Hello everyone,
So recently the mods and I have noticed some pretty bad forum trends: message grinding and random topics nobody really knows/cares about. We've also had to delete quite a few because they were either just plain dumb, had conversions unrelated to the topic or it was the same 2-3 people just messaging each other. We decided to bring this back because we'd rather this stuff be in one place rather than just everywhere, i.e. organised spam as opposed to cluttered spam.
Obviously the "anything" part doesn't mean everything and you still have to follow the rules. Your posts here have to make sense because I dont wanna see random gibberish, so anyone who uses the "this is space for ANYTHING" card is gonna get a warn, non negotiable. (so don't just post a single letter/emoji or bash your keyboard etc.)
Please don't use this as a space to grind messages, or treat this like a big groupchat either.
The mods will be monitoring this topic so please don't abuse this or do anything stupid. We may also be locking or deleting any random topics in the future.

A lot of the recent stuff was pretty stupid, random convos or false facts. I may consider unlocking it (unlikely tho).
As for SFA, well it's better to have one topic of garbage than several garbage topics. Although some people are still not using it when they should be...

The n-word should never be said in public places on the internet because it's considered a slur, I'm sure you can find other words anyway (if you can't you're hopeless). Even if you don't take offense to it, others might hence why it's just banned in most places anyway. I can also say it doesn't actually mean friend but people just call their friends that sometimes.
Point is, just avoid the word altogether and you won't be punished (this isn't my rules it's just common)

Can't be bothered reading the whole topic but I'll post some of my thoughts here.
I thought the idea of the gif was kinda cool (even though I don't care about bad apple) but it got really annoying really fast because it was spammed across several topics. It wasn't nice on the eyes especially when you're actually trying to read something. It really should've only belonged here.
I'm all for the fix and I don't think there's much of an argument against it. Imagine the same thing happened but with a rick roll, amogus or skibidi toilet idk, I don't think anybody would have second thoughts. Even if the gif was something that everyone liked, people here are still gonna abuse it no matter what.

The reason why QM isn't allowed, and hasn't been in every other previous official TBC, is that pretty much everything is done for you. A contest is supposed to test your ability to design and create a track, which isn't shown at all in QM. You'd probably end up with a 0 in every category if QM were to be used (eg you can't get above 0 for collisions or visual if you haven't actually programmed or drawn anything respectively), and since it pretty much has no chance against CM tracks it was just removed altogether.
Hopefully you figure out the problems to your track, the help section in the editor is pretty useful so definitely check that out.

Remakes are NOT allowed (unless it's a remake of your own creation). The reason for this is because the 'layout' and to an extent 'variety' criteria are basically done for you already.

We've finished the Advent Calendar not too long ago, but the fun doesn't end there. Welcome to the official topic of the 2025 Winter Track Building Contest! Here you will find all of the information regarding the event. EVERYONE is welcome to participate, no matter your skill or experience, and you earn rewards for your participation.
You will have to create a COMPLETE MODE circuit in the following theme:
SWEETS
and then submit your creation on this topic. Your creation will be judged by the jury at the end of the tournament.
The creations must be ORIGINAL and made for this tournament (that means you can't steal another's creation or post an internet image). You are also allowed to submit up to 3 creations, however you will only receive points for your best creation.
Tracks will receive a score out of 20 from each jury member, and to win you will need to have the highest score.
Gameplay
Layout (How interesting the layout is? Is there any shortcuts and/or alternate paths?) = /4
Design (Variety in sections and other minor design areas) = /3
Collisions (Walls, checkpoints, off-road etc) = /2
Obstacles (Goombas, Buses, Snow balls etc) = /2
Total for gameplay: /11
Decoration
Visual (How good the visuals are?) = /3
Theming (How creative/fitting is the theming?) = /2
Decoration (MKPC decors and the art itself decor as long as it fits the track) = /2
Music (Appropriate for the track) = /1
Background (MKPC background and the art itself background) = /1

Total for all: /20
