Because I Want The Coins
Unfortunately, it's not because you, a random player, want something right now that it will automatically be added into the game. I've showed you the reasons why the coins wouldn't be a great thing. Therefore coins will not be added into the game.On 2025-05-14 at 15:44:59
I Need Them To Add Coins
I don't think coins would be a good addition to the game because of a few reasons:- Time Trials leaderboard would require a full reset because of the new coin mechanic
- In Online, because of the insane amount of chaos, the player in 1st would win almost every time as being in 1st place is the safest spot in a game (the only item that can kill them is the
Blue Shell). Adding coins would just make 1st place go a lot faster because they will hardly ever get impacted by the chaos going on behind.- It would require EVERY SINGLE creators to add coins in their track which would take an enourmous amount of time for not that much of a great mechanic.
- Some Challenges would become way easier with the addition of coins, mostly the ones where you need to frontrun a track like "Complete the track in less than a specific time..." or "Finish in the 1st position" challenges.
In my opinion, the game is fine without coins. Could you tell me here why do you "Need" the developpers to add coins?

For now, we don't need anymore items. I'm sure you can have lots of fun with all the chaos that these items create during races!

New Battle Modes would be absolutely incredible but it would take forever to code so we are probably going to stick with Balloon Battle for a while.

2which one would you choose
On 2025-09-06 at 21:43:14
Guys, please calm down. It seems like my "which one would you choose" is starting to create a drama and I'm against this.
Instead of judging blindly someone else's opinion, try to first take a step back and ask yourself why did they make that choice.
By thinking like this, you are first of all avoiding any form of drama, and second of all you are debating in a very mature and peaceful way, which is what we're aiming for! ^^
I'm going to explain the differences between the
Poison Mushroom and the
POW Block and why do people think one is good, the other is bad, and vice versa. I will then give my personal opinion on each items.
•
Poison Mushroom:
The poison mushroom was an item first introduced as a CPU Only item in Super Mario Kart. It basically acts the same as the way it did before: It spins out the player and shrinks them for a short time.
• Positive aspects: The poison mushroom being back in Mario Kart PC gives it a very nostalgic effect for some players. This item, being obtainable in the early-middle spots can act like a strong defensive item. It can be trailed and thus block any incoming shells.
Because of the shrinking effect it gives on hit, players have to be very carefully not to hit one because it can definetly ruin their race because of the big time loss.
• Negative aspects: This item can be seen as very repetitive item that isn't necessarily needed in Mario Kart PC: it is basically just a banana but a bit better or a bob-omb but worse. Players may just see this item simply as another trailable item that doesn't have much difference from other items.
Personal Opinion: I don't mind about the poison mushroom, I do think it deserves its place in the distribution although sometimes it can be quite annoying if you're aiming to have a mushroom but end up having a poison mushroom instead. It happened to me multiple times that I wanted to dodge a blue shell with a mushroom but the moment I press the item key to shroom dodge I just end up trailing a poison because I had a poison mushroom instead of a normal mushroom... (shame on me for that xD).
•
POW Block:
The POW block made its first appearance as an item in Mario Kart Wii. Upon using it, a POW block will appear on every player's screen that are ahead of player who used the item, and will crash 3 times. On the third and final crash, any player who isn't in a dodge state or in the air with a cannon or a jump will get spun out and lose their items. This item never came back in any other official Mario Kart games after Mario Kart Wii.
• Positive aspects: The POW block being able to hit multiple players at once and make them lose their items makes it an EXTREMELY powerful item. A POW block has to be used very wisely for it to have a maximum efficiency. Just like the poison mushroom, the POW block being back in Mario Kart PC (with a very rare chance of being pulled in the standard distribution) makes it a very nostalgic item and it's good to see forgotten items being alive again.
• Negative aspects: Despite its extreme strenght, a very probable reason the POW block never returned in any other Mario Kart game is because of how random it is and how similar it is to the lightning.
It's just a lightning but worse for multiple reasons: it only hits players who are in front of the user, it has a less big effect on players and it is predictable. Today, many players see this item as the "mini shock".
Personal Opinion: I'm personally a big fan of the chaos created by every item during Mario Kart races and items like the POW block which can litteraly hit so many players at once and making them drop all their items is exactly what I love to see.
Some people may call me crazy but me loving chaos is also the reason why I like the other hated items such as: Thundercloud, Blue Shell, Lightning and Kamek. I call those items the "Chaos" items.
Of course guys, it's normal if some of you don't agree with my statements and it's completely okay to agree or not agree with something! Everyone is allowed to have their own opinion and it's always great to see different opinions from everyone, even if they're out of the ordinary (just like me liking the thundercloud as an item for example xD). Hoping to see more votes from other people!

/!\ PUBLISHING YOUR CHALLENGES / SUR LA PUBLICATION DES DÉFIS /!\
On 2025-09-02 at 12:16:06
Hello Everyone ^^
I hope you are all doing well,
Recently, the Validator Team have had a few complaints about the rejection of some challenges. They seem to not understand why we make the decisions that we do, but I assure you that we don't reject any to piss anyone off. In our opinions, there is always something that isn't optimized to be a published challenge, and here are some reasons why they may be rejected.
1 - INAPPROPRIATE CHALLENGES
If a challenge has a name or idea that contains swearing, insults, NSFW content... (basically anything bad), it will be rejected. We don't really get this much which is good.
2 - GENUINELY IMPOSSIBLE CHALLENGES
Some challenges are deliberately made to not be beaten by anyone, even people with the highest skill or even TAS if it was to exist in MKPC. (ex. Complete the track in less than 3 seconds) We see this as a way to get free challenge points and potentially rig the system.
3 - SPAM OF CHALLENGES
Basically, do not make a ton of challenges. I know this sounds strange coming from me since I originally created 38 on Bathaniel Nandy, but this can also be a way of gaining a lot of challenge points. (obviously my intention wasn't to rig the system though, otherwise I wouldn't be validator
)
4 - RIDICULOUSLY EASY CHALLENGES
When a challenge is too easy, it no longer becomes a "challenge". It's more of a task and requires little to no skill at all. (ex Complete the Track) In this example there is nothing to increase the difficulty of the challenge, so this defeats the whole purpose of making a challenge. (obviously if the course is hard then it's an exception) For these type of challenges to be accepted you need to add some conditions that make the gameplay a little harder and more interesting.
5 - ZONES WITH NO HINTS
When you are told to reach a zone but there is nothing to guide you, no skill is involved, everything is pretty much just pure luck and hope. It can also be a way to gain points effortlessly.
6 - REPETITIVE CHALLENGES
When challenges are too similar it gets stupid. An example is:
Complete the track in less than 52 seconds
Complete the track in less than 51 seconds
Complete the track in less than 50 seconds
As you can see there is very little variation, and allows you to beat a bunch of challenges easily.
7 - SECRETS FOR SPEED
If you add invisible shortcuts or ways to become faster to get a better time for a challenge, then it's cheating.
8 - UNPUBLISHED CIRCUITS CAN'T HAVE CHALLENGES
Some people have been releasing challenges without the circuit being published. The problem with this is that the creator, who is anonymous, will manipulate the track after release and gain free challenge points. Because we don't know who created the challenge, the person will be more likely to exploit this. This is why circuits must be published first.
9 - FAKE DIFFICULTIES
Please don't think you can get away with deliberately requesting a fake difficulty. (ex. Requesting a Challenge to be Impossible when it is actually Easy) This gets super annoying for the validators to edit, and also reduces your credibility for future challenges. Obviously, it can be unintentional when the difficulty change is small, in which case you're fine. This rule mainly applies to those who think they can exploit the Challenge Point system.
10 - STOLEN TRACKS CAN'T HAVE CHALLENGES
If you steal another person's course without their permission, you are breaking the rules. Not only should you not deserve to have any challenges on it but it should be deleted. If the image was made by another person and permission was in fact given, then challenges will be allowed.
These are pretty much the reasons why we reject challenges. (I may update this in future) Don't assume we do it because we hate you or because we are dumb. We are all human and we will make mistakes every now and then, but you have nothing to worry about if you follow these guidelines. Occasionally the game may bug and automatically manipulate the challenge, so that may be another reason.
If a challenge does happen to be rejected, PLEASE READ THE FEEDBACK before you try to re-upload it. This is another common issue the validators have to deal with, and is quite annoying when we have to reject the same challenge because the creator didn't fix the addressed problems.
Also, please don't get salty if we reject a challenge because we are just trying to do our jobs.
If you want, follow the topic in case you ever need to come back to this.
Goodbye ^^

Original message slightly corrected by Wal68.
)

Number one sorry for making a easy challenge on mienshao plains number 2 what if it's hard for someone but easy for a moderator
- An easy challenge has to be doable for an absolute beginner.
- A medium challenge is typically difficult for a beginner but easy for an experienced player.
- A difficult challenge would be challenging for an experienced player but doable in several trials.
- An extreme challenge will require an experienced player to try-hard.
- An impossible challenge will require experienced players to try for several hours, or even days before succeeding.

Note that this scale is also the one that every challenge creator has to use to rate their challenges' difficilty correctly.

I got a question about challenges: can challenge vandelators vandalat there own challenges?
Of course! We don't need any other challenge validator to validate our own challenges because we are supposed to know how to make proper challenges with a proper difficulty rating. On 2025-07-14 at 19:40:45
Problem: My challenge to get a gold cup has been rejected because the third track https://mkpc.malahieude.net/map.php?i=192686 was stolen from another existing track's image, although I checked and there were no tracks using the image. Is this a bug in the system or a misunderstanding from a validator?
Stolen images are easily recognizable with the item boxes and the decors being part of the track's art image. Where did you find this image?I saved the image from Mario Universe, then used Piskel to edit it into the frappé theme I wanted.
