I'm pretty sure the current logo is paying homage to the source material, being the same font as SNES Super Mario Kart. This I feel is too modern and not at all as expressive as the old logo.

They are not going to update the UI, that is not a priority. Please stop asking for this, also this logo doesn't really work for previously mentioned reasons
