Hi! I'm totally not copying what I've been seeing on the forum lately. No, seriously, I'm not. Well before I got involved here I wrote a series on... Wattpad... that got over 1000 reads. Anyways.
I'm gonna have my own Toadal Drama season! But I don't know what to do for the cast. I have two options... I could either use actual Mario characters, or make my own. (Note I am not an artist so no pictures for the second.) What should I do?

Hi. First of all, you have permission to make your own Toad-al Drama series.
Second, there are pros and cons to casting choices.
PRE-EXISTING CHARACTERS:
The audience is familiar with them, so you won't have to spend as much time introducing them.
You also won't have to force being creative and creating a bunch of OC's.
However, there could be pressure to keep them in character.
Also, if you want multiple seasons with a new cast every season, it'll be hard to find new casts of characters.
ORIGINAL CHARACTERS:
If you have the creative juices, this would be a great chance to show those off.
With the OC's probably being total strangers, you have way more possibilities for creating relationships.
However, depending on the size of the cast, filler characters may be necessary if you're not creative enough to create a whole group.
It might also be hard for people to imagine the personalities and looks of these new characters they've never heard of before.
The choice is yours, and whatever you pick, I'm sure it'll be great. Good luck.
