I've played neither but I vote for Wii since the graphics are better, the gameplay is better since tricks and halfpipes are introduced. Before, it was just driving on a road and going on jumps or ramps on handhelds or consoles that didn't have these capabilities so you would just go off them lamely.
But now, you do it in STYLE. There is a bigger community for MKWii than DS, which means you can play with lots of people. There's more mods for Wii, including characters, custom tracks, changing the HUD of the game and that's all I can think of.

Well, Wii is definitely less worse, than DS, atleast. Just wish it didn't look like somebody peed on it constantly.

I think the clear choice here has to be MKWII.
DS is still a great game but MKWII has better graphics which is a given comparing the DS to the Wii, and then The Wii had a lot more banger tracks, I'd say over 10 of the tracks that came along with MKWii are bangers, DS only had a few bangers really.

Objectively, it's Mario Kart Wii, but I played it not enough time, and I have a major problem with the game, I never understood how motion controls work, and also MKDS was my first game 🥲, but yeah the fact that DS doesn't have tricks is annoying

Ds feels very overrated. Sure there's a lot of bangers, but there's also a bunch of mid tracks, and it has THE worst circuit track in the whole series! Also I have nostalgia for Wii.

They are both equally good, but MKWII is the clear winner here because of its graphics and also for its other feats and also nostalgia+community. DS graphics are always comparable, and yes. MK wii wins here.

While I wanna say Wii is better because of the content and gameplay, I won't allow myself to say anything else because Wii's the only one I legally own (I've emulated others though), and it's how I was introduced to the Mario franchise...

it's all about Mario kart Wii- Its a W game for sure. Memorable tracks, roster, AND MORE-! with me having ctgp as well, mkwii is just a good game. I've played ds, but it's not clicking with me.

MKWii has more bangers than DS. Sure DS has unique stuff but MKWii has Mushroom Gorge, Toad's Factory, Coconut Mall, DK Summit, Wario's Gold Mine, and more. DS is just bland and has less quality
