Space for Anything... again

Direct was pretty good, I just wish we'd gotten news on Splatoon Raiders. Good to know there are megas outside of the leaked ones too.

Anybody got any predictions for tomorrow's direct?

It's making me dizzy
didn’t that peak in 2017
2025 will have a better 3D Mario then
I just doubt that bc Bananza already came out. I'm getting it today and haven't played it yet, but from what I've seen it's an incredible game and they can't just keep pumping out great 3D games like this. DK is basically our 3D Mario for a while. That's my guess, anyway.
It's official that it isn't!!
Bananza has the same developers as 3D Mario BUT the game has been in development since 2021 for the Switch 1. A new 3D Mario developed for Switch 2 could definitely be on the way (it won't be out this year tho. The rest of this year is booked)

The 3rd generation of Super Mario started June 5th, 2025. And Nintendo isn't being Nintendo right now
How are you counting generatoons?
July 9, 1981 is for Donkey Kong
November 19, 2006 is Wii Sports
June 5, is Mario Kart World
(Also in SMG Mario said "Welcome new galaxy" at the end, so something appropriate)
Wii Sports is pretty un-Mario related, no? Also calling everything from Wii - Switch 1 a singular era is crazy (as is NES - DS.)
I think the second generation would be Super Mario Bros. Then 3rd 64 (for 3D and it includes the party games and Sunshine) Then DS - Wii with NSMB. 3DS -WiiU starting with 3D Land. Switch by itself simply due to how long it lasted (starting with Odyssey). New Switch 2.
That's just me though. You could go about this anybwhich way tbh.

Here's a pattern:
1981 - The Mario franchise starts
1992 - An important year for Nintendo, with Super Mario Kart being a big hit
2003 - The Gamecube's fame, along with a new Mario Kart
2014 - The 11-year long Mario Kart 8 debuts
2025 - Something's wrong
Genuinely what are you talking about, nothing is happening with Nintendo. We got a new Mario Kart a month ago, and have been getting all kinds of games from them in the time between 8 & World, and will continue to do so. Heck, there next major release is in less than 48 hours. They aren't losing any identity. Not anymore than they did in the dark days of the WiiU with all the 'safe n' slop' spinoffs like Amiibo Festival and Wii Sports Club.
You just need to play more games.
I mean, for Mario's 40th anniversary, I played Sunshine, the Gamecube Parties, Strikers, The Wii Parties, Sunshine, and Galaxy. I guess that helped.
I really meant non-Mario games too but that's good.
If you mean 'where are the games for the 40th anniversary' then
1: World was just a month ago
2: They'll do a direct some time soon(anywhere from next week - September), it won't be announced before Bananza comes out tho.
3: They've got a lot of games unannounced that they're sitting on. Both Bananza & World started as Switch 1 games after all. Raiders as well, probably.
We'll definitely get something, and if not, then maybe you'll be able to play something else.

Does anyone notice how the N64 tracks aren't really in Mario Kart World?
Well, there's 2 N64 tracks in Mario Kart World, those being Wario Stadium and Choco Mountain
Also, did anyone know there's LITERALLY NO GBA TRACKS
in Mario Kart World?
Mario Kart 8 had a lot, and Tour remade basically all. They're probably burnt out/being saved for DLC.
Also before & 7 only had 1, Wii had 2. (DS had 4 of everything so that's not really relevant). They've never really had many.

Can we talk about The Super Mario World. Movie?
Didn't you already make a topic for that?

Canonically!
Canonically Sonic is 15-16
That doesn't mean that he was actually born 16 years ago. Otherwise his birth date would change every single year.
Mario is 24-25. That does not mean that he is exactly 24 now: That 24-25 was said over 20 years ago. If we were counting within the boundaries of reality, he'd be 40+. But in-universe, his age hasn't changed. We can't change his birth date to be X years ago because X years ago is going to change every year.
The age is the age, the dates are ambiguous at best.

Tails - March 7, 2014
Yoshi - November 21, 1996
Peach - October 10, 2002
Sonic is 15-16 in universe. Irl he'd be 33.
Mario is also 24-25 in universe. He'd be 45 irl(based on the interview).
Of course, neither of them are real
So we don't know their actual birth years.
Nor does this actually matter
Because their ages do not make them special or relatable, their personalities do.

Look, we need ages to fully understand their character!
We literally don't. RPGs have disproved this for years.
We don't know how old most party members in RPGs are, but that doesn't stop them from being beloved. Actions and personality help you fully understand a character. Not their age. A 40 year old could be a moron. A 5 year old could be a philosopher-to-be. I know this is a literal pdf excuse, but age really is just a number(in this case)

Bowser Jr. - March 3, 2010
Toad - February 28, 2012
Mario Party 9 - March 2, 2012
Mario - October 11, 2001
Luigi - October 11, 2001 (they're twins remember)
That makes Mario and Luigi born after the 9/11 attack!
Genuinely what are you talking about? Where are you pulling these numbers from bro? Why the hell are you putting an exclamation after 9/11 like it's something to be proud of or interesting?
Copy and paste:
https://www.youtube.com/shorts/oasW_0h904s
That's only Bowser & Jr. tho, where are you getting those other numbers from?
Wait
Ain't no way you're counting 24 years from this year
When their ages were confirmed 24-25 over 8 YEARS AGO
And then you bring up 9/11 (Other stuff happened in 2001 for sure)?
That interview with Miyamoto was in 04!!! 20 years ago! Mario would be 45! That interview was not from this year brother
This new message farming era needs to END!

Hello to all MKWorld speedrunners(and by that I mean Infi)
What's preventing charge jump + walljump over the blocks and onto the interior of the first corner of Koopa (Troopa) Beach? (I don't own the game and am just throwing shit at the wall to see what sticks to make the weaker tracks look a little less boring.) Is the space on the inside of the starting line too tight for the Bowser abomination? It does look quite slanted now that I look...I don't know if Charge Jump alone will clear the blocks either.

Hell FF7R is coming to Switch 2, and Switch 1 definitely could not run that even if it was on steroids.
On 2025-06-09 at 02:03:27
1. They require you to pay to play online.
2. They made a Switch 2 when someone could absolutely mods their Switch and the result is a Switch 2, and then a brick.
3. They shut down the online servers so we can suffer through more pain.
Yeah, hopefully this will convince you to go on strike to Nintendo.
Every console has online subscriptions
Switch 2 is running games comfortably that the Steam Deck could barely handle like Cyberpunk 2077 & FF7R. Switch ain't running that shit modded if Steam Deck can't.
The online servers for every console have to be shut eventually. Wasting money like that is stupid. The only reason that PS3 hasn't lost it's servers is because Sony is still using PSN(and probably will forever). There was no PS3-specific service. If Nintendo had stuck to a singular service instead of trying random shit with their hardware every generation, we would've still had Wii online if the WiiU hadn't failed because they'd be using the same service. Fortunately, we're not going to have that problem for the forseeable future with Switch Online (there will likely be a 3rd and final Switch) because they're both running on NSO. Also NSO is $20 a year if you can't afford that you shouldn't be buying consoles or games at all, atleast until you get back on your feet. Like, if you had Switch online since 2018 you'd have payed $140-180? dollars by now, which is literally 3 last gen games. Like, relax.
Can we talk about stuff like the Joycons not being upgraded at all to prevent drifting(100% the magnetic Joy-con connection's fault this time), or the lack of transparency from them on things like VA changes(even in regards to the fucking VA herself(we'll miss you Samantha) and misinfo prevention, because there was a lot of that shit?(especially about the game key-cards)
There are so many valid criticisms to make but people love to get hung up on the most irrelevant, non-problematic shit.
The Steam Deck couldn't run Cyberpunk because it's too much to run. Switch 2 is a stripped down mess, so why are you even talking about Cyberpunk? If we're being honest, NEITHER console could run the actual thing.
Cyberpunk is literally running on Switch 2 at Upscaled 4K and a smooth 40fps, genuinely what are you talking about?
(Yes it's not on the same level at PS5 but the game is actually PLAYABLE which was my point)
Switch 2 is not something a Switch 1 could be modified to be.

I think I know what that track is...
