Alright, here we go.
1. Mario Kart 7. Overall the complete package. The track selection is pretty good, containing my favourite nitro track in the series (Pretty obvious but it's Rainbow Road), the game is overall really well balanced, giving multiple kart combos a chance to shine instead of just 1 or 2 (looking at you MKW and DD). Yes, no VS mode is a bummer but it's a handheld game. Besides, who needs friends?
2. Mario Kart Wii. Oh boy, nostalgia bomb. This was my first Mario Kart game and my third video game ever, and it made a great impression. The game was overall built well, all the items added were fair with all of them have their strengths and counters. The kart selection was pretty good too, as well as the characters. Also the fact that this game is still alive after over a decade speaks volumes. Would be number 1 but I've sunk more time into MK7.
3. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. Good upgrade on the original MK8, the double items idea from Double Dash was a nice touch (although I would've loved to be able to switch them around) and the same great selection of tracks to boot. Also fixed one of the problems with Mario Kart 8 I'll get to later. Only issue I have with the game is one I'll explain when I get to MK8.
4. Mario Kart DS. Waluigi Pinball, Tick Tock Clock, R.O.B, etc. This game has a lot of memorable stuff but the drifting system really held it back.
5. Mario Kart 8. Well, here we are. Most people I know say Deluxe is worse, but that's from a competitive standpoint. All the techniques in Mario Kart 8 I just hate. I value my ZR button more than you think guys. Also 200cc's my favourite cc to play on so having to wait for it was a pain.
6. Mario Kart 64. Alright, here comes the angry mob. Torches are in DK's Jungle Parkway, pitchforks are somewhere in Bowser's Castle, come and get me. I don't like this game as much as I should. The controls seemed off to me and the game is waaaaayyyyyy too broken. MKWii made this mistake as well but on a lower scale, and MK7 got the balance just right. However, this game's still a classic and not one I'd forget any time soon.
7. Mario Kart: Double Dash! So many good ideas but I never got into this one. Maybe because like MKDS the drifting's annoying, or that the ideas in this game were never fully realised and could've been expanded upon in future games. Sure, it's unique but Mario Kart has done brilliantly by sticking to one formula and tweaking it slightly. This one just doesn't fit in with the others.
8. Super Mario Kart. It was the original, it hasn't aged well, but I still respect what it did for the series. Enough said.
9. Mario Kart Super Circuit. I had to put this at the bottom. It's the only game on here I actually forgot existed, and that's probably due to when it released. If it was right after SMK, then I wouldn't have as big a problem, but because it came after MK64 it just felt like a major step back and, overall, really forgettable.
As for the arcade games, they were fun, MKGPDX in particular I had so much fun with.

Because Mario Kart 7 added more to the franchise than any game, is generally well built, good physics engine, great selection of tracks and it's a handheld game you won't be playing with other people anyway.

Yes, Mario Kart 7 is very underrated and It's my favourite MK game. And idc about VS mode cuz I mainly play Time Trial & Online

I think MK7 haters don't appreciate what MK7 did for the series. Sure, no VS mode may be a pain sometimes, but I still really enjoy the game. Honest opinion, I think it has the best online mode in Mario Kart. It also has the best retro track selection in the entire series.
Talk trash about me all you want, I don't care, I love this game to death.
Me: Says I love MK7

MK7 Haters:
There's no Mario Kart game I explicitly hate (except for Tour). I think Mario Kart 7 is a great game. It has great and creative tracks, some of which I think are the most underrated in Mario Kart History (Wario Shipyard is a really good example). Wiggler is really cool, and a lot of the new karts are really cool too.
But...I don't think it's the best game in the series.
First, the character selection. While Wiggler and Lakitu are pretty cool, Honey Queen and Metal Mario are honestly pretty lame. I know I'm going to anger a lot of people with this, but I really don't like Metal Mario. He had a cool theme in Super Mario 64, but he's a clone. He's Mario with a silver texture and a different voice. I just really don't get why people like him more than Wiggler. And Honey Queen? She shouldn't be here. Who thought it was a good idea to put a character who appeared in a total of 2 games before hand over Waluigi, a fan favorite character? To make things even worse, they have Waluigi Pinball in the game, but no Waluigi!
Second, this is a bit nitpicky, but the tricks in the game are kinda boring. Almost all of them are practically the same thing: the first trick is them putting their hand in the air, then the second is them doing a similar thing to the camera. MKWii and MK8 both had much more exciting and distinct tricks for every character.
Lastly, the battle mode...kinda sucks. Coin Battle is somehow worse than in MKWii, you can't customize a lot of things about the battles themselves, and the arena selection...could be better. Big Donut is far better than the N64 version, Wuhu Town is pretty cool, GBA BC1 is pretty fun, and I think Honeybee Hive and Palm Shore are just...okay. But, from my experience, Sherbet Rink isn't very fun, especially compared to all the others.
And if you say "it's a portable game, of course there's less stuff than console games" or something along those lines, I'll point to MKDS. It's also a portable, but it has a more content than MK7, despite being on inferior hardware. It has a mission mode, a VS mode, and I think has better tracks than MK7. I'm not saying they're all better, but its best tracks (Waluigi Pinball, Airship Fortress, Luigi's Mansion) are better than Mk7's best.
In summary, I like MK7, but I wouldn't call it the best in the series. It has its flaws, and it's honestly kinda underwhelming, especially compared to MKDS, the last portable Mario Kart.
(sorry for the big essay)

1. MK7, honestly, what other game would it be?
2. MKDD, I've put over 1200 hours into this game, ofc I love it, but outside of Baby Park and Rainbow Road, the tracks are just ok in my opinion.
3. MKWii, one of the best games I've ever played on the Wii, but way too broken in my opinion
4. MK8/MK8D, combining them cuz IDK. The tracks are nice, Mount Wario is in the top 2 of my favorite tracks in all of MK, but the amount of clones, why???
5. MKDS, Waluigi Pinball is the greatest course in MK history, fight me. Really, only thing holding this game back is that the retro track selection in my opinion was meh. (Also, the Chain Chomp and Bowser Shell from MKDD is in the coding lol, using them crashes the game tho)
6. SMK, the first of the series, and well, yeah, thats pretty much it.
7. MK64, Honestly, the king of long courses, and also VERY BROKEN, remember, this was before the checkpoint system we know today was in MK.
8. MKSC, forgot this game exists, and I own it, is that bad?
9. MKT, need I go on?
(If want Arcades and the Slot Machine, just ask)
