The discovery of the NSMT technique (New Single-MT Technique)

Hi guys, and I have officially discovered a new technique and it is time I get to explain it to you guys:
It stands for a player while also snaking, to charge always MTs instead of SMTs.
This is the technique that gives the illusion to charge a MT and snake at an incredibly fast pace without reverse drifting, which is also almost identical to the fast MTs we see in MKDS WR videos.
This technique also will cause heavy characters to be more playable, as a result, similarly to reverse drifting, producing times that are nearly identical or even faster compared to only using Daisy’s stats.
While the technique along with snaking is already difficult on itself, unlike reverse drifting that you need to let go of the accelerator most of the time and drift backwards with often inverted controls, this gets you to only charge fast MTs instead of SMTs.
And the way to actually do it, if you guys don’t got that is essential for snaking and charge only MTs.

Um...I don't understand. Also the reverse drifting SMT strat is actually faster as SMTs have slightly higher speed than MTs for a bit

That's not the worst part. The worst part is that currently, out of the 8 tracks we know are coming, Only one is one that hasn't got a retro/appeared in Tour - Shroom Ridge. All the others do not actually deserve to be made as a retro, especially with the downgrade some have received visually.

They remade Mario Circuit in the base game, and added Cheese Land and Ribbon Road as DLC.

Mon gros problème vient du fait que les IA sont ultra rapides même quand je prends des perso avec des bonnes stats...*[
Mon autre problème vient effectivement du fait que TOUTES les IA peuvent te pousser comme si elles étaient toutes des Bowser...raah
En plus Tiger21 tu mentionnes le fait de déraper en ligne droite, mais je ne maitrise pas encore cette technique correctement...

Hello, I understand that this is a French topic, but I want to say a few words on the matter. The Grand Prix CPUs are on hard mode by default, but they can be beaten rather easily with the right tactics. They're designed to get you to learn how to play the game properly, and I think they do a good job. You either learn good item play, or are encouraged to learn faster driving techniques. Take the time to practise either of these and they should become rather simple.

I know, old topic but I figured I'd revive this: Thanks to reverse drifting I have a 2:59.03. Late timer stop so 2:58. Certainly can go lower as I was on a low 2:5x pace today.

personnaly i wouldn't count the non played time
but there is a lot of RNG so ill try the BEST speedrun and post it here

Every other game includes load times, so why shouldn't we?

DDE is waayyyy too easy
Seriously, on some courses with wider roads it is the easiest way to almost get a WR.

It's easy to learn, yes, but there's no way you can get "almost WR" with it easily. Even some top players aren't anywhere close to WR on some tracks, how can someone who just learnt how to snake get one?

No its really easy, in 1 or 2 hours of practice I succeeded it easily (in my beginnings)


yeah it's easy for you because do DDe is easy actually but compare me to all the players... = it's like compare HACK and NOOB tier


1. I don't understand why it's called DDE (Daisy Drift Exploit) when you can do it with other characters like Birdo, Toad, Toadette and basically any characters with good handling.

2. Fways is right. It's very easy to snake in this game, probably the easiest game to snake of all time. All you have to do is just drift left and then drift right, rinse and repeat. Don't believe me? Then try MKDS. It's simple to learn but hard to master there so there you have it. My statement about the snaking situation.

I agree with all of this.
I do not need to repeat myself: Just because Daisy is the only character you see snaking does not mean she's the only character that can snake, do not name the technique after her. MKDD doesn't rely on Barrel Train Drift Exploit, nor does MKDS with Egg 1 Drift Exploit. Get it right.
Second, yes this game is extremely easy compared to the other snaking games. No extra tech to learn, no manual MTs, anyone can pick it up.

Why are MK8 and MK8DX so low in courses? They have the most amount and are more creative due to anti-gravity.

Anti-gravity wasn't really used well imo. Most of the time it was just used for split paths, or slower paths. Mario Circuit, Mount Wario and Shy Guy Falls are exceptions

I haven't mastered it, but is it switching between (LEFT/Right)-UP and (RIGHT/LEFT)DOWN strategically? Or is it different?

There's 2 different methods for it:
1: Switching between up and down. Intuitive, and it works well.
2. Pressing and letting go of just down. This one is harder to control in my opinion but it means you can go back and forth much quicker and thus cover less ground.

Time to debunk all the ones I can:
1. Sora had to be added. Sakurai stated that Sora was the most voted character in the DLC ballot, which means he had to be added eventually. Having him as the final character to be added in the game and potentially in the series, is fair.
2. Tomodachi Life isn't really deserving of a remaster imo, nor could you even remaster a game of that caliber. At that point just make another game.
3. Mario Kart 9 is rumoured to be in development, they wouldn't give a release date this early in if it was actually being developed.
4. Online Expansion Pack is becoming more and more worth its price. Online costs £18 here in the UK, which means that the games cost a total of £32. That's almost half the price of the games mentioned on Wii/WiiU Virtual Console combined. The emulation is also being improved, so stop complaining until we get a final result.
5. Smash isn't confirmed to be ending, refer back to point 1: "Potentially". The decision to end smash has not been properly made yet, but Sakurai said he was unsure about what to do going forward.
6...okay yeah RIP Alphadream :( But the games were going downhill so maybe it was for the best. (then again you can't really do much better than Bowser's Inside Story)
7. Which ones exactly?

Many things that will need to be fixed.

1. Walls aren't obvious enough.
We need to have an option to make 3D walls (without using decor with custom images) so we can make obvious walls.
2. Some courses
I went to play the official courses, and in some courses such as donut planes (3 I think), I was able to drive freely on the water. Another thing I found was that Rainbow Road for MKSC's ramps aren't there. help Ramps are only placable as rectangles, so this needs to be fixed. Also, some 3D courses from DS are harder because there is no tilt like in Rainbow Road, it is harder because in the actual course, there is tilt.

Other things also need to be added, but these are the biggest, easiest things to fix.

To counteract the second point:
Have you SEEN how thin DP3 is? If the water wasn't offroad, the track would be nigh-unplayable.
As for GBA RR, Um...bit of a problem there. The lack of ramps is the only thing that makes it a functional track, have you seen it in MKSC? If we had ramps everyone would be missing laps due to trying to jump over parts of the track, no thanks.
