/!\ OFFICIAL SUGGESTIONS TOPIC
On 2025-07-17 at 17:43:51
GamerJax had a very good suggestion with unlocking cups by progressing in multicups. To add onto that, I think the same should be done for challenges; for example, there could be a normal staff ghost, and when you beat it it unlocks a hard staff ghost. This could also apply to completing cups to unlock challenges, but that might be harder and opens up less opportunities.

Erm look at the name of the topic 💀
You know he said you can take any country, right? Did you read the message?
Who's "he"?
Whoops mb lmao didn’t check who posted the topic but still
Well it says EUROPE.. and I dont think Canada's in EUROPE...
Ok then not trying to start an argument since you literally wrote it but you phrased it really unclearly
“If you’re not from Europe you can claim a country” Doesn’t say it has to be in Europe

I'm worried to how Gen Alpha will behave like once they're adults...
(I'm Gen Z)
(I'm Gen Z)
You are not part of Gen Z, on the contrary, knowing that you were born in 2012, Gen Alpha starts around 2010, so you are not Gen Z but Gen Alpha.
I don't even act like a Gen Alpha! I don't have brainrot!
Gen Millennials was 1980 - 1996
Gen Z was 1997 - 2012
Gen Alpha was 2013 - 2024
Gen Beta will be 2025 - 2039
No, you're wrong. Gen Z ended with 2011.

Prove to me that the Wii U is a good console!

I'm the world's #1 Wii U fan lmao here we go. If I sound annoyed at any point just know that I'm not, I just get really heated about this sometimes
So, let's start with the fact that it can run Wii games. Maybe in 2012 this wasn't that big of a deal. But now, the Wii remains way more popular than the Wii U. The cheapest Wii I could find online was $90 CAD, while the cheapest Wii U was $48 CAD. So immediately it's a better option for playing the Wii's superior selection of games. Plus, it can run Wii U games (obviously) which includes some great titles like Splatoon, Super Mario Maker and Super Mario 3D World, even if that last one got a Switch port. Speaking of which, let's compare to the Switch; first of all, the Wii U has WAY more personality. I know that sounds dumb, but the menu, eShop, settings, etc. music just adds so much to a console for me and those things being gone on the Switch and Switch 2 just make those consoles so much worse to me. Switch 2 is different because of the visual and performance upgrades, making it probably better, but the Switch has no such crutches to fall back on. Besides, of course, its defining feature; being hybrid, which, in my opinion, is a bad thing. It makes the console more expensive, forces games to run with both modes, and makes Nintendo think whatever they do will work because so many people buy it (cough cough Mario Strikers Battle League cough cough). The Wii U, on the other hand, has two modes of play fused into one which is a genius gimmick. And before you say that's why the console flopped, no it's not. The console flopped because of bad marketing, and because the GamePad wasn't unique enough (it kinda was but whatever). Another feature I haven't even touched on yet is Miiverse; I absolutely loved Miiverse while it was still around and wish the Switch era had kept it. Miis in general just kinda died in the Switch era too as they got buried in system settings with barely any games showing them off, which really sucks and is something the Wii U did better (copying the Wii's homework, but the Wii U still did it well). Also, the Wii U/3DS online service was free. NSO is not. The GamePad does not have JoyCon drift. The GamePad also opens up tons of new options for games which is the only reason the Mario Maker series even exists. Essentially, the GamePad turns the Wii U into a home console version of the DS, which in my opinion is a very good thing.
Essay over lol, good luck

Interesting that the cheapest Wii you Chili’s find was 90 CAD, I got my Wii a few weeks ago, for only 40 USD, it is probably a regional difference. As for backwards comparability, I feel that the GCN actually does a better job. Having its Gameboy player accessory gives it comparability with gameboy, gameboy color, and gameboy advance. And by proxy, all NES & SNES games ported to those handhelds. Of course, the Wii U has an HDMI cable, and that is definitely a valid argument. Personality is a good point, but personality comes with a huge sacrifice, load times. With the nintendo switch, you can power the console on, and be playing a game within moments, while the Wii U takes a much longer time to load the same games. AND for Wii mode, the console has to reset itself entirely. Also, interesting fact, if you adjust the Wii Us launch price (350$) for inflation, it would cost about 490 USD today. And during the Wii U generation, they actually did create low quality games that were only meant to make money. (Mario tennis ultra smash, Amibo festival, ECT.) Now, I will say the Wii Us gimmick was kinda genius, taking the DS to the next level, the biggest problem is that they never really used it well, they failed to port a substantial amount of DS/3DS games to the system, and in lots of cases, the gamepad made things slow and clunky in lots of games, and was only really used super well in a few. But those few games work AMAZINGLY with it. Either way, there just isn’t enough. The gimmick itself did not make the Wii U flop, it was the lack of legitimately good uses for the gimmick. And of course the worst marketing in the history of mankind. The reason people say that the Gamepad was not unique enough, I’d be cause the PS Vita had the same functionality beforehand. As for social features and Miis, I have no arguments whatsoever. So instead, I’m gonna talk about Virtual Console and NSO. One big disadvantage about virtual console is the price, now hear me out, every NES game on virtual console would cost 5 dollars each, according to Google, the Wii U had about 94 nes games available. (PLZ fact check me if I’m wrong) this totals up to about 470$ while switch online has 100+ nes games (according to nintendo) so I think it’s fair to assume that most of if not all virtual console games are on switch meaning that it would take 23.5 years of NSO to match the price of every NES game on virtual console, not to mention that you also get loads of SNES and gameboy games with it. The gamepad is a higher quality controller than the joycons. And it would work well as a home console DS if nintendo used it better. (Or you can hack it I guess)
Anyways, great arguments, also forgive my numerous grammar issues, autocorrect hates me for some reason.
tI do agree with a lot of your points, I completely forgot about the GameCube lmao and yeah it is pretty good for backwards compatibility. More of a personal thing, but I honestly prefer having the personality over just pressing one button and being in; getting into games faster is certainly more convenient, but I still want a high-quality console too, I don't just want to buy it for the games. Also, the difference between Virtual Console and NSO is two things; one, with Virtual Console you don't need to buy every single game, just the ones you want. No one is going to play every game in the NSO collections, and with Virtual Console you just don't have to pay for those games. Also, Virtual Console is a one-time purchase, while NSO is a subscription. Also pretty sure Virtual Console had more than one previous console available on it, but correct me if I'm wrong there. And yeah, I agree they didn't do much with the GamePad, but in concept it's incredible and the few games where they did make a good use for it were incredible too.
But yeah good job on your end too, I didn't even consider half of that stuff lol

I'd like to elaborate on my previous comment by saying I'm not considering the game libraries. The Switch's library of games is undeniably better than the Wii U's (even though a lot of them are ports lol) but the libraries don't really have anything to do with the consoles themselves so I just didn't consider it
