You're talking about Xenoblade Chronicles? If so, probably 3DS or Switch. I'd go 3DS all the way if you have a New 3DS.

Yes, you absolutely should. The Xenoblade trilogy is my favourite game series by a long shot (I haven't seen X yet).

I assume you're talking about Xenoblade 1, which you would probably want to use the switch for. I heard they fixed up a lot of issues from the previous versions that make the game better to play, and obviously the graphics are improved which is pretty important for a game that builds a lot of atmosphere in its worlds (also Fiora and a future party member don't look like bricks so there's that). The story is easily the best one across any video game I've seen so far, but I'm not gonna spoil it because you can only experience these kind of things once.

You can also play the trilogy in any order, and it won't matter too much, and X is kind of its own thing so that can be played at any time. At most playing 3 without playing 1 and 2 will just mean there's a few references you won't get but nothing that's missing from the plot. If you do decide to play 1 first and you really enjoy it which you should, the other 2 are even better imo.

Thanks yaaa bowser jr !
I was interested in the beauty of the switch version, but the problem is the 60 EURO 💀

Since I don't see many promotions on this game, it's going to be difficult to buy it, but I thought there was a pack with all 3

Either I wait a looooong time, or I install the New 3DS version (hell no), or I use a PC emulator, what should I do ?

Citra is the best multiplatform 3DS emulator, and they have it for Android, and if your phone is capable (running MKWii I don't see why not) you can play the rom if you get it from RomsPedia (hshop but for emulation)

Yea it does seem quite expensive at first but the game lasts a very long time, and for a switch game maybe the best value for money. I spent 60 hours on main story alone for Xenoblade 1, and I've got 80 total atm. For 2 and 3 I have 272 and 110 hours respectively, no DLC yet either (2's playtime is definitely overkill but I just had that much fun with it).

The games will probably last you months, but you can probably use Dolphin if you wanna try 1 (will not play as well as the switch version tho).

I don't think there is a pack of all 3.

Gonna try citra mmj

Xenoblade is a great series, I recommend it if you like old Final Fantasy titles like 9, 10 & 12(I guess Kingdom Hearts is close enough)
even if the combat turns a lot of people off, the combat is slightly different between the games, I'd definitely play the first one on Dolphin if you can to test it.

Xenoblade 1: Great story & great soundtrack. The combat is the most basic of the series, but as long as you like the pseudo-MMO style you'll be fine. Visually stunning, some crazy plot twists, it's a good game.

Xenoblade X: The story is a bit weaker, and then some of the music is an acquired taste(different composer, literal anime composer), but the exploration, combat(as complicated as it is), sidequests & worldbuilding are on point. Mira itself is twice as large as Hyrule in BotW, and it's far from an empty shell with no padding. The worldbuilding is almost on par with Splatoon's, I would say. A lot of thought & love went into everything, and things that you wouldn't expect to be explained have explanations. Also it's the prettiest Nintendo game ever made.

Xenoblade 2: Definitely the weak link, but still a 9/10. The story starts off really slowly, and there is a fair bit of fanservice, and then there's the gacha, and the tutorial hell aspect, but once you get through the opening, it's a great game. The music is a little more optimistic as a whole from 1', while not as experimental as X. The characters(the villains especially) are extremely compelling. MC VA kinda sucks, but it's still a good game. The combat system is more than a little exploitable though.

Xenoblade 3: The best game in the series, hands down. The dark story, the best written protags in the series(aside from Kos-Mos), the best combat of the trilogy by blending 1 & 2's together, the fanservice(not the goony kind), the best soundtrack(although a lot of the songs are more environmental than 1 and 2) and most importantly, the familiar places from your past adventures...and the insane conclusion. A fitting end to the Klaus Saga.

The DLCs for the trilogy are also really good, and have some QoL the base games don't. Future Redeemed(XB3) especially is an absolute thrill.

But it's all something you have to seem for yourself. Again, if PS2 era Final Fantasy is something that you enjoy, you're in for a treat.

Also, if your album isn't filled with screenshots from the stunning places you see you're playing it wrong. It's definitely the kind of game where you'll just sit there and listen to an area's music when you first arrive sometimes. Then it'll switch to night, &...well, you'll see if you're playing 1, which is still definitely the ugliest one in the series(not by much)

Since there's a post describing each entry I thought I might as well add some of my thoughts too.

Xenoblade 1:

Definitely the simplest one in the series since the original came out on the Wii. The combat is probably the weakest although still quite engaging (although spike damage sucks), having visions to change the outcome of a fight is really cool. I would say this has the best story (although not my favourite) with several plot twists and overall good characters, and the cutscenes here don't drag on at all unlike some parts of the later games. The soundtrack is also really good. I don't think there was too much to do post-game unless you really want to do the 400 repetitive side quests, which is why I think this is the weakest entry. The game is still an easy 9/10.

The exploration is also pretty good, and I'm surprised they were this large for a Wii game, even if a lot of it was empty walking because they didn't put enough landmarks.

Xenoblade X:

Haven't played this so I can't say but I heard it's got the worst story but best exploration. I-need-a-bigger-gun/10.

Xenoblade 2:

This is the polarising one, it's either people's favourite entry or least favourite entry. Admittedly the game starts off quite slowly (mainly first half of Chapter 2) both story and gameplay wise, there is quite a bit of fanservice, some characters are far from halal, the tutorials are infamous for being bad, and if you don't like gacha then you may not enjoy the blades system. But looking past all that and you have a story that's almost as good as the first one, with the plot being a little weaker but more focused on the relationship of the main characters which I was fine with. For that reason, the ending of this game is my favourite ending across any story ever told (the gap between the first and second stories are paper thin). Some of the characters in this are pretty memorable too.

The soundtrack in the game is easily the best in the series, even the people who don't like this game won't deny this fact (if you think Counterattack is good then lemme tell you there are much better soundtracks than that imo). The battle system is really complicated at first but is also the best one just because it's the most fun, although it's super easy to break. The reason I have such a high playtime on this is because trying to defeat enemies in as little time as possible is just awesome. The exploration in this isn't as large as the first one in terms of size but it had better quality exploration. This is my favourite XC and it's not even close.

Xenoblade 3:

Objectively the best game as a game, but super hot take here I didn't enjoy this as much as I should've. For starters, the story is the weakest one for me just because literally nothing happens until halfway through the game. I was dreading the story because all they'd ever do is walk and talk for 6 hours of cutscenes until you get to late Chapter 4, followed by more yap until late Chapter 5/early Chapter 6 (which is probably the strongest moment of the whole series I won't lie), followed by even more yap until the end. A lot of the dialogue is someone repeating the same word another person just said, and you see the same flashback like 13 times. The characters may have been well written but none of that matters to me if they're super boring. Something all the good parts had in common was that they contained a single character, and the story would've sucked worse without him. The villains are also awful compared to the rest of the trilogy, and the final fight is just slowly hitting a face for 30 minutes with unskippable dialogue. I get that it's meant to be dark and depressing compared to the other stories but it's just nowhere near as enjoyable, especially when they already did a phenomenal job. The ending is also kinda whatever except for when the final song plays.

Now once you do beat the really slow main game there actually is quite a bit to do and this is why the game is good. There are a lot of meaningful side quests which will keep you occupied for a long time. Getting "heroes" is also pretty interesting and some of them are great to have even if you aren't able to actually play as them.

Some other flaws is that the exploration isn't as good as I expected. Out of the trilogy this has the largest maps but it got super repetitive in some parts because it was just rock on either side the whole time, or it was super linear like in the Urayan mountains (they did NOT do the original justice). 2 of the 4 big regions kinda suck to explore, and Millick Meadows is shit compared to its equivalents Bionis' Leg and Gormott (to rub salt in the wound certain Lv 81 and Lv 90 Gorillas are not the same here). The soundtrack is good but I never got to appreciate it because every time you open the menu the song stops, and every time you skip-travel the song restarts, and also every time you skip travel you change the time so you'll basically never hear a night version of the area themes. These lowered my enjoyment quite a bit, I just wanted to listen to Erythia Sea in game without any disruptions. Also I'm well aware Lanz wants something a bit meatier by now.

But what really made me not enjoy the game the most was the combat. It felt way too reliant on chain attacks and they'd always go on forever, whilst pretty much making you feel like you're not even in the combat anymore. Each chain attack could last up to 5 minutes if you do a proper one, and it just becomes annoying seeing the same 10-30 second animations after every turn. I also prefer You Will Know Our Names or Kaleidoscopic Core over the chain attack music. It's supposed to be the most polished out of them all, and does use themes from the first two games well, but that's not really true. You can defeat the Lv 200 superboss in 10 seconds on hard mode (so it's even more broken than 2), but getting that OP just has a horrible grind far worse than upgrading Poppi in XC2.

I know I said a lot of crap about this game but it's still a solid 9/10 and my 2nd favourite in the trilogy ( 2 > 3 > 1 ).

--------------------------

Haven't played the DLCs for any game yet but they seem really good.

If I had to sum the good stuff up:
XC1: Best story + Dunban is over there
XCX: Best exploration
XC2: Best soundtrack and combat
XC3: Best side quests + best photo

bit late since this is a day old, but think about the 60 euros now for xeno 3, and think about how expensive it will become on switch 2 which is a bit scary to think of tbh. it'll be as cheap as it'll ever be, even though it's still very expensive. go for it on switch 1 no matter how long it takes; it's worth it

Yup, switch 1

I'm really afraid of the price if it's enhanced for switch 2 (but if it is included in the additional pack)

if it's enhanced, i could see it going up to 70-80 for digital and 80-90 for physical, which is... way more than the 60 for physical or digital version on switch 1. think of it like this; if you're not solidly sure that you will buy the switch 2 for the ridiculous 450 and 80 dollar games, buy the switch 1 version of xeno.

They already put 80 euros for a game that is 8 years old, so for xeno

xeno regardless 3,2,1, or X probably 80 dollars. maybe x will be 70 because they just released a new one on switch 1, or maybe it just won't be transferred to switch 2.
