The people painting long and structured messages as hate because they looked at the one sentence criticizing them is genuinely funny to me. That was Osc's biggest message, well structured and everything, I must offer my congratulations as the Ultimate Essay Writer (DR role found !!11!11!1!1!1). Take it or leave it but stop complaining.
"Skill issue" is rude but sometimes it's the truth. Skill issue is just a way to say "the problem comes from you, and you must improve to fix it" in a much ruder way, but sometimes I interepret it as the second sentence to feel better about it and just suck it up lol

I do think there should be a lower difficulty. I struggle a lot with the CPUs, and I've been playing the game for quite a while. I can see where the deniers are coming from, but to me, the point of the GPs is not only to get the characters, but also to get better at the game, and practice for playing online. I think a lower difficulty would be useful, since it could help newer players.
If you don't care for characters just play on VS in order on a lower difficulty
On 2023-09-05 at 16:23:14
I just wanted to say something about people constantly denying the CPU's difficulties.
I notice there being a constant of people just saying that it's a skill issue when a player complains. It's true, but that was known every time that the player asks. It's not about the players not being good and trying to bring others down, it's about there needing to be more accessible difficulty options for new and old players alike.
Another note I had was that the fact that people complain about the difficulty so frequently should be an indicator that there's a problem. I think that it's hindering the new players' experiences more than veterans see, just since they complain so often.
This doesn't mean that the entire game has to cater to the new players, but I also don't think that it should cater to great ones either.
How about there being 2 difficulties, Easy and Regular? And only being able to earn cups and new characters when on Regular difficulty? (Although, unlocking characters doesn't mean much when the cups that give it to you for free exist.)
Anyway, I just feel like the overall experience could be better if
1. New players weren't shoved off for being not good.
2. It was more accessible for new players by adding an easy mode with less rewards.
Thanks!
I'm going to respond to each of these paragraphs individually. Keep in mind, I've been on this site for nearly 2 and a half years, made 192 tracks to my main project, and got fairly good at the game. So I am "experienced" with the game. I also noticed you've been here for about a month, which means you probably don't have the hang of the game just yet?
As for my main point, which I'll start on this paragraph.
So I'll admit it. Calling it a skill issue? Is a pretty rude way of putting it, but it's quite honestly right. If you're gonna beat GP, you're gonna need to get better. Adding an easier difficulty would be cheesing it. And if you want to get better? Then just ask someone better that knows RD or good snaking. They can probably help you. Even me, though, I'm not too great in the grand scheme of things (mainly in item use though which is a lot less of an issue against CPUs as opposed to humans).
You're correct, it does happen frequently. But as you literally say, it's pretty much always from new players. New players, that don't really know what they're getting into. This game has a learning curve. It's essentially the same situation as MKDS snaking; you're gonna need to learn RD, else you don't really stand a chance
The thing here is that it isn't a case of failing to cater to new players, it's just them being, well, new. This is why I've been thinking about making a general "Getting into MKPC" tutorial, because it could help them to become better.
If you're going to add these difficulties (and, by the way, the second stage of difficulty is called Medium. Have you never played VS??????) then I don't see a reason why Extreme and Impossible wouldn't be added. Because, for many experienced players, Difficult is too easy. Even Extreme too, but that has tripped me up a few times. However there's still no point. You'd only be getting anything from Difficult. I've also not yet mentioned that you don't need to complete the main game's GP mode. All you'll get is bragging rights, since there's no point to getting all the characters - there's already copies of them made as custom ones, AND you never want to be playing as a character without Daisy's stats.
My point pretty much is:
You don't need to play GP unless it's on a multicup for a challenge. If you're still getting the hang of the game, play Easy or Medium in VS. Get help from better players.
oh boy here comes osc-omb to hate on everyone watch out people

I don't have a problem with VS. mode, then again it has a difficulty option, in Grand Prix it just felt like I was playing Mario Kart 64, the CPUs are always behind you, and no I am not brand new, I've been here for well over a year or two.
Then why do you have one forum post, if you truly have

Daisy or Peach?
I gotta go with Daisy 100%, even beating movie Peach (Apparently Daisy is heavy according to Osc, you can see it in one of Wals topics)
I was actually saying Daisy is light and that's why you reach the moon after being slightly touched by wario
