Here's Episode 9: Pachinko Panic

Lakitu: Last time on Toad-al Drama Sunshine; Violet decided to join Blake in screwing the others over so she can get some more peace and quiet for the short amount of time she had left. However, Blake was worried that Violet would outsmart him down the line, and for the first time ever, voted with Min and Lizzy to take Violet out. Now, only four contestants remain. Who will compete in the final challenge? Who won’t even have the chance? Find out on Toad-al! Drama! Sunshine!
*intro plays*
On the second-to-last week, Lizzy is worried about her position in the game.
Lizzy: If it’s sudden death like it always is, then there’s no way I’m gonna win. Blake’s been training for who knows how long, Danny’s a daredevil, and you’re training to be a Hammer Bro.
Min: Don’t worry. There’s a three-in-four chance you’re safe. If you win, you’re in. If I win, I’ll take you because you’re a close ally, and if Blake wins, he’ll take you because you’re weak, or at least, he thinks you are. But if Danny wins, he’ll take Blake because of everything they’ve done to help each other. I just think the only way you can win is if it’s you vs. Danny, because of his clumsiness.
Lizzy: So you’re gonna throw it for me?
Min: Absolutely not, but I know you won’t take it too personally… You won’t take it too personally, right?
Lizzy: I’ll… I’ll try not to.
Min (confessional): I know Lizzy’s disappointed, but it’s just how the game works. Sure, we can help each other get to the final stretch, but when there’s a million coins on the line, everyone wants that million, and only one person can win it. Although in case I am eliminated, I can increase Lizzy’s odds by convincing Danny not to take Blake with him.
Later, Min found Danny splashing around in some graffiti sludge.
Min: Can we talk about the semi-finals?
Danny: Don’t worry. Blake and I already have a plan to vote you out, so talking won’t be necessary.
Min lost so many brain cells from trying to comprehend why Danny would say that, but she continued anyway.
Min: You won’t believe me, but Blake’s just using you to get himself further ahead. He needs someone stupid as you to carry out his plans, and once he’s done with you, he’s probably gonna take Lizzy with him.
Danny: There’s no way he wouldn’t take me with him. We’ve been allied with each other since the merge.
Min: Okay, but when he turns on you after the challenge, you’re gonna regret sticking with him. ‘Cause he’s lied to and betrayed so many people, so what makes you think he ain’t gonna lie to and betray you? Think, Danny, think.
Danny: Well, what chance is there that I go to the finals?
Min: Based on what I know about everyone else, the highest chance you have is 2-in-four. I’m taking Lizzy because she’s a close friend, but Blake’s taking her because she’s so crushable. And if you want a higher chance at winning, I think you should take Lizzy.
Danny: Blake’s taking me. He wouldn’t take anyone else.
Min: Sure, whatever makes you happy.
Lakitu: ATTENTION VACATIONERS! IT’S TIME FOR YOUR SEMI-FINALS CHALLENGE!
*a few minutes later*
The contestants find Lakitu at a giant pachinko machine floating in the sky, with a Shine Sprite at the bottom.
Lakitu: Welcome to one of your last challenges this season. Each player will be given a FLUDD pack, and will be placed on top of this pachinko machine. There is also a Shine Sprite at the bottom, located in the hardest possible place. The first player to collect the Shine Sprite, and the first player to fall off is automatically eliminated. Good luck. You’re gonna need it.
Lakitu gives each player a FLUDD pack and they find their way to the top of the game.
Lakitu: 3… 2… 1… GO!
The machine has several pegs that the players need to balance on, as well as a few cups in the middle for them to stand in if they need a break. However, the contestants also have a limited water supply, so they have no time to play around.
Lakitu: I also forgot to mention something. The cups in the machine have red coins inside them that you can collect. You won’t be eliminated, but you can’t win invincibility either.
Blake: That’s like 16 coins. What are we gonna do with that?
Lakitu: I was just making an offer.
The contestants make their way down the maze, making sure not to fall off the stage.
Blake: Besides, when there’s a million coins…
Blake then gets the idea to sabotage someone else to make sure they’re eliminated and not him. He shoots himself up to where Danny is standing, and sprays him so hard he lands on the very edge of the maze.
Danny: Oh shoot. Was Min right?
Blake puts his hands on Danny’s, who’s barely hanging on to the pachinko machine.
Blake: What did she say?
Danny: That you’re just using me to get further.
Blake: You bet your left wing I was.
Blake then pushes Danny off the edge, officially eliminating him.
Lakitu: And Danny is out of the game! Our final three are Lizzy, Min, and Blake. Which of these Perilous Piantas will earn a spot in the final two?
The remaining contestants start racing down to snatch the Shine Sprite at the bottom of the maze, but hesitate to go down once they realize there’s no ground below it.
Min: That’s what we have FLUDD packs for, guys.
She jumps down, grabs the Shine Sprite, and flies back up to the top of the stage.
Lakitu: And Min wins invincibility! Now, Min, you have a very tough decision ahead of you. You must choose one of these two players. It’s either Lizzy or Blake. Who do you pick?
Min: I choose-
Lakitu: Choose wisely, your decision is irrevocable.
Min: I’ve thought about this all day, I pick-
Lakitu: Think long and hard about thi-
Min: I CHOOSE LIZZY!
Lakitu: There we have it! Our two finalists! Blake had just been eliminated, and next week, we’ll see a battle between two game-long allies for… wait a second, didn’t we just see this type of setup last season? Oh well. I’m sure it will be very exciting nonetheless. Who will take home our million-coin prize? And what do we have planned for next season? Find out on the season finale of Toad-al! Drama! Sunshine!

And now, the moment you've all been waiting for. Here is the Toad-al Drama Sunshine Season Finale: Champion of Corona

Lakitu: This season of Toad-al Drama has been a wild ride. The season began when for the first time ever, twelve strangers arrived on Isle Delfino, where they would live a life of luxury in between the dangerous challenges that would follow. The Perilous Piantas consisted of Blake, Shelly, Lizzy, Min, Nick, and Furry Bro., while the Nifty Nokis consisted of Will, Rocky, Violet, Danny, Brittany, and Star. Overtime, the teams competed against each other, and the losers would have to vote out one of their own. The first to fall victim were Will, Rocky, Star, and Nick. After they were eliminated, the teams merged, and it was every man for himself. After Brittany and Furry Bro. were eliminated at the first challenge, the next to go were Shelly, Violet, Danny, and Blake. Now, it’s down to just two contestants. Lizzy, the nature-grounded loner who often found herself to be more judgmental than she wanted, but managed to make amends with our other finalist. She’ll be competing against Min, the strong feminist who’s been training for years to become the first ever female Hammer Bro, but who still insists on playing with honor and honesty. Who will win our final challenge, and the million-coin prize? Will any of these players come back for season 5? Find out on the season finale of Toad-al! Drama! Sunshine!
*intro plays*
Pianta Employee: Package for Lizzy and Min!
The finalists wake up to find two boxes at their hotel door. Curious, they open them up to find dummies of themselves. They also see a note.
Min: It says, “Dress and decorate these dummies however you please. These will play a big role in the final challenge.”
Lizzy: Finally, something relaxing.
Lizzy goes outside to find some flowers. She makes a lei out of some teal, purple, and yellow flowers, and finds a butterfly clip to put in her dummy’s “hair.” Noticing that her dummy doesn’t have any shoes on, she goes off to find some, but then changes her mind.
Lizzy: Eh, I guess her paws could use some air. And is this thing adorable or what?
Meanwhile, Min is also looking around the island for materials to use for her dummy. She first takes its light blue hair and ties it up in a bun. After that, she puts on a grass skirt she made for it. She tries to make a coconut bra for it, but can’t find anything small enough.
Min (confessional): It’s just a doll. Why does it matter? And besides, it’s not like the non-humans have anything worth censoring. We just look at too much fanart and assume we do. I’m just glad they only release the transcripts just in case.
Lakitu: ATTENTION VACATIONERS! MEET ME AT THE BASE OF CORONA MOUNTAIN FOR YOUR FINAL CHALLENGE! BRING YOUR DUMMIES WITH YOU, AND DRESS LIKE THEM JUST FOR THE EFFECT!
Min (confessional): The statement still stands.
*a few minutes later*
Lizzy and Min arrive at Corona Mountain and see a long, difficult obstacle course to the top of the volcano.
Lakitu: Congratulations, you two! You have successfully outlasted your fellow competitors, and will now compete in one final race to win the million-coin prize. Here’s how it will work. You will carry with you the dummy of your opponent through a grueling obstacle course. Giant boulders will be rolling down from the top of the mountain, possibly crushing you, and your chances at winning. After a little while, you will come across several lava geysers that can give you some serious burns. At the final stretch, balls of lava will fall down from the sky, and there will be a ton of green sludge that could slip you up. The first contestant to reach the top of the mountain and throw their opponent’s dummy into the volcano is the winner of Toad-al Drama Sunshine. Since I doubt you can do this difficult task alone, we’ve brought back everyone you’ve eliminated.
A curtain rises to reveal all ten previous contestants.
Lakitu: You will each pick two of them to be your helpers. Min, since you won invincibility last week, you get first pick.
Min: Shelly and Violet.
Lakitu: Interesting choices, but you do you. Lizzy, who do you pick?
Lizzy: Furry Bro. and Nick.
Lakitu: Alrighty then. A million coins, and becoming the fourth Toad-al Drama champion, is on the line. On your marks… ready… steady… get set… 3…
Min: Just start it already!
Lakitu: GO!
The players all dash as fast as they can while everyone on the sidelines cheers them on. Both teams get a good start, but once the boulder start rolling down, they start struggling.
Shelly: Grab on, you two!
Min and Violet hold onto Shelly’s hands, and she flies them above the boulders.
Lizzy: Do either of you have anything that can help us?
Nick: I don’t really feel like stealing Shelly’s idea.
Furry Bro.: And I’m all out of power-ups.
Lizzy’s team eventually decides to try and charge through the boulders. They get knocked down to the bottom of the mountain, and Min’s team reaches a checkpoint, where they are greeted by a note.
Min: “Now that you have reached the second station, you must choose one person to stop helping you.” No offense, Violet, but-
Violet: None taken.
Violet runs down the mountain, knocking over Lizzy’s team as they slowly approach the next station.
Min: Thanks, Vi!
Violet: Sure, sure, whatever.
Lakitu: That’s helping! Team Min has a ten-minute penalty!
Lizzy: Yes! We’re in the lead!
Lizzy’s team reaches the checkpoint, and she chooses to kick Furry Bro. off the team. After seeing the lava geysers, Nick gives an idea.
Nick: There seems to be a pattern. If one goes off, it won’t go off again until another one does. As soon as one geyser stops, zip across it and wait for the next one to stop.
Lizzy: Are you sure that’s safe?
Nick: It’s all or nothing, Lizzy. And it works in Mario Kart, so I guess it works here.
Lizzy: Guess it’s worth a try.
The duo carefully watches the patterns of the geysers, and run across the ones that had just gone off. They get past a few, look behind them, and see Min and Shelly running towards them at twice the speed. Suddenly, the team with the penalty was back in the lead.
Lakitu: What a comeback by Team Min! This is anyone’s race!
Nick grabs Lizzy’s hand and swings right past the geysers, allowing Min and Lizzy to enter the final checkpoint at the same time.
Lizzy: “It is now time to prove you can do this on your own. Your helpers must now leave, and you must complete the rest of the course by yourself.” Good luck, Min.
Min: You might need it, but I sure as heck won’t.
As the finalists complete the last leg of the race, the lava balls start raining on them.
Min: This would’ve been so much easier if I had my helmet with me.
After some clever dodges from both of them, they both reach the top of the volcano. They look at each other, possibly trying to start a stare-off, and throw their dummies in at the same time, causing a big explosion.
Lakitu: It’s a photo finish! We’ve never had this before!
Lakitu checks one of the cameras to investigate the results.
Lakitu: By a nose, the winner of Toad-al Drama Sunshine is…
Lizzy and Min look at the host with sweat running down. Most of it wasn’t from worry, just the extreme heat. Still, it was stressful.
Lakitu: MIN!
Min is speechless for a few seconds before letting out all her excitement!
Min: WOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!! I DID IT, Y’ALL! Now Bowser’s gonna have to accept me!
She then sees Lizzy with an obviously-faked smile.
Min: Y’okay, Liz?
Lizzy: Yeah, I’m fine. Congratulations.
Min: Upset you didn’t win?
Lizzy: Kinda.
Min: I know this is hard for you, but look at how far you’ve come. You’ve overcome fears, beat Blake, and competed in the most dangerous challenge this show has seen. You’re definitely a winner in my eyes.
Everyone hugs Lizzy, except for Will, who believes only winners can be winners.
Min: Ah well, ten out of twelve ain’t bad.
Lakitu: Enough of the sappiness! The season isn’t over yet. Have a seat, everyone.
Everyone walks back down to the bottom of the volcano, now rid of its deadly obstacles.
Lakitu: First of all, congrats on your win, Min. As for the rest of you, your Toad-al Drama journey isn’t over yet. Eight of you have been chosen to compete on season 5 with 6 brand-new contestants, whose slots we haven’t filled yet.
Everyone cheers that they’re getting a second chance.
Lakitu: Let’s see who’s coming back. Our first four have been deemed favorites by everyone on the production team. In this group we have our newest winner Min! Come on up!
Next to Lakitu is an old team mat that the returning players all stand on.
Lakitu: Next up is bad guy Blake!
Blake walks over to the mat while everyone in the audience boos him.
Blake (confessional): With the way I’ve been playing this season, everyone thinks I’m basically the devil, when I’m really not. I’m a nice guy back home, I just knew I needed to play hard if I wanted to win. In order to have a chance next season, I’m gonna have to convince everyone I’m not just a vicious backstabber, which is gonna be really hard to do.
Lakitu: Our next favorite is… Violet! Are you excited or what?
Violet: Uh huh.
Lakitu: You don’t sound like it.
Violet: This is the happiest you’ll ever hear me.
Shelly (confessional): Okay, who was smoking what when they deemed Violet a favorite?
Violet (confessional): I’m more than just a gloomy goth girl loner. I’ve gotten perfect scores test after test, and I doubt they’re ready. They never got to see my strategic side, but just you wait.
Lakitu: I’m sure you’re gonna love this one, Violet. The final player on the favorites side is… Danny.
Violet: Wow, I’m so happy to have this dumbass with me again.
Lakitu: The other four players that are coming back are people we decided haven’t gotten enough time to shine. Returnee number five is… Shelly!
Shelly flew over to the other returnees, surprised at her reputation.
Shelly (confessional): I’d say I played a big role this season, helping the winner and taking down the villain. I’ve certainly done more than someone like Furry or Star.
Lakitu: Our next returning contestant is… Brittany!
Brittany: Oh yeah! The dead side character is back for act 2, baby!
Violet: Sure, just bring in the whole Noki crack house. Who’s next, Rocky?
Lakitu: You’d be right! Come on over, Rocky!
Rocky excitedly runs toward Danny, and the two share a fist bump.
Violet (confessional): There’s a three-in-four chance I’m on a team with at least one of those idiots, and I’m preparing to die a second time.
Lakitu: It’s down to five players. Will, Lizzy, Nick, Furry Bro., and Star. The final contestant returning for season five is… NICK!
Nick: It’s goin’ down, Blake!
Nick (confessional): Mess with the couple…
Shelly (confessional): And the couple messes with you.
Lakitu: Here they are, 8/14 of the cast of season 5. I’ll see you guys in a few months… at Bowser’s Castle!
Returnees: WHAT?!
Lizzy (confessional): I really dodged a bullet there. Phew.
Lakitu: That’s right. A new setting, a batch of new players, and the most dangerous challenges ever conceived. Who will become our fifth Toad-al Drama champion, if people even make it out alive? Find out when we return for Toad-al! Drama! Inferno!

I wonder how many times someone would realistically die in the next season but would cartoonishly get injured or be like nothing happened to them LOL

I noticed I've only had a few unintended eliminations, possibly only one, so I'm gonna try to write more cartoonish injury medevacs in future seasons. I'm also considering taking the Scott the Woz route of "death is just a minor inconvenience."

I have that same problem, I have characters I like in a cast and then I want them to either make it far or be out early but things just happen with how its written
