Creating Mario Kart Double Dash: Total Insanity!!

DISCLAIMER:

Mario Kart: Double Dash!! is probably the most chaotic game in the entire Mario Kart series, so why hasn't it gotten a sequel yet?


Mario Kart Double Dash: Total Insanity!! will have twelve teams of characters.
Mario and Luigi
Peach and Daisy
Yoshi and Birdo
Wario and Waluigi
Toad and Toadette
Dry Bones and King Boo
Koopa Troopa and Shy Guy
Baby Mario and Baby Luigi
Bowser and Bowser Jr.
Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong
Rosalina and Pauline
Geno and Boshi. (Square, I know you developed the game, but Nintendo also helped with it. The least you can do is let them use your characters. Imagine if Intelligent Systems banned Nintendo from using any and all Super Circuit tracks. And besides, Boshi is just Yoshi's Wario. Imagine the trio. I'm getting off topic. Sorry.)

The game will have 40 courses: 20 new, and 20 retro. Each of the new courses will have its own gimmick that will add to the madness that Double Dash is known for. I don't know what to do for the new courses, but here are the retros. (cups still have yet to be determined.)

Like DD, Total Insanity will have normal items and special items. Unlike DD, special items can only be used once per race, and are more powerful.

SPECIAL ITEMS:
Mario- Fire Flower (can rapid-fire fireballs until he gets hit with another item)
Luigi- Feather (works like Super Mario Kart; can jump over falls, and can get a speed boost afterwards)
Peach- Heart (works like Double Dash; can steal an item she runs into)
Daisy- Flower Garden (can grow a trail of flowers behind her for ten seconds; slows opponents down)
Yoshi- Tounge (eats a nearby racer and turns them into an egg, freezing them in place for 5 seconds.)
Birdo- Egg Tank (can rapid fire eggs in all directions for ten seconds; said eggs work like Yoshi Eggs)
Toad- Mushroom Cannon (works like Mario Kart Tour; shoots out Mushrooms for 7.5 seconds; only effects Toad)
Toadette- Mushroom Powder (works like the arcade games; takes effect of a random Mushroom Item)
Wario/Waluigi- Bob-Omb Cannon (works like Mario Kart Tour; shoots out Bob-Ombs for 7.5 seconds)
Dry Bones- Dry Shell (works like a red shell, except it reforms once it breaks, which can happen up to three times)
King Boo- Item Roulette (all opponents' items are replaced with something random)
Koopa Troopa- Combo Shell (takes off shell and shoots it forward; homes in on and hits every opponent before finding its way back to Koopa Troopa)
Shy Guy- Mask Off (removes mask, which scares opponents and makes them go in the opposite direction)
Baby Mario/Baby Luigi- Balloons (gains three balloons; each hit will pop a balloon, but won't effect the kart)
Bowser/Bowser Jr.- Bowser Shell (works like Double Dash; mega shell bounces around the track and causes extra damage)
DK- Giant Banana (works like Double Dash; places giant banana that turns into three regular bananas when hit)
Diddy Kong- Banana Cannon (works like Mario Kart Tour- shoots out bananas for 7.5 seconds)
Rosalina- Launch Star (becomes incredibly fast for 8 seconds, but will lose all her speed and them some if she gets hit)
Pauline- Karaoke (sings part of "Jump Up, Superstar" into her mic, causing opponents to stop and enjoy the music)
Geno- 7 Stars (gains a Star that lasts 7x as long as normal)
Boshi- Footrace (jumps out of kart and runs a backwards lap around the track, spinning out other racers and picking up dropped items that he comes across; goes same speed as kart)

The game will support single-player, up to 8-player multiplayer, and 2-8-player co-op.
GRAND PRIX:
A single-player-only mode where you race against 11 other teams to win the gold cup. There are 6 engine classes (50cc, 100cc, 150cc, 150cc Reverse, 200cc, and 200cc Reverse) and 11 cups (Mushroom, Flower, Egg, Star, Special, Shell, Banana, Bell, Leaf, Lightning, and All-Cup Tour,) meaning there are a total of 66 trophies to obtain.
TIME TRIALS:
A single-player-only mode where you race against the clock to get your best time, or against a ghost to beat their time. In addition to being able to play against your own ghost or a staff ghost, you can also race against ghosts from around the world. You can also play on either 150cc, 150cc Reverse, 200cc, or 200cc Reverse.
VS. RACE:
This mode is available in both single-player and multiplayer. You can race against your friends and/or CPU's to win a race on any course. This is available in all engine classes, and can be played in co-op.
BATTLE MODE: This mode is available in both single-player and multiplayer. All five modes from Mario Kart 8 Deluxe return, with the exception of Coin Runners, which is replaced with Shine Runners from DS. In addition, Balloon Battle and Bob-Omb blast are no longer timed. Like VS. Race, this mode can be played in co-op.
