They are experiencing the same arbitrary and immature behavior that most internet users had in the last decade. Something that any site with little to no moderation experiences. Nothing new after all.

I think the major reason behind why kids online are acting like this now is the oversexualization of the internet that I noticed around 2020.
Youtube is full of NSFW ads, most short form content platforms are full of NSFW content, goon bait thumbnails became more frequent, NSFW content started becoming big memes, etc.
I also believe content farms that make Elsagate type content play a major role in this as they tend to normalize mature themes with kids at such a young age.
I was also (unfortunately) one of those kids who were overly sexual online. Through 2021-2023, I tend to talk about very NSFW topics with friends, both in person and online. I never really was in the best circles and groups, so I kinda just got worse until recently.
