My suggestion is for SNES track to have the original 5 laps like they do in Super Mario Kart. Online races and even offline races on some of those tracks are very short and most of the time are under a minute. It would also be extremely easy to implement.

I'm back with my new MKPC project which is my take on a Super Mario Kart type game. It is called Mario Kart: Full Speed! It will have 10 cups and 13 different themes. First courses should be releasing in a few days.
