What Unpopular Video Game Opinion Do You Have?
On 2020-09-21 at 13:28:25
I think the ORAS games don't have enough water.

I don't like Super Mario 64. The beginning was ok, but then the levels and stars got boring. This game is kinda overrated crap, and there are a lot better games out there.
Honestly, I so agree with this. I'd rather have 3D Land or Galaxy 2 than 64 on 3D All Stars.
Personally, I'd rather the 3D-All-Stars be:
64DS, Sunshine, Galaxy, Galaxy 2, 3D Land
All the 3D Games, minus 64OG and 3D World, which is coming out on switch anyways. Either just those, or maybe both 64 AND 64DS for convenience.
Yeah, personally I think 64 DS is a way better game.

Negative: Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is overrated. From a casual standpoint, not having characters and cups to unlock is a bummer. From a competitive standpoint, removing the techniques from MK8 made the game seem bland. Chaining power items and making comebacks is too easy thanks to double items as well. I would still play the game but it's definitely not perfect.
Positive: Mario Party 8 is the best Mario Party. I just had way too much fun, the minigames are awesome, Tallyboo was an entertaining host, the boards were all pretty fun and interesting and it just played well.
It's "MC Ballyhoo", not "Tallyboo".
I'm sorry, but as a Hardcore Mario Nerd, someone not saying the actual names bothers me.

all mario kart arcarde gp are trash, not only for the gameplay, the circuits are very boring and have nothing interesting, apart from why does pacman come out?
No theyre not! the first 2 and VR were great! (DX was bad tho)
Oh NOW i get it! but it had Diamond City, a track based off of Warioware, one of my favorite mario spinoff titles!
Eh, I'm not that big of a fan of WarioWare. I think the Wario Land games are better.
Wario Land 3 is Metroidvania done right, and Wario Land 4 and Wario Land VB are very underrated games.

1. The Controls Suck.
It probably would've been better with a nunchuck, but no. You have to hold the Wiimote sideways and use the awful D-Pad to move around.
2. The Partners are Terrible.
The partners, or pixels, are just straight up lazy.
3. The game feels very boring at times.
Case and point, Chapter 2-2, where you are L I T E R A L L Y A S L A V E .
Not as bad as Sicker Star, but close.
I think the Wii U is a good console. Just because it sold poorly doesn't mean it's bad.
It had great games like:
Super Mario 3D World
Wii Party U
Yoshi's Wooly World
Nintendo Land
M A R I O K A R T 8
and more I can't think of.
I don't think Super Mario 64 is as good as people say it is. Again, before you get your pitchforks, torches, and maybe nukes, let me explain myself...again.
1. It's camera sucks.
I don't need to add anything here.
2.It's textures and sprites have not aged well.
Again, nothing I have to add here.
I don't think Mario Kart Wii is as good as people praise it to be. Let me explain myself for a third time.
1. The Item Distribution is Worse than 64.
I've been hit by a blue shell, lightning, POW block, and red shell (maybe not in that order). You can see where I'm going with this.
2. Mario Kart Wii Has the Worst Controls of Any Mario Kart Game.
The way you throw items is terrible and the way you drift is terrible.
All in all, leads to a terrible experience. So theres your answer CG_Xixi.
So, yeah, those are my unpopular opinions. So, what are yours?
I don't think they're porting Nintendo Land to the Switch anytime soon, and that game has 17 hours of content in it. Plus, the WiiU still had Color Splash, which is better than Origami King.
And the WiiU has DS Virtual Console games, which we are definitely not getting on switch.

I feel like your gripe on the camera is not well justified. It was THE FIRST EVER 3D game with a controllable camera. It was revolutionary at the time, and because it was pretty much the first one ever, of course it isn't all that great. But I don't think that's a valid reason to say the game's bad.
As for your other point, the textures not aging well, I see where you're coming from, but I don't they're that bad. Compare it to Bubsy 3D, which actually came out after Super Mario 64, and then you'll be praising Mario 64's textures.
Yeah, but think of this: They saw how the camera was awkward at times, it was in the wall and you can't even see Mario and they thought, "Yeah, this is good enough."
You probably won't get in that situation anyways on most courses. Plus, IT WAS THE FIRST 3D CAMERA EVER, YOU DON'T HAVE TO BE THAT HARSH.

As for my unpopular opinion? I don't like Origami King. At all. I'll just Copy-Paste what I said to The_Garfield_Gamer in private messages.
The worst game is, according to most people, Sticker Star, but honestly, I think the worst is Origami King.
Sticker Star just had bad gameplay compared to the original 2 games. If it was not branded as a Mario game, it would be fine. But Origami King?
Y'know the one main thing people criticized Color Splash for? The battles took too long. What does Origami King do? Make them EVEN LONGER. Y'know what else people hated about Color Splash? The fact that it emphasized the characters being paper. Do you know what Origami King does? Basically, you can't go 5 seconds without the game basically shouting in your face: HEY! EVERYTHING AND EVERYONE IS MADE OF PAPER! THIS IS A PAPER-CRAFTED WORLD!
The boss battles in OK are far less creative than the Koopalings. Yes, I said it, but it's the truth. The Koopalings felt like actual characters. They each had their own personality, catchy and diverse boss music, and I think felt more fun and memorable than the Things turned against us that OK had. The only memorable things the Things did were the Colored Pencils saying "You were better when you were a side-scroller", and the Hole Puncher dancing. That's it. Color Splash? Iggy rode a Chain Chomp carriage around and was the champion of a Colosseum. Morton talked dumb, and called himself "Less-ton". Lemmy was the owner of a Circus, did magic tricks, and was on a big ball. Ludwig had a half-battleship because Mario came early, and he also had a Submarine. Roy stole your paint. Wendy was in a clam and had rhythm-based attacks. And Larry was a VIP who made you fight a Giant Steak, then he hijacked a train. All of those I can remember and I haven't even gotten past the Yellow Chapter when I played. In OK I've gotten past the Purple Chapter yet I can barely tell you anything about the bosses.
Blocking doesn't do shit in OK. In CS, Blocking halved the damage you take, making it really rewarding to block, especially late game. In OK? Turn 1 I block the attack, it does 21 damage. Turn 2 I don't block the same attack it does 23 damage. Blocking is pretty shit.
The leitmotif of OK, to me, is not nearly as catchy as Color Splash's.
Olivia is annoying, and honestly there were multiple points where I forgot she existed. Comparing her to Huey? Yeah, I'm glad Olivia's gone. Huey was a much better character.
Honestly? The only streamer chapter I like is the Yellow one. Red? It's the starting one, of course it's nothing special. Blue? Kinda boring. Purple? Cool concept, honestly kinda lackluster implementation. Green? there are multiple points where the game straight out makes you 50/50 guess a path, and kills you if you guess wrong. Final? meh.
I liked Professor Toad more than Bobby.
P. Toad felt more like a partner, with stuff he could do in the overworld to effect things. His attack in battle was also way better than Bobby's, doing more damage, hitting more than one enemy, and seems to have a way lower chance of failing compared to Bobby's attack. And plus, P. Toad had an actual unique character design. And with Bobby's death? I didn't cry. Blowing is just what Bob-ombs do. Plus, why did Bobby die when he blew up? It's been shown before in previous games that Paper Bob-ombs don't die when they blow up. Bombette didn't die. Neither did Bobbery. Sure, Bobbery's wife died, but she died of illness.
Sorry for the rant, but I really don't like Origami King.

No, I lied when I said Man Man is my favorite. My actual favorite is Pac Man. The ability he gives, Hydrant Summon, is really fun to use.
This sound like cool. Please elaborate.
When using Hydrant Summon, Mega Man plops a Fire Hydrant below him. Depending on what direction you press on the C-Stick (or R-Stick depending on what you call it), the Fire Hydrant shoots Water in different directions. Up, Left, and Right look just like they did in Smash Bros. You can use it to give yourself a boost to run from something, cross long gaps, or get really high. However, if you press down on the C-Stick, Fire Spews out of every hole, like one of Pac-Man's Custom Special Moves in Sm4sh. While this deals a lot of damage to enemies, it also deals a lot of damage to you, so be careful. Hydrant Summon (The drop and the Fire) is strong against Jump Man and Wario Man.

i'd say triple x2 mushroom as an option for time trials
If they put that in, people could use it to cheat.
The ONLY way I see that working is if, when using the Six-tuple Mushrooms, the Time Trials record wouldn't count.
