Nintendo just Killed the Popular 3DS and the Underrated Wii U, I thought Nintendo would be Nice and Keep those Online Services. But Nintendo is Being Stupid and Getting rid of the 3DS and Wii U. The 3DS is still being Bought. and It is the Son of the Most Popular Nintendo Console, the DS. But Nintendo only wants the NiNtEnDo SwItCh. The Worst Console.

Switch isn't near the end of it's life and the console is only around 33.82 million units away from the ds. However the best selling ds game only sold 30.8 million copies while the best selling switch game has sold 55.46 million The second best has sold 42.79 million and the third 31.77 million. That is a lot more profit from games in comparison to the ds. The 4th and 5th best selling switch games both beat the second best selling ds game. The switch is far more profitable and, as such, will be continued.
This conversation isn't even about the ds but rather the 3ds and wii u. The 3DS sold 76.2 million units while the switch sold 129.5 in 6 less years. The top 8 best selling switch games all sold more than the best selling 3ds game. They made 236.1 million more sales in those games than the best selling ds game. One of the 8 better selling games only released this year. The switch is far more profitable.
The top 21 selling switch games beat the 1st best selling Wii U game, showing how financially irrelevant the console was. Keeping the servers running costs Nintendo money and it was clearly not a good financial investment, unlike the switch servers which are very profitable. All the Wii U games added together made nearly half of what the Mario franchise games alone have sold on switch.
Servers cost money and are clearly no longer profitable.
Next time make a proper point rather than "Ds GoOd, SwItCh BaD" when the ds isn't even relevant.

An advice as a completely worthless member on these forums : you already grew up a lot regarding your memes and your humor. That's a good step forward, congrats. Now, however, that you have took conscience of that and improved, it would be good to evolve on that point as well ; no, a console's online mode disappearing is not dramatic. Tbh you're making it a bigger deal than it is : I have never played online but it is very clear that every online has its time, and both consoles are going to turn 10 years old/13 years old respectively. With the expected arrival of Nintendo's new console and tons of new content arriving on the Switch, plus MKT's "end", it was obvious that those online modes would end as well. I understand that you might be upset about it but creating a topic to complain just feels.. immature.
Still, I would like to mention once more your improvement in maturity about your humor overall. This forum is often seen criticizing or judging, like the modern society overall, and I'm the first to address my opinions when a problem appears, but I believe that praising the evolution or the growth of a member is also important to make the site feel more positive. Nintendo couldn't have kept the servers bc guess what, it costs money. The Switch is a much better financial idea for them. Also everything Dietsoda said is correct. Tbh I agree and think the Wii U is way better than the Switch (I don't have a 3DS lmao) but they can't keep going like this. They already shut down Mario Maker level sharing and could barely keep MK8 and Splatoon, what did you expect to happen?

Switch is awesome. This is just one feller having a good cry over the retirement of some older console features.
Also @KirbyBoy I feel your pain, but Nintendo isn't gonna keep old servers running when they're not making much profit. You gotta just move on and be grateful for what you have.

Tbh, Nintendo decided to make Petey Piranha a goofy, funny sounding individual in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, and I don't mind it honestly. Same voice from Double Dash, just a bit cuter sounding. And I don't care much about NN going offline. There is already a replacement for such thing, just like how the Wii and DS have Wiimmfi.
