I agree, except there's one problem with that; there are no shortcuts. At least, not like the ones on normal tracks; all the shortcuts are just 2-3 mushrooms through offroad, where 3-lap tracks have some crazy stuff. Just look at Great ? Block Ruins

There are still cool shortcuts from time to time. Nobody is labbing them though, and they're extremely situational.

I'm not gonna pretend that they're all super visually exciting compared to the actual courses and a lot of it is very fighting game -esque cuz with 200+ intermissions to memorize they're really just knowledge checks, but they're there.

its better than it used to be though , alot of the EDP's have been sent to prison

I actually disagree because I think that if I would frontrun on an intermission (there is no benefit to that) imo that would make it less interesting. Simply put, the intermissions do not have enough interesting gimmicks to make them enjoyable. There are little to no rails and walls to keep players engaged and it is faster to just drive in a straight line. Imo, bagging actually makes it better because it gives the player something to do.

As long as you play it like it's Mario Kart World and not Mario Kart 8 2

Eh i'd personally say Bagging is fine, but how would Knockout Tour work without the Intermission Routes?


If Knockout Tour does not work without intermission routes, THEN KEEP THEM IN KNOCKOUT TOUR AND NOT ANYWHERE ELSE!

also mkw is open world and has a bunch of intermissions

ok im gonna throw my hat into the ring here

1. you have an entire open world, and somehow have less tracks than previous games (ex: literally any mario kart game after ds, and ds as well). this needs to be fixed

2. rainbow road in free roam. i require it (even my friend who hasn't played MKWorld until like 2 days ago thinks it's a problem)

3. customizable shy guy colors, like in 8.
(on the topic of characters, no, i don't think world needs crossover characters or miis.)

4. better online. there should be an option between """normal""" (as in races w/ intermissions) and """classic""" (as in 3-lap races)

5. better battle mode. HOOOOOLY SCALLOP THE BATTLE MODE SUCKS. you have the choice between balloon battle and coin runners. that's it. MK8DX probably has one of the best battle modes in the series. and even if we can't get the 2 introduced in 8DX back, at least give us some new ones.

6. please god revert the update that makes me get a coin block in first
