well okay. that's simply my opinion

*cough cough* wow you're wrong. MKWorld is BY FAR the best YET.

1. the soundtrack. its just banging

2. tracks. sure there are 30, but those tracks are some of if not the best the could've chose to remake/the new tracks are amazing. call me crazy but Koopa Troopa Beach is honestly fun. same with Desert Hills.

3. the characters. sure some characters like funky Kong and peatey piranha aren't here, but who cares about peatey and funky is honestly mid. and also, F**KING BIDDYBUD. AND CONKDOR. HELL EVEN COIN COFFER.

4. the side-modes. okay battle is... kinda terrible, but KNOCKOUT TOUR IS INSANE. and there's the open world, its fine, I wouldn't normally pick it but sometimes I do just cause. but back to knockout, the concept is great, going across the world and each track the bottom 4 get killed and the last 4 race on 1 final track. and it uses intermissions very well (I'll get to those in a second)

5. intermissions. yes, call me absolutely INSANE. but I like intermissions. the concept is done very well and sure there are a lotta straight lines, they can be very fun with the high amount of racers.

and finally, 6. tricks. just look at the world records to see how good these are, especially Whistlestop Summit, Wario Stadium, Shy Guy Bazaar, Airship Fortress, DK Pass, and Bowser's Castle.


so uhh yea MKWorld is by far the best in the series, and no one is changing my mind. and yes, @Ivnahl, you were right, I did have some opinions...

So I've been seeing a trend of things new players do. so imma compile them up here so new players can get a hang of everything.


Firstly, what you should do:

1. Introduce yourself, if you don't then you might not become as known as you could be. weather you make a whole topic, or just a SFA post, you should do it in some way.

2. You don't have to play as the 'best character', sure a lotta people will tell you Daisy has the best stats and you should use her. but if you don't plan on taking the game to seriously, you don't have to play as her. play a character you feel good playing with.


and uhh what NOT to do:

1. don't go to some random topic and say hi. that'd be off-topic and also a useless message. make a topic or a SFA post instead.

2. don't accuse people of cheating in online. most new players I see waiting in online accuse me of cheating because of RD. but just know, its not cheating, RD (Or Reverse Drift) is a technique where you switch between forward and backward movement while in a drift. a bunch of top players do this so don't get too mad when facing them.

3. FOR THE LOVE OF GOD. PLEASE DONT JUST SIT THERE IN AN ONLINE LOBBY, JUST TO NOT EVEN PLAY. so many new players do this and its sooooooooo insanely annoying. please don't do this



So hopefully this can help some new players. if I find/think of more things to add I will. hopefully this can strike a basis for new players.

and one last thing, for you new guys, here's a list of things you might wanna do

1. Make a custom character. okay, these can be hard, but I've made some myself and once you get used to it, its easy! if you're wonder wtf im rambling about, if you go to the character select screen, and click the yellow + icon, there's where you can make custom characters, but also use some that other people have made!

2. Make a Complete Mode track. you probably have made a Quick Mode track, but a challenge you can face if you think you're good enough, is to make a Complete Mode track. but first, you'll have to make an image. oh, and make sure not to take images off Google, or ones that other people have made. here's a topic made by @Roccoween showing how to make a CM track:

3. Learn Snaking or RD. these can be difficult, but with enough practice, you'll be able to do it. I'm still learning RD (Reverse Drift) actually. snaking is simpler, so start with it, its similar to MKDS. but if you think you've perfected snaking, you can try learning RD. I don't wanna ramble to much, so here's a tutorial by @Proudster (also one of the best players!)




4. Talk to some people! if you've possibly made friends with someone in say, online, then using the Members Area and talking to them through DMs is a good idea, who knows you might become friends with them :/
