I don't think it's a good idea if they switch places, sorry but that would be a bit of an unoriginal idea.

Still, the person in 1st will get a BIG advantage from that and if they were not close to the explosion yet again, I don't think it might sound good but it's still unfair towards 2nd place and below.
Also, the mechanics for the Red Spiny Shell sounds too similar to the Blue Spiny Shell and the name for Red Spiny Shell might be regard as "confusing" with the Red Shell's name.

My red spiny shell targets the person in 5th place.
That would be unfair to be honest since the people in 1st-4th place might get an advantage because of this, if they weren't close to the explosion.
