To put it simply, I have an idea.(Not one that'll come to fruition anytime soon, of course)
So I'm wondering, aside from SNES & DS Rainbow Road
What are the worst tracks in this game to you, & why? Like, if you could change anything about a certain track, what would it be(besides widening it/fixing broken checkpoints ofc)?
This can be just about anything:
Bad Item Box placement(SNES Mario Circuit 1)
Not enough shortcuts(GBA & SNES Bowser Castles)
Too many hazards(Shroom Ridge)
Far too laggy(this track knows who it is)
Crazy stupid shortcut(Cheep Cheep Island)
Hard to avoid offroad(Shy Guy Beach, Choco Island 2, Sunset Wilds, Koopa Beach 2)
And everything in between!
EDIT: Also ignoring how some of them play on different ccs(And by different, I mean 200.)

Since I don't play the base Tracks that much, I'll say one that I heard a lot, but don't really agree. The SNES'S Bowser's Castles should have walls, since they have walls on the original game, that would also apply to Quick Mode

all mkpc base game tracks are lowkey trash, that's why you gotta come over to the CT projects and the CT project lounge where we play actually good tracks.

CT Project is good, but hardly anyone plays custom tracks online period, & lounge is lounge(I'd get smoked)
Also track quality can't be all there is to it bc ppl are still choosing SNES MC1/Figure 8 Circuit/Yoshi Falls/DS or SNES RR online, & even if the other tracks aren't "amazing", they're still better than those 3

KB2 and CI2 both have genuinely terrible track design, with big offroad sections, thin pathways, cramped layouts, random jumps that can send you to the farlands, overall terrible tracks

My fanfic is not cancelled. I just don't really have time or inspiration these days. It might come back.
Edit : @NeverCookAgain wrong phrasing. It will for sure come back, it might come back soon.

KB2 is worse than DS RR tbh.
Cheeseland is also really hard to tell what the offroad is.
I also dislike base game tracks with decors not available in custom tracks (Waluigi Pinball, DK Pass, Airship Fortress, Peach Garden as far as I'm aware.)

It's very likely a skill issue and I don't think its a bad track at all but I've always found DK Pass kinda frustrating with how congested it feels in the first half

GBA Sunset Wilds. The offroad bits. Those mess me up so bad. And it's very hard to jump from one uh, driveable?, patch to the next because if you're not way ahead or behind you'll get bumped. Straight into the mud.

On DK Pass, whenever there is a red/white bit on the edge of the cliff section, there is a wall. This does not apply to the first one though

I completely agree, the RRs are bad because they're thin, but KB2 objectively has worse track design and worse gameplay. Also, while skill is required to win in DS RR, in KB2 it's mostly item luck which is required to win tbf.

The luck thing applies to most base game tracks, especially the SNES ones

GBA Rainbow Road is honestly the only good one out of the three because the tracks width is actually something I can drive on without falling off every three seconds.
