Hello. If you may have seen, I just got the world record for Mario Circuit 1 SNES. just to make things clear immediately, I am not an alternate account of the player hillsrevival. The reason I'm saying this is because I notice that they have been posting on the forum talking about how close they were to the record, and suspicion may arise if I don't clear that up, So that's that. I used to be a prominent player past 2017, not infamous or banned, I just forgot my tag. This is the start of a new era and a new journey, and I'm so glad to reeenter this community. In the grand scheme of things, the speedrunning scene in mkpc is nowhere near as competitive as other games, including mainline Mario Kart titles. Maybe they are good at speedrunning in general? I'm not saying completely shut down the idea that this may be an alt, but just consider it

2How does the Reverse Drift mechanic work?

In Mario Kart games, you can reverse, or in simpler terms, go backwards. When in a drift, unlike in other Mario kart games, your drift does not cancel, instead it still continues as normal allowing your reverse to still register while drifting. This idea is essentially how reverse drift works. In this game specifically your drift does not cancel after performing a reverse which allows you to reverse drift. The game wants to make you turn around because that's what reversing does for the most part, but since your in a drift, you can freely adjust your movement by tapping the reverse button and drifting while doing it. It also charges mini turbos which I don't know if that's intentional, but if it was, pretty cool of Wargor to add. You can even charge mini turbos standing still, this is unrelated I just thought it was funny.

I am not this person nor do I know who they are, they could very possibly be an alt as the account seems pretty new. Until they say something themself, I will have suspicions. I worked very hard to get as close as I did to the record and it was suddenly taken by someone who seems very altworthy. If anyone knows what's going on please tell me I'm legit confused

This morning, I've been time trialing GBA PC1 and noticed that I was actually getting pretty close to the world record run while using Bowser glitch and only drifting in one direction, do you guys think that if someone is skilled enough, they can actually utilize this optimally on the track?
