You've probably never heard of Wario's Woods. It's a puzzle game that released for the NES and SNES. Yes, both. The NES version was actually the last game for the US NES released by Nintendo's official license. The NES version didn't even get an actual age rating!
(As you can see, it says K-A instead of something like E or T.)
As you can maybe tell by the box art, you play as Toad. This is the actual first game where the main player character is Toad. Not Treasure Tracker. Toad has to blow up all the bad guys with Bombs. No, I'm being serious. Why are there bad guys? Well, Wario, of course! He came and took over Pixie Land and is being evil or some crud...
And Toad is the best choice! Why? I have no idea. But it's still cool.
You need to progress through many, MANY levels to beat the game, and they get REALLY HARD. Like, almost all the lines filled at the very start hard.
The game is actually pretty fun. It looks more complicated than it actually is. It's really fun to just stack a bunch of enemies, and then just wait for a bomb of that color to drop, which'll blow up the whole stack.
You can also do multiplayer, which is REALLY fun. It only took a few rounds for my dad to get the hang of the game. I'd recommend both people play on the same difficulty level to keep things fair. Whether that be both doing 1-1 and racing to win first, or doing 5-5 and trying to see who can survive the longest. It's chaotic, but fun.
In multiplayer modes, P2 Plays as Green Toad. Not an all-green Toad, no, it's Green Head, Yellow Vest, a get-up we never see elsewhere. When Toad eventually gets in Smash, if this isn't one of his alts, I'm going to be very disappointed.
Similarly, Wario, because of sprite limitations in the NES version, is Wearing a Pink/Purple cap, White Shirt, Pink/Purple overalls. Looks pretty neat on him, honestly.
Last thing I'll note is the soundtrack, because it's a BOP. Just listen to the versus theme.
So, yeah, overall, Wario's Woods is a good game and you should play it.

Wario. While Waluigi has gotten a good meme about him and definitely deserves to be in Super Smash Bros, Wario sure is chonky xD
