Hey everyone,
Apologies for the really loooong wait. The judges have been really busy with stuff happening irl, but now I can finally say
We use a criteria to judge the courses to avoid bias, so no results are skewed or unfair.
Congratulations to the 16 participants in this event, everyone will receive their rewards in the near future.

Have a good day

Apologies for the long wait, we should be done soon. We've just been really busy with irl stuff and schooling, and as you can imagine we would prioritise those before mkpc.
Most of the courses have been judged, so it won't be much longer

is it ok if I post my track tomorrow at 22CEST? 🫶
I'm taking timezones into account so you should be fine. If needed you can also send it on discord.
On 2022-08-22 at 00:50:09
Yes we have decided to extend it a few days, this should allow people to polish off their tracks to maximise their potential
On 2022-08-21 at 02:15:07
Today is the final day to submit something. We have 12 courses in total. Remember every course receives rewards.
Good luck.

Since time is running short, I'm happy to provide short extensions for those who ask for one and wish to submit a course.
For fairness it would probably be a maximum of 3 days extra. Feel free to message me here or in PMs if you need one

Friendly reminder there are 3 DAYS left before submissions are closed. Make sure to submit a track before then.
All participants will receive rewards no matter the quality of the track.
So far we have only 10 submissions, hoping for a little more

Gameplay/Track builder mechanics I'd like to see on this website
On 2022-11-15 at 05:16:31
- Ultra mini turbos are not needed for mkpc. The game doesn't have the right scale for something like this, and the existing drifts are good enough. Plus, all records would have to be reset in TT mode. A lot of people have pretty much agreed that this shouldn't be a thing.
- Final lap music changes already exist (I think this is what you are talking about)
- People don't actually realise how highly requested new tracks are, and how much effort it actually takes to make them for the official game. Don't expect this to happen for a while unless Wargor gets help.
- Custom quick mode music
and different shapes of boost panels isn't necessary
- The arrows are a pretty cool idea, but may also be difficult to implement. It's also probably not too practical, so it is probably not gonna be a priority update

STOP WITH THE ASK ME ANYTHING TREND
On 2022-11-10 at 07:03:53
This idea was so old, I'm honestly surprised it came back.
I wasn't really a fan of the idea to begin with, if you really wanted to ask someone a question you could kinda ask them in PMs (although it would probably be a bit less interesting that way). I don't mind some proper questions being asked, but other than "How did you discover MKPC" (which is super cliché btw) the topics are generally flooded with either stupid questions or unrelated messages.
I would be lying if I said this trend hasn't gotten annoying, because we all know it's just an opportunity for forum grinding at this point. I don't think stopping the topics altogether is entirely fair, but if you are going to post something can you please ask proper questions.
And asking stuff like "do you fart" is only displaying your immaturity.

Wargor forgot Luigi Circuit! / Wargor a oublié Circuit Luigi!
On 2022-10-09 at 22:36:40
just one thing: If you're going to fight for Luigi Circuit's background, why aren't you fighting for Peach Circuit's too?Peach Circuit only has 3 differences from the Mario Circuit: an unique background, deep green grass with flowers instead of sand, and lighter normal grass. That's it. Apart from the unique background, there's only 2 very minor aesthetic changes that don't affect the gameplay or atmosphere that much.
The Luigi Circuit, on the other hand, has much more to offer:
- Noticeably darker colors
- Complex aesthetic elements that aren't present in its Mario/Peach counterparts (soil, ripple strips)
- (Also) an unique background
- An extra obstacle that changes the gameplay (the puddle)
- A more somber atmosphere
Although I'm not completely against a theme for Peach Circuit (or even Riverside Park and Broken Pier), Luigi Circuit simply IS objectively more interesting than these other 3 options. Therefore, it makes sense to prioritize it first.
I think it should be a subtheme for Mario Circuit, same with Boo Lake and Broken Pier, and Lakeside Park with Riverside Park.
Riverside Park and Lakeside Park are the same but with different backgrounds, same goes for Boo Lake and Broken Pier.

@Wargor

(In case you didn't recognize me: I'm Waluigi68)
I recently noticed that one theme is missing in the quick track builder: the GBA Luigi Circuit!
Luckily for you, I made one by myself just for fun and you can download it here^^
Don't tell me "it's just the same thing as the GBA Mario Circuit " because there are some noticeable differences between the 2:
- They don't have the same background
- The grass, road and background color are darker in GBA Luigi Circuit
- The GBA Luigi Circuit has these red and white squares at the border of corners (idk how they're named, if there's even a name for them...), while the GBA Mario Circuit lack them
- The GBA Luigi Circuit has soil instead of sand
- The GBA Mario Circuit has white lines at the center of the road, while the GBA Luigi Circuit lack them
- The GBA Luigi Circuit has an extra obstacle: grey stains (idk if they're supposed to be water or oil...)
Here's a side-to-side comparison between the 2:
Here is an example track (made in complete mode) using this "new theme" as a showcase for how a quick track using this theme could look
And finally, here is the same example track but this time made in quick mode using the GBA Mario Circuit theme, to make even more sure I've convinced you
Still not convinced? Even if the differences between these 2 aren't that extreme, don't forget the GBA Bowser Castle 3 has its own theme just because it has a blue road and an unique background, so I'd say this theme deserves to be added anyway!

It's actually been in the making for a while now, and I'm the one who's doing it. Unfortunately I'm unable to finish off the final 3 pieces as I'm prioritising school.
Also one of the pieces took me 3 and a half hours so it really demotivated me for a bit.
I'll try to give it to him soon

What's the best(and worst) Mario Kart retro recreations in your opinion
On 2022-11-11 at 07:28:39
Ok time to write a lot...
Best remakes:
5. GBA Sunset Wilds on MKT
This remake got rid of what the original did wrong, which was being too long and too boring. Now each section is unique, and the cutdown of the layout was pretty good. It's only at 5 because the track itself was never spectacular.
4. GBA Cheese Land on MK8
Great remake conceptually and aesthetically, the only problem with the track is that it feels too bagging based given the 2 glider ramps at the end, otherwise this remake is awesome.
3. GBA Boo Lake on MKT
It got released not too long ago, but really improved on the original. The underwater section is really cool. I guess not every GBA remake gets destroyed anymore.
2. DS Shroom Ridge on MK8DX
Aside from the ugly mountain design (but I never really cared for the simple BCP aesthetics anyway, it's overhated), this remake is just stunning. This is my all time personal favourite remake by Nintendo because it just plays so well, and the music is perfection. I want to put this at #1, but it didn't change too much from the original.
1...
Tracks that could've made this list:
- Wii Grumble Volcano on MK8 (the original was already good tho)
- N64 Royal Raceway on MK8 (someone mentioned this earlier saying how the remake is bad because you can't go into the castle, that's completely player bias imo, the track itself plays amazingly and tbh the castle area didn't matter)
- GBA Bowser Castle 3 on MKWii (it didn't change much from the original, but also didn't need to since it was so fun anyway)
- SNES Donut Plains 3 on MK8 (compared to the original, this is amazing, but the track itself isn't too interesting)
- GBA Snow Land on MK8DX (cool revamp of the original)
There's a lot more, but this post is already long enough
Worst remakes:
5. GBA Cheep Cheep Island on MKT
Other than the one new section which is actually pretty cool, the rest of the track is really bland, especially the beginning. There's almost nothing happening in it, and a lot of the small islands got destroyed.
4. Wii Koopa Cape on MK7
The track itself isn't bad, but the remake removed what made the track climactic. The rapids section feels so slow and the underwater tunnel got destroyed. I don't really mind the glider ramp, but I think having it as an option would be better.
3. GBA Sky Garden on MK8DX/MKT
It's a terrible remake of the original track, having half the layout butchered. I personally don't think it's a terrible track, it's pretty fun on 200cc. But this list is for judging remakes, so I have to put it here even if I don't want to.
2. SNES Choco Island 2 on MKDS
It's a bad track, and this remake didn't do anything to fix the annoying gameplay.
1. GCN Baby Park on MKDS
This one is super obvious. The track itself isn't that great, but this takes the cake when it comes to boring tracks. There's literally nothing to keep it interesting.
Tracks that could've made this list:
- Maple Treeway on 3DS (same logic with Koopa Cape, it got rid of the net, but it wasn't bad enough to make the top 5)
- Literally any SNES Rainbow Road (at least it's good in 200cc on MK8 )
- Toad's Turnpike on MK8 (it didn't make it more interesting compared to the original other than the aesthetics, but it just suffers from Toad's Turnpike syndrome (i.e. the original was bad))
Remakes I think are interesting to discuss:
- Wii Coconut Mall on MK8DX/MKT (i know it's not like the original, but hating on the new aesthetic doesn't make the track bad. and people complain about the escalators being different, but disregard the fact that it was designed for newer players too)
- SNES Mario Circuit 3 on MK8DX (people say it's the worst in the BCP so far, but we dodged a bullet since we got a better SNES track)
I've tried to keep bias out of this list, which is probably evident in some decisions. Tell me what you think

N64 Choco Mountain on MK8DX/MKT
Out of all of the Nintendo remakes, this one takes the original track an uses it to its full potential. It's got pretty much everything you would ask for in a remake.

MKPC Update Idea
On 2022-11-05 at 01:28:30
I'm just gonna say everything in one post:
1. Just because there is already another topic about update ideas doesn't mean it needs to be used. Chances are it would be revived, and it's not like the intention of this topic was to spam anyway. I wouldn't necessarily call it useless.
2. MK64 tracks have been requested many times as you can already imagine. What I don't think most of the community realises is that it's not as easy as just taking an image and programming it, Wargor has to ensure that the image is high quality too (which would take a looong time). Whilst MK64 is 3D, it's really easy to make flat versions since the tracks never really had much terrain changes. However, adding these tracks won't come any time soon. Same logic applies to new arenas.
3. We don't really need new characters, we already have the community ones. Maybe they won't have the same feel, but this wouldn't be a priority update (also it's not like anyone uses characters other than Daisy). Also the babies are a straight no.
4. 200cc Grand Prix would be cool (but Blue Shroom Cup )
It's also important to note that Wargor is basically the only developer of the game, and he has a life outside of MKPC too. I don't think it's fair to pressure him to release new updates frequently (not that you were demanding anything but you get my point).
1. Just because there is already another topic about update ideas doesn't mean it needs to be used. Chances are it would be revived, and it's not like the intention of this topic was to spam anyway. I wouldn't necessarily call it useless.
