Let's avoid having this conversation on Space for anything. This is something between you two and you two only, not everyone has to get involved in your discussion (especially if it's not actually going anywhere). Sharing this with the entire forum just increases the chances of other people engaging, which is clearly not the right decision here, as it would result in the situation escalating rather than actually coming to a consensus.
Personally, I believe you don't have to be a chef to judge food, but I also reckon it's always better to rate tracks mindfully. Sure, you don't have to be a skilled track creator to have an opinion on stuff, but your opinion will be taken more seriously if you show that you're capable of being more precise in your judgement. However, a 3/5 should never be an issue. It's a perfectly alright ranking, it's literally above average. I know that most MKPC users aren't very critical so the track ratings tend to be much higher, but 3/5 is not a bad score. You shouldn't really have to justify yourself; and in this case, FryGuy did.
Besides, I don't think being this defensive when someone judges your tracks is the solution at all. You should always welcome advice. Even if you don't take it, the thought is positive, they literally want you to better yourself.
@Coolmonkey I think calling someone out for "attitude" is hilarious considering how you've yourself behaved in this situation. You get offended over someone being more nuanced towards your tracks, so you resort to personally attacking theirs because that's your only argument to defend yourself. You see a 2/5 given from someone with both experience and arguments, yet you dismiss it, saying you're not even gonna bother. Well okay then. If you accept to have flaws in your tracks that people are politely pointing out, accept the criticism that comes with it. Also calling out FryGuy for saying HOW THE GENUINE FUCK when you yourself said "f*cking get better" at the game is quite hypocritical don't you think? Calling in other people to back you up is quite strange as well.
@FryGuy There is absolutely no need to get on Space for Anything and start an entire conversation on this, though. DMs exist. Also, I'd say you should be slightly more open to more nuanced takes yourself. Of course, it's not an obligation to make the entire art, but it sure does make your track much better. I understand there might be circumstances that prevent you from making your tracks better in that regard, but also do accept the criticism that comes with it. Weaker devices or methods lead to weaker tracks which lead to weaker ratings.
