March Mario Madness

Yet another Mario character tournament on StrawPoll that I'll probably forget about in a week. Here is the schedule and participants:
INITIAL CHARACTERS:

QUALIFIER:
Four of the above characters will be voted out of the tournament, while the remaining twelve will move onto the next phase.
GROUP PHASE:
The twelve initial characters who survive the Qualifier will be split into three groups, with each group being joined by two of six characters from recent Switch games. Who they are won't be revealed until this phase begins. Everyday, one or two groups will have all their members put up for elimination until 12 characters are left.
FINAL 12:
The 12 characters who survive the Group Phase will be on the ballot everyday moving forward, with one of them being voted out each round until there are 2 left. Then everyone will vote for their favorite to win.
The Qualifier poll will be posted tomorrow. I heavily encourage debating.

Bruh. I'm literally the only one that voted 💀. Anyways why did I vote for Florian you may asked?

Answer: I like Florian but he is a recent character and his popularity falls in comparison to the other characters. Characters such as  King Boo, Waluigi, and Daisy have much a bigger fanbase than Florian.

Oh. Well I didn't regret voting him.

I vote for Birdo. Her fanbase is very weak compared to the other characters here. Mellow depise not appearing a lot of games had a lot more fans to support him than Birdo. That also would make sense Mario RPG and the legend of the 7 Stars(and the remake of course) is one of the best games of all time.

(That's just my opinion though).

For group 3 I voted Boshi. This isn't a surprise at all. Boshi is just a forgotten character. He's definitely screwed here. Everyone else has a large fanbase which put Boshi at a MAJOR disadvantage.

As for the other group, I voted for Birdo for the same reasons as last time.

for group 3, I voted Waluigi because i just feel like he's an overrated character that gets too much support. as for group 1 / 2 tho, i voted Pauline because she hasn't really made a significant appearance since SMO (yes i know the BCP exists)
