Chapter 5 spoilers, read at your own risk
Okay so recently I 100%'d Chapter 5 - got the Egg, beat the secret boss, did the Weird Route - and HOLY SHIT was it good. It's not as lore-focused as Chapter 3 or 4, but I think it's good as a sort of interim phase Chapter, def my favourite of them thus far. I love Flowery as a character and his boss theme is also a complete banger, him being the final boss instead of Asgore was also quite refreshing imo (and he used the fucking ORANGE SOUL??? Tea).
By the way this is unrelated, but I LOVE how unapologetically queer this Chapter is: we've had Suselle confirmation; "subtle" trans Ralsei theory confirmation during the scene where they and Flowery are conversing alone; the secret boss was an allegory for genderqueer identity, dissociation AND gender dysphoria (also being a parallel to an explicitly transfemme Undertale character, which is SO AWESOME).
Back on topic of the main stuff just before I talk about the Weird Route, I'm pretty sure Chapter 5 basically all but confirmed that Dess is the only viable Knight candidate (aside from if you think the Knight's a Darkner which still somewhat works) - Rudy, Carol and Noelle can't be the Knight because Rudy almost fucking died and is at the hospital (Carol can't have gotten to Flower King from the hospital without seriously raising some eyebrows, same for Noelle), we also got Asgore Knight debunked because he was fucking kidnapped, and Asriel Knight is also just debunked because we now have confirmation that Dess didn't reciprocate Asriel's feelings (Dess x Bratty confirmed???), which would make his entire motivation for being the Knight that he's a huge simp, and it also makes no sense as to why he'd kidnap Asgore, his literal biological father (maybe Toriel could have asked him to get Asgore out of the picture? That would put her actions at the end of Chapter 2 and 3 in a COMPLETELY different context with Undyne and would be some really fucking good storytelling, but again it doesn't at all line up with Asriel's primary motive).
Now that my current Knight hypothesis is out of the way, I'd like to talk about the Weird Route and... what the actual fuck? Not only did that legitimately terrify me, while it DID answer what happened to Dess, it also left us with more questions than answers. Chapter 6 will be the only Chapter since Chapter 2 to have no Weird Route content, and while we now know that the Weird Route is called Side B in-universe, that doesn't really explain why Chapter 7 will have Weird Route content and not Chapter 6, nor how we'll even access Chapter 7 Side B in the first place
But yeah, overall a very solid Chapter and... all of your theories for Chapter 5 were wrong goodbye
