How did you come to MKPC?

Well, I sort of explain it in my profile but I'll go over the full story here.

I was friends with 2 of the most active UK members at the time, Red5Pizza and CertiKumz. Being in special ed meant those 2 got a lot of time to play. So I asked them what they were playing and if I could join, and I started to grind the game out myself. Fast-forward 28 months and here I am.

Proposition pour le jeu : Rocket Start.

My apologies for unlocking the topic Urban, but I need to interject. What pressing forward from 2 onwards does is bring you to max speed instantly, not give you the aforementioned rocket boost. What they're asking for is what the official MK games do where they give you extra speed for timing it right, instead of what we have, where you could press it almost a second late and get the same result.

what is your fav season and your fav person on here u can pick more than one

I seem to be more resistant to cold than a lot of people, so winter is where I thrive. Summer's the opposite. My favourite person isn't on here so I can't say :(

all of you guy make me feel bad and sad.

People are gonna be mean to you sometimes, it happens. You just need to not let it get to you. Trust me, I've received a lot of hate in these last 2 years.

Mind explaining the situation?

What stupid thing do you remember from class?

My tutor group in Year 7/6th Grade/whatever made our tutor leave the school. He was the one music teacher no-one liked so that was a big W.

Also my history class started an among us debate 2 weeks ago in class. Just glad no-one sussed green :p

Thanks @LuigiDawg .

Wouldn't say Luigi's crawl counts as a move, just a movement option.

Hello! / what is your favorite mario kart car?

I hate to admit it, but I always end up using the meta vehicles when playing Mario Kart. MKWii and MK8 are the exceptions, as I never played competitive.

MKDS, I was only 6 playing it but I ended up being an Egg 1 main
MKWii, I played a lot of characters and vehicles, but mainly the Wild Wing.
MK7, META combo (B-Dasher, Red Monster)
MK8, Tri-Wheeler, Slick
MK8D, Meta combo once again (Biddybuggy/Buggybud, Azure Roller, Paper glider).

What is your favorite move in all of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate?

Ganondorf's specials are by far my favourites to use.

Warlock Punch - Slower, but stronger and more hype version of Falcon Punch, capable of killing at 0% when turned around (and has heavy armour so hitting Ganon usually won't work)

Flame Choke - This move is an incredible mix-up tool. It causes an instant knockdown, which forces the opponent into only a few options, and one of those options (no tech) leads to a confirmed kill at high percent if you follow up with forward tilt. Also Ganoncide is so fun to use

Dark Dive - This one is yet again a worse version of Cap. Falcon's Falcon Dive, but it's an incredible combo finisher and disrespect option which is what Ganondorf's all about.

Wizard's Foot - Grounded version is a fast and safe approach option that kills very early and covers a lot of distance, aerial version can break shields easily and is one of the strongest spikes in the game, as well as being a nice recovery mix-up if you're high enough.

I love this character so much

So yeah....

1. Practise Time Trials, mainly with Daisy
2. Make sure to use shells and Bananas defensively, as any hit you take could lose you the game.
3. Rubberbanding (CPUs gaining speed to catch up to you in 1st place) is a big issue, so on tracks with big shortcuts, hold power items in the lower positions and then use them at the end.
4. As said already, take special caution with DS Bowser's Castle. The CPUs treat the spinning ground like normal ground, so they can take the shortcut without any trouble. Don't do it yourself, you'll just lose time.

they added poison mushroom but it feels rare

Well isn't the whole idea behind a poison mushroom that you grow back instantly if you hit another one? They don't want to make that too common.

So, my friend Axel made a topic similar to this called "how to become a pro", in which he did make some good points, but I feel like the topic was extremely rushed, and a lot of details were missed out. So I decided to make my own. I hope I can be of use to many of you!

Please note: This is for less experienced players, so I might say stuff that a few of you know. I just need to be sure that all of you know.

1. Stats. Using the character with the correct stats is important, but because of the amount of people using custom characters, some people are confused as to who to choose. Well, the answer's Daisy.
Why is this? Characters with high handling can charge up MTs (mini-turbos) extremely quick. Daisy, the character with the highest, can charge them simply by performing a drift on a straight path, not a turn. This means you can chain MTs together similar to Mario Kart DS' snaking. If done well, you can stay at mini-turbo speed for the entire race. This brings me on to...

2. When to use MTs and when to use SMTs (super mini-turbos). Most people's first instinct when going around a turn is to charge an SMT around a turn, but most of the time, that isn't the case. It's not worth it, considering how long MTs last. Always go for 2 MTs instead of an SMT when turning.
So when can you use SMTs? The best places are tracks with 270 degree turns like Waluigi Pinball, or tracks with paths that are too small to snake properly, such as Delfino Square. A smaller use would be cutting off some 180 degree turns on Luigi Circuit.

3. Item usage. Always, ALWAYS use items defensively, especially in 1st. Prioritise your own safety over hitting opponents. After all, with enough practise you can catch up to them anyway, no need to leave yourself open while doing so.
As for items that give you a speed boost, you have to preserve them. Don't just immediately use it, save it for when there's some off-road you can cut off to gain an advantage, or a major shortcut that could win you the race. Only exception is the final item box, that's your last chance to catch up make use of it.

4. Learn shortcuts that you can do without a speed boost. Tracks like Sky Garden, Mario Circuit 2 and Peach Gardens all have useful shortcuts that are possible without a mushroom, each saving a good amount of time. All of them are extremely easy to do, so you should be able to get to the point you always get them.

5. Practise. Time. Trials. I say this to pretty much everyone, but time trials is the perfect training ground for new players to practise. Generally good driving is the most important part of the game; who cares if you're a god with items, it doesn't matter if you don't have the skill to make it out of last place. Time Trials lets you practise said driving, with no consequences. Once you're good enough at that, then include friendly matches so there is, once again, no consequence for losing.

These are all very general tips, the tracks I mentioned were merely examples. If anyone has any track-specific questions or anything I missed out, ask me!
Um I think you may have fogotton the shortcut in vanilla lake 2 where you jump on the ice.

I said "like" those tracks, they were just examples.

Hey, just a question...do Daisy and Custom Characters with Daisy's stats actually have the same stats? Because almost all the top records on the courses are done with Daisy, and not any custom characters.

I just don't use custom characters. The stats are exactly the same but I just automatically pick Daisy

Fun fact is I actually use a custom character that has Daisy's stats but it's actually another mario pallette swap called Ghost Mario.

That's fine

I wholeheartedly agree, this has gone on for too long. This is supposed to be a kid's racing game, not a fight club. I think there should be a different approach, however.

Age restrictions for the forum.

In case it wasn't obvious at this point, the majority of full-blown drama is caused by the younger members of the community. Having a minimum age for talking on the forum would decrease it significantly. However, let them view it, because I don't want them completely locked out of the community. Only stopping them from stirring up anything that could ruin this place.

I feel like an age restriction won't fix the problem mainly for 2 reasons.

1. It's not always people under the age of 13 (I can think of a couple of people).

2. Once they become old enough, won't they start the toxicity again?

I feel like the way to solve this problem are 3-strike bans. Here's what I mean. If they do it once, make it a short-time ban. If they do it twice, make the ban longer. If they do it a 3rd time, strike out, they're banned for good.

I dunno, that's just my thinking of how to solve the problem.

Garfield is right.

Yeah, I see your point. I have a few concerns but I won't state them here.
