These two games are amazing and i have played them both...
But has it got difference?
Right now,I can't choose.
3D Allstars has 3 games, and normal Allstars has 4.
Now: I like 3D allstars because they have made the graphics better, the textures little bit bigger and adjusted to the perfect gameplay. The three games have a 16:9 format and that's amazing! (exept Mario 64, or else it would be weird)
Galaxy hasn't changed so much, Sunshine did.
The Normal Allstars(switch): are fun I like the new music, themes (of levels and worlds). It's fun, the levels seem for me a bit bigger. Jumping is very hard and you need to time it. Super Mario Bros. 2 is the best to play, amazing gameplay, no much commentary on it

I don't know, I've played the original versions of each of the All stars (SNES) and I own 3D all stars.

I think you should get 3d all starts especially if you like the retro 3d games

I've said this before but I see 3D-All Stars as mostly redundant (for me anyways) and a slight rip-off, seeing as it tries to fix what's not broken (revamping the HUD textures of both SM64 and SMS). Still it's likely the cheapest way to get all 3 in a bundle for now (since Gamecube nostalgia-hype is in max force right now) so if you don't have any of the 3 games, by all means go for it.
If the version of All Stars with SMW was more common (neither the 25th anniversary edition for Wii nor the 35th anniversary re-release for Switch Online use that release), that would definitely take the cake, but as of now, it's a toss-up.
I'd imagine 3D-All Stars would hold more mass appeal since Nintendo's attempts at the New Super Mario Bros. Franchise haven't exactly gone over too well in hindsight, and the last 2D platformer before that would be (I think) Yoshi's Island all the way back in 1995.
My personal pick is standard All Stars but only by a slim margin (and only because either a friend or I own the games on 3D-All Stars, and that friend is literally 2 minutes away). Had it contained Super Mario World like it should have, then it would win no questions asked.
