To be perfectly honest, I prefer this decision. As a competitive TTer, it gives more room for strategies and in some cases, it saves the track from being just unfun. MKPC was never supposed to be a faithful recreation and I prefer it to stay that way.
Valid but i will stand by my opinion that the water in donut plains should not be drivable thats too far lol its dam water cmon

What's really a shame is that the yellow ramps in GBA Rainbow Road don't work; it's a shame, we could have had more interesting ghosts to beat.
that would ruin the entire track

How? It be more interesting. GBA is already my favourite track but seeing no shortcuts makes me sad because to original was so unique and fun.

I completely agree, everything that made it special is gone. I'm not in the heads of competitive players, but I think that even for them it must be more interesting than doing the circuit like a classic circuit, it's really a shame.

Yes, it is my favorite Rainbow Road in the series.

Take N64 Toad's Turnpike, remove all the vehicles from the track, and the track loses its interest. It's the same here.

It's like giving SNES safety rails
Seriously why would they do that.
GBA Rainbow road isn't my favourite track in the franchise (It's MKWORLD Rainbow Road and 8 Rainbow Road is a close 2nd) but it's the most unique

EXACTLY
this is also how i feel about the donut plains bridge gap, though to a lesser extent, that was the main challenge for me while playing on SNES and what made it stand out to me.

I mean MK8 had underwater driving and it changed the track to let you go underwater

I could say the same thing about Mk8 then.
Except thats a mechanical difference, not an exclusion.
Also the track in MK8 is removed half of the second bridge specifically so you would go underwater.
