Wave 5's trailer is finally out!!!
Wondering what tracks appear in wave 5?
Well.....

We have:

Tour Athens Dash: Set in Greece

GCN Daisy Cruiser: Racing on a ship? Awesome!

Wii Moonview Highway: Love Moonview Highway, just like the toll booth signs

Squeaky Clean Sprint: A squeaky clean bathroom to race in!


Tour Los Angeles Laps: LA Laps looks different...

GBA Sunset Wilds: We were all expecting to see this beautiful track in the booster course pass,, and here it is!

Wii Koopa Cape: Yes. 2 Wii Tracks in wave 5. This is definitely real.

Tour Vancouver Velocity: We though this would be in wave 6, but we got it early!

Teon5072 People are blind saying SCS is a rectangle/ square.
Moonview being easier isn't a bad thing.
The music is great but the sudden change in Moonview is jarring.
Koopa Cape looks better with brown mountains. And the water section doesn't ruin the track.
Loosing the sunset does suck, but it's not the end of the world.
Athens is underwhelming. Same with LA.
Vancover is good.
Daisy Cruiser is Daisy Cruiser, only one small part changed majorly.
So my ranking for these waves currently is:
5: Wave 1
4: Wave 2
3: Wave 3
2: Wave 5
1: Wave 4

Sunset is lame anyways, even with the sun.
Tour cities are great
Moonview is the Tour version, & the Wii version was super easy to begin with(unless you mean online specifically), bc there's no way it's "hard" in GP or multiplayer
Koopa Cape & Daisy Cruiser are still very nice.
7/8 wave, better than the first 3 by miles.

BowserJr03 I didn't think this wave was awful, but it's in the middle.

Sunset Wilds was expected to be meh but the sun not setting is a bit annoying, hopefully it gets updated.

Moonview Highway is too easy but it's also fair from Nintendo's perspective since a lot of 8dx players are inexperienced or just casual.

Squeaky Clean Sprint is not a square, and even if you consider it to be it's still well designed, and another example of a simple layout working well. Toad's Factory square layout logic here.

Oh and I predicted the LA Laps route, even if it wasn't that hard.

NotThatKrazey Wikis can't post anything but facts, and a lot of wikis are easily editable by everyone. Wikipedia isn't a good source.
Anyway, I remember MysteryMan had a link to a spreadsheet with the Tour predictions using the DATAMINED release dates. Squeaky Clean Sprint was found in August. And Tours are rarely about the drivers, they're usually about the track itself.

BowserJr03 Moonview Highway replacing Mushroom Bridge was a great decision imo, it's gonna be so fun. Now I never have to touch Toad's T*rnpike again Smiley

Also hot take, Tour didn't destroy Sunset Wilds, it cut down on what made the original super boring, although admittedly a bit too much on the final turn.

And Vancouver being moved to Wave 5 was also fine. Being in a cup with LA, it makes 2 cities from the continent of North America, similar to how both Bangkok and Singapore being from Asia are found in the Boomerang cup.

Very hopeful for this wave, might even be one the best ones Smiley

MilesTheYoshi I think the tour sunset wilds remix (especially the final lap) of sunset wilds is one of the best in the franchise, I think the more-than-usual pitch increase for the final lap went really well

NotThatKrazey We don't know about Sunset Wilds. It did in Tour, so there's likely nothing to worry about. I only mentioned that LA was day, not sunset. Maybe that was changed not to take away from another Sunset track being in the exact same cup. Same thing for Bangkok & Waluigi Stadium last wave.

NotThatKrazey That's what the datamines are showing, is all. It makes sense, there aren't many retros left that could be in Wave 6 AND not straight out unnecessary because of a course already in the game. (EG Delfino Square & Daisy Hills pointless because Amsterdam Drift). Between Base 8 Deluxe & Tour, nearly all retros are completely invalidated.

MysteryMan The graphics look amazing, but I'm worried about 2 Wii tracks in the same game, as well as four Tour tracks. (Technically, three, but SCS was made for Tour.) They should've waited 'til the winter wave to give us Vancouver Velocity, but other than that, it looks great, and I can't wait to see it.
