feet. However, drifting isn't her strong suit, so she works best on Courses with long straight-aways and very little turns.
Master the Hammer Cup to unlock Hellen now!
And that's all the major news for now. Expect Cloudshroud Kingdom RMX soon!
Oh! I almost forgot- With the release of Cloudshroud Kingdom, there is only one Course left to go until MMGP is fully complete! And I'm pretty sure you all know what it'll be...

=== Announcement - I'm not dead! ===
Hey racers!
I know its been a while since I've shared any MMGP news, but I've been working really hard on these last two courses. I don't want to reveal anything yet, but I can confirm they are both sectional courses...
Anyways, I promise to have the Hammer Cup ready to go sometime in the next 2 weeks. Thanks for all your patience!

I never talked on this topic, but I still follow this project and it's just amazing, even if I saw some bugs on RMX Bowser Castle '^^
And honestly since the project seems to be finished soon I can say that i'm hyped for it ^^

ayy tysm! And thanks for letting me know BC RMX had a few issues, I think I just patched most of them this morning, although the CPUs do still struggle on the more tighter turns on >200cc. But regardless it should play a lot better now. Thanks again.

The Adventurer Cup is the second RMX cup in MMGP, but the third to be introduced, meaning there is still one final RMX Cup left to come, including Shy Guy Creek RMX, Mount Sherbet RMX, and the variants of MMGP's final two courses. Expect the final RMX Cup with the release of the last MMGP Course.
As I'm sure you know, there is one more item to attend to, this Cup's unlockable Koopa Shell! With each RMX Cup comes a Koopa Shell driver, that can be unlocked by earning a perfect 40-point score in Grand Prix, with a special condition to make things a little more interesting.
The Adventurer Cup is no different, as you can unlock another Koopa Shell by completing the Adventurer Cup Champion challenge, by getting a perfect score in the Grand Prix without using any items. The best explorers can get by with just their willpower and strength! (and massive amounts of luck)
Play the Adventurer Cup here, and try to nab that Koopa Shell today!

That's all for now, but keep an eye out in the coming days, as up next will be the release of MMGP's 15th Course, along with the Hammer Cup and a new Driver. Stay Tuned!

wow, this "Maken Moozac" guy must have a pretty inflated ego
Maken Moozac Circuit is the first track of MMGP's Hammer Cup, set on a bustling Raceway surrounded by the sea. The course takes inspiration from GCN Yoshi Circuit, with the outline of the Course being the Logo of yours truly!
Being the opener for the penultimate Cup, this Course hurls quite a few challenges at the player. Throughout the track, you'll encounter several different obstacles, including Goombas, Piranha Plants, and oncoming traffic.
But enemies aren't your only concern here, as the middle of the Course features a tight intersection, which could cost you the race if you aren't paying close attention to the coloured signs!
And while it's not a very open Course, there are still a few chances for some shortcuts; You may notice some patches of grass that are lighter then the others. Boost through these to gain the advantage!
Maken Moozac Circuit is ready for racers right now here:
https://mkpc.malahieude.net/map.php?i=98157
Lol. It was redesigned.
IMHO the redesign is better.
Oh yeah idk why but for a lot of courses I ended up doing these showcases right before they got completely overhauled womp womp

=== Course Showcase - Mount Sherbet ===
Ah- Aurora Borealis?! At this time of year, at this time of day, in this part of the country, localized entirely within your kitchen?!
Mount Sherbet is a fresh take on an old Mario Kart staple: Ice Courses. Mount Sherbet is jam-packed with everything we've come to expect from the Mario Kart series' colder courses, paying homage to the snow courses of old. In particular, N64 Sherbet Land, N64 Frappe Snowland, and DS DK Pass.
Frappe Snowland was especially an inspiration while designing this course, with a majestic night sky overlooking endless snowy plains. Plus we just got to mention the Skybox- nothing captures the magic of ice courses quite like some northern lights.
As the name suggests, Mount Sherbet is, well, a mountain. Most of the course it set at the foot of the mountain, but the last part of the track takes you through the tunnels of an ice cave, reminiscent of N64 Sherbet Land. To spruce up the scenery, some pretty crystals were also scattered about, just don't get too close!
And of course there's a shortcut hidden away off to the sides of the track, but I highly recommend you proceed with caution, as it is a very tight and slippy road to navigate, you might want to have a bit of MKPC experience before you give it a whirl in a race.
Mount Sherbet is available to play now, in addition to its recently released RMX variant (Which has become the most popular RMX Course in a single day!)

OH MY GOD I just copped the fact the course showcases are the exact same as the ones Nintendo is doing for the bcp LMAO I swear that wasn't intentional

=== Course Showcase - Sandstorm Dunes ===
♪ Do you ever feel like a plastic bag,
Drifting through the wind, wanting to start again? ♪
The Grand Star Cup is the final of the main four cups in MMGP, and as such, its opening number should be something quite special, and Sandstorm Dunes delivers!
This course is not like others in MMGP, as it is divided into two separate routes at the start of the track, that only meet up again at the very end. How do you decide which route to take? You don't. Instead, the titular Sandstorm in the center of the track will fling you either way!
The first route you can be sent down brings you into a small village of Shy Guys, where you must weave through the bazaar's many buildings, making sure not to get lost in the near maze-like grid.
You can also use a mushroom to cut through one of the town's stalls. Just don't get any dust on the vendor's carpets!
The second route sends you speeding down a perilous gulch, where you can string a combo of dash panels and tricks, or hop onto a rickety bridge on the inside lane.
Of course it isn't all bare, open road. Spicy Fire Snakes and prickly cacti are waiting to catch racers off guard, so you'll have to keep your guard up to take the lead!
Sandstorm Dunes is available to play now, and as of writing this post, Sandstorm Dunes RMX should be ready to play tomorrow!

=== Announcement - Mount Sherbet and Sandstorm Dunes ===
Good evening racers! It's been a while but I can assure you- this was worth the wait:
Because earlier today, two brand new MMGP courses were uploaded, and are now playable!
Mount Sherbet is a Ice-themed course, set at the foot of a frozen mountain, filled with snowy obstacles to dodge, and slippery roads to navigate.
Mount Sherbet:
https://mkpc.malahieude.net/map.php?i=108115
Sandstorm Dunes is a treacherous desert course, set right in the middle of a violent sandstorm, which will hurl the racers down one of two routes.
Sandstorm Dunes:
https://mkpc.malahieude.net/map.php?i=108147
With these two tracks joining the roster, that's 14 out of MMGP's 16 courses accounted for, which means we're down to the final two: the final courses of the Hammer and Grand Star cups respectively. Both of which should be making their way to MKPC before the end of June, so keep an eye out for any more news. That's all for now!

=== Course Showcase - Moo Moo Pastures ===
Udder? I don't even know her!
Moo Moo Pastures is MMGP's second course, taking inspiration from Moo Moo Farm from Mario Kart 64 and Moo Moo Meadows from Mario Kart Wii. Here, you'll lap around a quaint cow ranch during a majestic sunrise, traversing in and around Farm Buildings, muddy trick ramps, and of course, wild cattle!
As an early course in MMGP, Moo Moo Pastures is a nice little simplistic track. While it doesn't really bring any massive challenges or dangers to the table, there is still a lot of opportunity for strategy with open grassy plains allowing for some neat shortcuts.
Personally, I felt like the Moo Moo courses in the Mario Kart series always had a lot of untapped potential. I wanted to make Moo Moo Pastures take full advantage of its farm setting by incorporating structures like Barns and Silos into the course design!

=== Course Showcase - Bowser's Castle ===
ngl Bowser's Castle is probably my personal favorite MMGP course
Continuing on the Mario Kart Tradition, MMGP's penultimate course is a challenging and dangerous romp through the halls of Bowser's Castle.
Each section of the course is based on a previous iteration of the Koopa King's abode, including Mario Kart 7's Lava Gysers, 64's Thwomp-filled hallways, Arcade GP DX's Radioactive Chamber, GBA 3's bluish hue, all tied together with Wii's sinister aesthetics.
One of the reasons I love this course are the turns: You'll need to pull some really precise drifts to master the castle, especially during the Thwomp corridors. It makes Time Trials of this course super tricky, but incredibly satisfying. In fact, a Time Trial is one of the three challenges planned for this track, so there's no excuse not to give it a go!
And of course, it wouldn't be a Bowser's Castle without a big-ass Bowser Statue thrown in there, but rest assured that this track has all your giant Bowser statue needs met! With some clever Snowball placement, this menacing statue will breath massive balls of fire that will seriously mess up your race if you're not careful!
All in all Bowser's Castle is probably my favorite MMGP course, both while working on it and playing it. And now you can play Bowser's Castle here:

MMGP opens with its own take on the classic circuit, taking inspiration from several iterations of the past. Mario Kart Wii's and 7's Mario Circuits in particular are paid homage to here. 7's inspiration on this course can especially be seen when racing through the track's orchid of cherry blossoms.
As it is the first course of the first cup, Mario Circuit is a nice, simple, raceway, with wide roads and large turns making it an ideal beginner course. But you'll still want to be a real pro to uncover all of this course's shortcuts tucked away into the nooks and crannies of the track...
