What is the difference between SNES Thwomp and SNES Rainbow Thwomp?

If you drive into normal SNES Thwomp you get hit so it doesn't seem like there is a difference.

In the official games, players can't be damaged by a thwomp simply for touching it (unless it's a white thwomp from the SNES Rainbow Road).
In Mario Kart PC however, both normal thwomps and white thwomps will damage the player upon contact.

Ya so there's no difference in Custom Decor Editor, but in official game you cant get hit by touch any thwomp, except MK64 if you hit a thwomp with speed (the WHIRRR work on trees too) but on SMK the normal thwomp do nothing an the star thwomp do spin u and you lose the race often with that
