Remember how in MK8 they introduced tracks with checkpoints and it dosen't go in laps? Couldn't we add that ability to the track builder so we can have longer tracks? Just a quick thought though..
MK7 introduced it, not 8. Also, this already is in the game, it's called sections.

I've played neither but I vote for Wii since the graphics are better, the gameplay is better since tricks and halfpipes are introduced. Before, it was just driving on a road and going on jumps or ramps on handhelds or consoles that didn't have these capabilities so you would just go off them lamely.
But now, you do it in STYLE. There is a bigger community for MKWii than DS, which means you can play with lots of people. There's more mods for Wii, including characters, custom tracks, changing the HUD of the game and that's all I can think of.
