This is something I noticed.
If you press 9, you can put in codes (VS and Battle offline only). One of the most useful things is that you can make it give you items. You use special codes to get items. For example, if you put in /give billball, you get a Bullet Bill. However, if you put in /give eclair, you get Lightning.
An Eclair, in food terms, is basically an elongated Jelly Doughnut. But, interestingly, eclair is actually french for lightning.
So basically, if you want to shock some CPUs, you gotta ask for dessert.
I'm not trying to insult the French language, but the way things turned out with words is a little confusing.

Actually, in french, the word "éclair" have two meanings. It means either "lightning" , either the pastry which is taken from the French word. However, the snack is named like that because it is eaten quickly (in a flash).
Or maybe this dessert is so good that it electrifies the CPUs ?
