A game called Super Roblox Kart
On 2020-04-11 at 07:12:54
Looks to be what Mario Kart Roblox Dash could have been had CrazyBlox put a little more time into it. Shame it's not up anymore, although Roblox isn't exactly kind to legacy games (I'm surprised Build to Survive the Zombies is still up and running without updates since July 2013) so I get why he took it down.
Anyway seems neat, will probably check it out in the near future.

Favourite Mario Kart Game?

Top spot shared between Super Circuit and DS, maybe slightly towards Super Circuit due to less restrictive track design and overall deepness of mechanics. DS still great nonetheless, but many tracks (Delfino Square, DK Pass, most of the special cup) would control better in a nu-kart imo. DS at its peak is still better than Super Circuit at its peak, mostly due to more varied track design that works in its favor, notably in Waluigi Pinball, Mario Circuit, and Choco Mountain.
Yeah it's mostly an unpopular opinion, game's mechanics aren't super beginner-friendly so I'd imagine most leave it towards the bottom of their lists without much thought to it and then go on with their day.

There has 100% been another topic of this nature in my mind, so I'll just quote what I said in that topic.

People against YoshiTime (previous name)
On 2020-08-07 at 10:34:57
heres more people bullying me
Unless I happen to have crappy internet (I don't btw), the image in question is about 70% white space with names and an opponents list (which consist of Torrance4 and Jake64).
I don't get it.
Also if this is dealing with people beating you in online races, wouldn't the obvious solution be not to play them?

Looking at some comments against him, it's pretty sad how a bunch of people are insulting a young kid. I think that if you insult him or anyone else, than you are no better than they are.
I don't want the entire MKPC to go nuts from behaviour issues, so I'm just saying that we shouldn't continue talking crap about others.
Whether YoshiTime's behaviour problems are true or not, he shouldn't be bullied in the community, no matter what. Nobody has never not done something bad in their lives.
The topic in question is a month old, whatever beef around YoshiTime's behavior there would have been I would assume have vanished by now. Nightcore only recently just bumped it for a reason I am completely unsure of.
A little late to be discussing this I'd imagine.
YoshiValley2010 REALLY needs to mature

You are aware that he's 10, right?
Like obviously not everyone is going to be super chill about losing. I sure as hell wasn't when I was his age!
Does it mean we should tolerate it? Well to an extent. Obviously it's a little bit on the childish side to not taking losing/criticism well. Still, you were the one that initiated the conversation, so you kinda have to expect such a reaction especially when you're not sugarcoating the answer as much as others might when speaking to a child.
Do I think that the conversation was a little unwarranted? A little bit yeah. Still if he's clearly playing with a disadvantage (on a phone touchscreen as opposed to a physical keyboard), he should expect to lose more often than if he wasn't. If Gabriel was intentionally being an asshole to him, then sure, by all means report it to a higher-up. I haven't seen any proof of him being an asshole though, so I can only take Yoshi's word for it, but seeing as 1 reason is to be expected when playing online and the other can be completely unintentional, Hitchen's razor applies and we can safely discard the claim without much effort.
Really I think Hanlon's Razor is the solution to Yoshi's problem. Never assume malice when stupidity is a sufficient explanation.
One final thing of note: race rating does not equal skill, especially in a non-zero sum system. If the only way to go is up, then the race rating becomes a measure of how much time someone's played online as opposed to a legitimate indicator of skill (which is impossible in a game with any random chance like Mario Kart). Obviously those with higher race ratings tend to be more skilled due to increased time played, but correlation (people who have higher race ratings tend to be more skilled racers) does not and will never imply causation (people who have higher race ratings are more skilled racers).

Thx for the aclaration on DS Mario CIrcuit. When I refer to the YOshis, in 3DS Cheep Cheep Lagoon, there is a large stand on the left side next to the start line. There are also Shy GUys.

check the left side.
As far as I know of there are only Miis in those stands, at least in the Mario Kart 7 version.

Might as well throw my 2 cents in on this. Obviously I'm not a mod so I can't add this, but always nice to have a second opinion.
Off the top of my head they don't prominently feature as obstacles in any track.
Already in the game, at least in quick mode.
Because Figure-8-Circuit and Mario Circuit share the same music theme.
Same goes for Waluigi Pinball and Wario Stadium.
I legitimately don't know what you're talking about here.
The bumper/cannon system works fine with the psuedo-SMK environment we have as is. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
Little much but I think it could be a neat concept, I know of Mario Kart Wii custom tracks that do something like that (rig the item box to have a certain item).
I mean I don't see a huge point to it but eh. I was gonna be against this due to my bias against 8 Deluxe but I don't think it's a terrible idea.
A select few tracks do need cannons which would interrupt the flow of the track (Toad's Turnpike and Royal Raceway are the big 2 I'm thinking), but overall I think the transition to MKPC would be pretty quick and painless.
Acourse intro? How about a voice clip for when we slect a character?
I think this would be pretty cool, if minor.
KOOPAS.

Bumpers from Waluigi Pinball.

Why is DS Mario Circuit not a music option?

HOw about yoshis cheering hooray? (Like 3DS Cheep Cheep Lagoon)

We should be able to add some sort of "ramps" like MKT did.

How about some fake item boxes placed in reacheable places?

Purple Drift(AKA. Ultra mini turbo)

WE NEED N64 Tracks! They are easy to port, I did with my remakes of Kalimari Desert, Frappe Snowland, and many more!!!!

Who wants to teach me French?
On 2020-06-06 at 05:03:12
bien is spanish!!!!
Many of the romance languages have similar words for similar concepts, in fact those words have found their way into english through many means.
Let's take the word friend as an example
Spanish: friend -> amigo/amiga
French: friend -> ami/amie
Italian: friend -> amico/amica
Portuguese: friend -> amigo/amiga
Now many words in European languagues typically come from Latin, so if we translate friend to Latin...
Latin: friend -> amica
we find an origin point.
As for how it's made its way to English, "amicable" is a synonym to "friendly", so I'll call that close enough.
Just an idea...

That would sound like cycle hell.
I'd still like to see it implemented for shortcuts on said track though. Having it be for the entire track is a little overkill.

My Friends think Mario Odyssey is a Bad Game...
On 2020-06-02 at 05:51:14
What should I do or say?
Nothing.
Media-be it film, audio, or otherwise-is a subjective field. One person may think a piece of media is a masterpiece, another may not. It's all up to personal opinion really, even if something is widely acclaimed like Mario Odyssey.
If anything, the more universal praise a game gets at launch, the more likely you are to see people who will crap on it just because they disagree with the mass opinion later down the line.
Many games from the 5th or 6th generation of gaming that "haven't aged well" have fallen into that trend, most notably Super Mario 64 and Sonic Adventure 2

How's Quarantine
On 2020-05-22 at 10:02:56
Restrictions are slowly lifting over here. Let's hope they stay lifted.
At the very least I don't have to wake up at 6am for another 4 months so that's always nice.

My leg!
I guess no one want to race
On 2020-04-26 at 12:44:24
i am sad
I'm going to take this at face value and I'll probably regret it.
Basically timezones exist, and sometimes there are certain times when there aren't as many people on the site even during this whole epidemic. This is why racing can take a while to occur, if there's noone to race, it'll queue you up for what seems like an unreasonable amount of time.
Seeing as the majority of the people here (from what I've seen) are from Europe, this means you'll probably have to operate on their schedule, which may or may not conflict with yours depending on where you live. It's just how it is.
Can anyone stop breaking my records in Time Trials
On 2020-04-05 at 00:43:40
I mean isn't that the appeal of time trials?
Anyone can beat your times, so it's your job to make those better and better until noone can beat them, and then keep going.
It's addictive in a sense, trying to chase a really good time can have someone playing for hours on end. It's both rewarding and frustrating.
Obviously it's not for everyone but still complaining that people beat your times is like complaining that the sun is shining, it'll happen no matter what regardless of your input. It's your job to make that issue less relevant by either setting better times or not caring about time trials.
I'm even guilty of it too, though granted I'm not exactly the most efficient at setting new times so it's a little bit infuriating to say the very least.
