Another thing is that you don’t have to be active (with a few exceptions) to be a character. Just know that your life ratio is negative here, and positive in MKPCS. This show has a majority of deaths, compared to MKPCS’ minority. The only people who cannot participate are:

After coming back from the elimination, Mario confronts his brother.

Mario: I've been to Steam Gardens. It's not this barren.
Lakitu: Okay, so I lied, we're in the middle of nowhere. Some of you may remember the survival challenge from last season. Well, we're doing it again. I've placed warp pipes everywhere, and if you wanna tap out, you can go through one of the pipes to do so. Team 1-UP, one of you won't have to do this. Who will it be?
Peach: I'll sit out.
Lakitu takes everyone into the deep woods and leaves.
Boshi: So... what now?
Toad: I'm outta here.
Boshi: Woah, woah, woah! Not so fast. There's no way you're quitting this soon.
Daisy: As much as I'd hate to agree with a Wah, I'm with Boshi. If you didn't wanna do this, you could've sat out instead of Peach. There's a reason she's in Smash Bros and you aren't.

Toad finds a pipe and warps.

Larry: It's called a Genesis, and it's not noisy.
Wendy: Can't you find better stuff to do besides playing Speedy & Muscles?
Larry: Sonic & Knuckles.
Wendy: Whatever. There's a pipe right next to you.
Larry enters the pipe, fed up with his sister.
Larry (confessional): If she's going to insult a gaming icon, she should at least say his name right. What's next? The Story of Zordo? Cammy's Dream World?
The next players to tap out are Luigi, Yoshi, Wendy, and Birdo.
Lakitu: That leaves Team 1-UP at 2, Team Cappy at 3, and Team Metro at 1.
Boshi: Daisy, if we leave now, we can get rid of Toad.
Daisy: Deal.
Daisy and Boshi enter the pipe together.
Lakitu: Sorry, Team 1-UP, but you lost the challenge.
Daisy: That's fine.
Lakitu: SIKE! You got second for the third time in a row.

They have to make their Uproots be the tallest while only using the things around them and a watering can. The “trying to be 200IQ characters but actually aren’t” would try using water, but the really dumb ones would use the poison from the poison Pirahna plants and would somehow win.
