It's mainly that the hyped died down. It's just 8 tracks and some characters. The same way Smash character hype dies down past release? That's just how all small DLC works, unfortunately. Massive DLCs that are basically an entire game themselves(Future Redeemed) don't suffer the same way tho.
Imo BCP is an entire game itself
I dunno, it's just a bunch of tracks at the end of the day. The story isn't different, the gameplay isn't too different...that sort of thing. Again, just an opinion.

I refuse to see Tour as MK9. That game is SO bad and not worthy to be mainline.
Counterpoint: SMK is incredibly bad as well and still very clearly the first game. Super Circuit is incredibly bad and clearly 3rd.
Anyway, we only have a year until the next game comes out to settle this. See you all at E3

It is mainline, it's just a live service entry.
Let's Go & Legends Arceus are still mainline Pokemon games, even though they're really different.
Going by that logic you're technically saying that Hisui is Gen 9 and Paldea is Gen 10, among many Pokémon fans that simply isn't the case, therefore I too refuse to see Tour as MK9. Just cause it's mainline doesn't mean that automatically makes it the next full entry in a series. (Sorry my English is kinda bad (tired dehydrated Mongolian moment))
The gens are determined by the Pokemon inside the game. If new starters and box legends aren't introduced with it, it can't be a new generation. The developers also specifically refer to the games as "the next generation" during the directs. They didn't do that for Legends Arceus or Let's Go. Pokemon also has the official VGC stuff to confirm the generations for us. Mario Kart doesn't have that. And Mario Kart doesn't have nearly as many games as Pokemon, so, in theory, every game is mainline until proven innocent. So, having a different developer makes the Arcade games spinoffs. Tour is in house, it's mainline until proven otherwise.

I played MKWii with WiiMotes, Nunchuks, GameCube controllers, Wii U GamePad and even Nintendo Switch controllers (Yeah I like hacking)

Since the Wii U era, Nintendo started to make games really easy, that’s so annoying.
Nintendo has been making easy games since their inception, what? If it was Sony or something, yes, but not Nintendo EAD. They're games aren't hard, they just have bad controls.

But most of the MKWii tracks are in MK8DLX. Why ? Because they're awesome. That's all.
And Mario Kart Wii looks better than SMK, MK64, MKSC, MKDD, MKDS and MK7.
Double Dash is easily the second best looking game in this series, Mario Kart is really ugly.

MKDD's models have way more polygons than MKWii models, and there is WAYYY more possibilities in MKWii than in MKDD, like the number of drivers, karts, modes, tracks, cups, battle arenas, and more, that's why 3D models are meh compared to MP8, MP9 or SMG
