What are some weird words or meanings that you've heard in other languages? I'll start. In swedish, there's a word called "gråtrunka", which literally means g00ning while crying.

In Gaeilge we have "adharcáil" which is a verb meaning "to get attacked by a horned animal"

I don't know why we have a specific term for being attacked by a banjaxed sheep but here ye go

Some more words in Gaeilge that I think have odd meanings:

- Beochaoineadh (a keening (a keening is a grieving song) for the living)

- Bothántaíocht (to call on one's neighbours for gossip)

- Bunbhríste (weathered but usable)

- Codraisc (a random collection of useless objects)

- Drochdheoir (a negative aspect of one's personality passed down through the generations)

- Iombhá (a half-sunken vessel)

- Ladhar (the gap between one's toes or fingers)

- Maológ (overflowing contents of a container)

- Plobaireacht (to cry and attempt to speak simultaneously)

- Sabhsaí (someone who works outside irrespective of the weather)

- Stríocálaí (someone who works hard but is not skilled)
