Also what happened to the map? Did an ice age just begun or what?

To summarise, yes.
Two nuclear plants blew up (an abandoned one in Manitoba, and a used one in Russia owned by Fiery and Twilight). In Manitoba, the walls of the container that contained very radioactive/unstable elements decayed so much that it collapsed and highly ionising radiation was released, leading to an explosion around 5 times stronger than the Tsar Bomba. It released so much gaseous material and smoke that it has now coated the atmosphere, stopping 98% of all light from the sun from entering, think of Krakatoa and the Little Ice Age of 1816 but way, way worse. The explosion also caused tremors across the world, and some reached Russia, where it rocked the facility there so bad, that it made the nuclear reactors rattle and shake, and as they were already decaying, they collapsed and a secondary explosion happened, leading to even more damage. Now, the whole world has entered a new ice age.

The unexpected suicide of Emperor Joshious III led to the collapse of the Imperial Federation of Joshy and this independence of the Republic of Zambar/Zambaria (the former Empire of Niagar).

Millions flock to Africa, the only place relatively unaffected by the expanding frost, but even the deserts will soon be blanketed with snow.

England's economy comes to a standstill due to labour shortages, yet these labour shortages are being filled by immigrants from Texas (the Red Pikmin State).

The Kingdom of Arabcosta is founded as the only remaining member of the House of Nyan flees to Scotland. This Kingdom is now led by Queen August II.

It is highly advisable to flee underground as the radiation is highly ionising and can lead to death.

Through fire and ice, nature is reborn again.

Taking advantage of the absence of order in the wake of nuclear winter, the Fenrisian tribe under K emerges from their underground habitations and begins colonizing the area around Sitka, Alaska and moving northeast. The tribe creates mines and collects oil and ore from underground, preparing it for shipment back to Sitka for an unspecified project. The Empire of Fenris is formed. At the moment it covers only about 300 square miles (wtf is a kilometer!?!?) with Sitka near its southern border..

Yep, pretty much.
EDIT: I swear I have heard of Fenris before from somewhere else, or am I going insane?

Somewhere near Bernic Lake, Manitoba
MARCUS: Why are we even going here again
JANE: For goodness sake, how many times do I have to tell you!
MARCUS: Yeah, I know...  we're going to the border with the Suprmegasvenians because we dropped a bloody nuke on them. But...why? Why do we need to go when we are the most powerful nation on the planet?
JANE: Look, can we just hurry up!
The sky rumbles, there is a storm nearby
SOLDIER: Alright, we can't continue in this weather, we must set up camp
arcus spots an abandoned military bunker
MARCUS: Hey guys!
He points to the bunker
MARCUS: That seems like somewhere to stay, let's go.
JANE: Umm...I'm not sure. I mean, that was a Nyanist facility, who knows what they were keeping in there.
MARCUS: Jane, I doubt there will be anything there. I mean, their whole empire collapsed, didn't it?
JANE: Nuh-uh, I don't trust it, you can go there if you want, us lot are going somewhere else. You'll come with us eventually. Come on guys.
Marcus sets up camp in the bunker, but then decides to go inside the facility, as his curiosity gets hold of him
MARCUS: Woah! What the heck is all of this stuff!
He comes across a terminal
MARCUS: Hmm, I wonder what this does...
He turns on the power, a load whirring sound emanates across the long-deserted facility

Jane, worried about where her friend has gone, gets up and makes her way to the bunker
JANE: Marcus, where the hell are you!
MARCUS: I'm over here, inside, come!
JANE: Nah! You come over here, outside, now!
A large, ear-bleeding bang from somewhere deep in the facility. Almost spontaneously, the lights go out.
MARCUS: Ah, fu-
JANE: What did you do!
MARCUS: I-I didn't do nothing! All I did was turn on the power.
JANE: You...turned on the POWER?! You IDIOT!
Another bang, this one much louder than the first.
JANE: Marcus! Turn off the power, now!
Yet, Marcus did not hear. Every second that passed, he was withdrawing more and more into himself as he came to terms with what he had done.
JANE: MARCUS! MARCUS PLEASE!
Jane runs into the facility, trying to reach her friend, whose hands were still trembling on the power button.
At that moment, another tremor rocks Jane off of her feet, forcing her to crawl her way to Marcus
JANE: MARCUS! TURN OFF THE FU-

The walls of the container that unbeknownst to them contained the most unstable and radioactive element in the universe, collapsed and a beam of light, heat and sheer power emanated from its centre.
The beam expanded, engulfing everything that entered it's path. The tremors caused by the explosion lifted plumes of soot, dirt, metal and steam into the air, leaving a thick blanket of death enveloping the whole of the region. This plume spread and spread, resulting in a new layer to the already thinning atmosphere.
Now, an eternal winter begins.

Now, scroll down to see the beginning of Chapter V

A nuclear disaster at Bernic Lake, Manitoba has struck fear into the hearts of all across the globe. One such tremor sent shockwaves across Europe, resulting in the research facilities in Russia to completely collapse, exposing more radiation upon the already dying Earth. Emperor Joshious III has committed suicide and his empire has collapsed. Cosmic III rallies his people to stay strong in these trying times. The Technocracy withdraws into the mountains it came from, realising how much damage it has done to the world that it seeked to dominate. Now, the realms of man all huddle together to wait out the perpetual winter. Millions flock to Africa, the only place relatively untouched by the merciless iced winds of the north and south. The icy, nonchalant poles now act as hands pressing at the throat of a dying planet, forcing out the life from the Blue Marble.
Through fire, and subsequently ice, the world is reborn again.

What an interesting thread! I wonder if I could make an empire called: The United Slavic Union. If this is possible,  start me near Moscow, Russia. :)

Sure, but I warn you, russia has been really damaged by a nuclear plant explosion

Cosmic III has been given the epithet 'the Sun King' for his services to his people during this time of great need, and for his efforts to stave off the encroaching winter.

Also, I think using oil to heat up the world is good, but also bad cus you're still deleting the ozone layer

I mean is africa having a winter now, probably not
