While not against the law, I don't think the use of the characters and so on is authorized. It could get C&Ded whenever some official stumbles across it. Don't think we're big enough to get spotted yet though, unless they have somebody actively searching it up everyday to get people. But no, it's free, and there's no download or anything, it's not a ROM hack or mod or anything, so no, not really illegal. It is unauthorized use of their IP, it is a fangame, but as long as we don't blow up suddenly and have a million plus users and stuff, and they don't go searching it up, or if somebody sends them an email with a link, it shouldn't get C&Ded. But it totally could at any second. Hopefully we'll stay undetected. This has been up for a few years, although that doesn't mean it's protected.

Nintendo ain't slain us yet soo that's some 12 years of mkpc. Also the creator does not gain profit from users. It's legal.

Legal is a bit of a stretch, unauthorized IP usage does exist. We could get C&Ded if the site gets insanely popular.

There ARE some ads and we COULD get copyrighted but it's still kinda in-between. Everything belongs to Nintendo here, however it isn't to be a hack so it's still... I don't know. Legal is not totally true, illegal isn't totally true.

The ads are only here to gain just enough money to pay the web hoster, so the game's servers keep running.
Wargor told me once in private he makes like 5 to 10€ per month from adds revenue...

Nintendo ban Fangame when they could be a (better)nintendo game.For example, we have the fangame pokemon Uranium that have been retired by nintendo. MKPC is not only a game, it's an community. All the concepts like the custom track with custom images could not be in an official nitendo game (i think).
