Why people are leaving

I originally was going to let it alone, but a lot of people are leaving as of right now, so I decided to address it.
The community is terrible.
There are no other words to describe it. It's plain and simple. A pattern is that the site becomes an absolute shitshow for a month or two, then it gets a 4-month break during which the ambiance is good.
For example : last year, the website got terrible in March-April due to me and another user repeatedly arguing. Times got better, until August-September in which there was the KirbyBoy drama and the site getting bad to the point we got new mods. We got the new mods, and in January-February the site got bad again.
But now it isn't stopping. An it's going downhill as we speak.
Why? Simply because people have mainly started to acknowledge it recently.
At the start of the year, we had Spheal, we had Lance, we had Kirbytriple, and Mike/Choco slightly. The latter two got better, the rest eventually got inactive, except for Lance/Cario. We had PokeGD, Cyclops and Fourner, three forum kids that really did not help. At the same time, Limey got banned for a really weird and serious "joke", while Krazey got banned as well for having slightly racist views in some toxic topic. At the same time, alexbeaup kept on spamming the meme topic. Coolmonkey gpt mad as well for a stupid joke that Nudge and Osc had made, and it eventually generated a whole drama where the whole community yelled stupidly.
But right now, the site is still going worse, with forum kids like ShortCut, while, despite getting banned quickly, add to that general feeling of bad ambiance.
Because back in 2022, a lot of games were ongoing on the forum. There was positive activity. I had a topic with endless questions, Nudge and Max hosted several gameshows... and that is why 2022 was a better year than 2023 or 2024 so far for me. Despite the general ambiance worsening, there was still some positivity to balance it out.
But now not anymore.
Some topics get created, debate gets sparked, and arguments eventually take place where they should not have. The Fornite topic. Respectful opinions that somehow provoked a fight and an user leaving, even if he did came back.
But why ?
Well, the staff's activity has been slowing down a tad. Some of the staff members are older than most, so they are already in high school, college or superior studies and have no business handling some kids yelling at each other. It's also exam time for most, so most admins are busy with real life issues and have no time for this. Max and Nudge do try to interact a bit, Ahmad and Tox sometimes check out what is going on, but for Wal and Mudky, we rarely see them around. Now I would like to clarify something, this is not a reproach : MKPC should not be important in someone's life when they are over the age of sixteen. But it explains as to why more forum kids are roaming around, and also the community really didn't acknowledge much until very recently, to the point where it is seemingly hard to go even lower.
No positive activity. The topics are boring. When one forum kid get banned, another takes his place. Bad players complaining about rd right as we speak (quite literally since I just answered a complaint on a different tab while writing this essay). And a bad ambiance overall. It's the forum kids against everyone. There is a report button, or there is something called constructive criticism. You can try once to make the forum kid understand. If they don't, report his next message. It seems logical.
But it's not in reality what occurs. What occurs is the users trying to fight the forum kids by screaming even more, creating an argument whereas it could've been avoided.
I am so tired of this. I don't even want the community to move along together anymore like in 2023. But as a French singer that I despise said...
We don't talk about a better world anymore, we just want to save this one.
Yeah. Making this community good again is impossible. Too much wrong has been done, and there are not enough solutions at the moment. But at least, let's try to make it bearable.

As far as I can tell, no one has actually left. Fiery permanently left for a day, Pixel seems to be semi-active even now, etc. We are all stuck here.
The core of the community has stayed on through a lot, hopefully things will calm down eventually. At least there's no shortage of popcorn moments in the meantime. 🍿

After hearing all that Lely said, I REEEEEEEEEEEEALLY wish I checked out MKPC earlier in my life. (so I didn't miss out on anything cool, like the purple shell, previous projects & fanfics, and older members) I remember seeing a MarioPower555 vid mentioning this site, but I now am here in the future, wishing my past self that I just STOPED to check this site earlier, but I didn't since my fat ass was only focused on watching Youtube!
WHY!??!
WHY!??!

the community is basically becoming absolute chaos and hell. I just wish we had a great day without any trouble. After my last ban I changed a lot. But that’s not part of the story rn. The community is getting worse.

The community is at its darkest point. Everything that you said is true. When I first saw this game, I thought that I will have a good time, but this year isn't what I intended. The forums are starting to get out of hand, there is also a lot of arguments and a lot of people got banned (but some change for the better),and a lot of forum kids and useless messages. It's getting to the point that I'm starting to have second thoughts. However I'm still think that this site has a chance of recovering though.

I think that, on top of this, there's also just absolutely zero incentive to play this game. Time for me to do a lil bit of ranting
Online mode only has the base game tracks (alot of which are not fun to play imo). While yes you can play online on custom multicups, absolutely nobody does that, similar to tournaments in MK8D.
A solution to this could be a weekly or monthly 'track rotation' with custom tracks replacing the base game tracks.
There is not much variety in gameplay as Daisy obviously reigns supreme in literally every aspect. You reverse drift through everything anyway so track layout doesn't matter much at all unless there's some really sharp turns or the track is way too thin to be enjoyable. This may be a controversial statement but while reverse drifting is fun, I do genuinely believe the game would be better off without it. Though this would of course leave room for snaking...
A solution to this could be buffing characters, or introducing new stats like Off-Road that could help some characters be better in certain tracks, though the RD problem would still persist.
It doesn't help that the last update was in February, over 3 months ago. "B-but there was an April fools!" yeah okay that literally got reverted in a day that doesn't count. I understand that Wargor is busy (or at least doesn't want to work on one project 24/7) but it definitely does make the game less exciting.
Maybe making alot of small updates where a new feature gets released as soon as it's done instead of having multiple features for one big update would help but I'm not sure. Maybe Wargor could hire other devs but I doubt this website makes enough cash for that. I am not a programmer by any means so take this stuff with a grain of salt lol
Last but not least, I feel like custom tracks have been going downhill lately. Alot of them have pixels that are way too big, basically allowing for no detail or life in them, and the ones that aren't that are just quick textureless drawings in MS Paint. Nobody is really at fault for this, everyone has their own level at art of course. I myself would probably have made alot of horrible tracks if I discovered this website while I was younger. I'm not expecting everyone to be van Gogh or something, especially since most of the userbase is 13 or younger, but again it doesn't help in making this game less stale. Don't feel personally attacked in this, you can make whatever tracks you want, however you want it and don't let this discourage you, you will naturally improve over time as you try more things. I don't know what the general opinion about this is, you can like the oversized pixels aesthetic if you want but I personally really hate it.
Don't get me wrong with all this overly negative ranting. I love this game, enough to sink alot of free time into it making and playing custom tracks. And the fact that this is all on a website is beyond impressive (though I certainly wouldn't mind an app version ), but there's definitely some work to be done.

Well I agree with everything except the rd, probably buffing other characters would be good. If Peach had a really good offroad while Daisy had the standard for example, it could help Peach in some tracks like Donut Plains 3

WHY!??!

Wow man! That's rough, especially the fact this site is getting so toxic and aggressive nowadays. I just hope this game doesn't disappear in the future. This is such an incredible game, and I don't want this to end. 😞 Why do most people have to be so toxic? For real? This is stupid, ridiculous, and downright awful.

Yeah. Making this community good again is impossible. Too much wrong has been done, and there are not enough solutions at the moment. But at least, let's try to make it bearable.
